|Minimum Stay||4 nights|
Beautifully updated 4 bedroom home located in a subdivision in Southwest Austin, just 10 minutes from downtown Austin. The home has a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances, polished limestone countertops and a sunny breakfast nook. It opens up to a great family room filled with natural sunlight. The dining room provides more seating for dining.
The backyard is a great place to entertain and relax. There is a great deck right off the kitchen that runs the length of the house and leads down to a heated pool (there is a child safety fence for pool if needed). The backyard is filled with tall oak trees that provide great shade almost all day long.
The home has 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom is located downstairs with a king size bed and a large master bath with travertine tile. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs.
The first upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds, with a full bathroom right outside the bedroom door.
The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a twin size trundle bed that will sleep 2 and is connected to the third bedroom upstairs with a jack and jill bathroom.
The third upstairs bedroom currently has a crib and a twin size trundle that sleeps 2 (can be converted to a king sized bed).
Also upstairs is a huge game room with space for an Aero bed if needed.
The subdivision also has two pools, tennis courts, and basketball courts as well as access to the Barton Creek Greenbelt - a great place to hike or mountain bike.
We are approximately 12 minutes from downtown, the University of Texas campus, the State Capitol Building, the convention center and 19 miles to the new Circuit of Americas Formula One Racetrack.
Renters must be at least 25 years old.
We both grew up in Austin, the Boothe family being 6th Generation Austin-ites! We plan on staying put, as we love our city and love having our families so close by.
Amy Boothe purchased this house in 2011
We love the location of our neighborhood and its proximity to downtown (~8 miles). As well, we love all the amenities it offers - such as parks, pools, tennis and basketball courts and entry points to the Greenbelt.
We were two families traveling with four children ages 1 to 6. The house was exactly as advertised, clean and well stocked with kitchen items, bedding, towels, and TOYS! So many toys for all of our kids to enjoy: games, kitchen set, building blocks, Barbies, figurines, dress up, pool toys! Every closet had a new supply of toys which entertained our kids endlessly. They only watched one movie the entire week because they were just happy to play with all the fun stuff.
The layout of the house was great: we loved the open kitchen to living room area, and the bedrooms were super comfortable. Amy was available for any questions we had via email the entire time, and was very accommodating and nice.
Target, Whole Foods and Costco a 10 minute drive away to stock up on supplies for the week.
Very nice washer and dryer.
The pool was shaded and wonderful, there were lots of noodles and floaties for the kids.
I can't say enough about this property, we had such a great time. There were a few cons, however, which were minor and did not really deter from our enjoyment of the property much:
1. standing water on the deck. There were a few days of rain, and the water from the back deck did not drain.
2. Mosquitos! Maybe due to the standing water, but also the shady property in general (or just Austin?), we were all eaten alive. One of the 4 year olds had a terrible reaction to every bite and we had to be super diligent about bug spray.
3. The BBQ did not have the best brush for cleaning the grill, and we all agreed we could have used more tongs in the kitchen.
4. The pool had a robot to clean debris, and we weren't able to figure out how to turn it off while we were in the pool. It got in the way a bit, but honestly was not a big deal.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! I wish we could move it to our next joint vacation location in another state!
Thank you so much, Amy, for the great house and excellent communication. We all appreciate your availability and quick responses to questions.
We went with two other families and found that there was pleeeeenty of space for the kids to play and relax upstairs in the family room. Master bedroom was a very nice size and other bedrooms were ample. Everything in working order. Out back very nice grill and pool area for R & R. Just be advised that it is a home that is being lived in currently so lots of personal items of the owners and their kids. We had never rented a home that was lived in so for us it was a bit of a new experience. We did have to unload a dishwasher full of their kids dishes (only a minor problem). Other than that, the owners were very nice and accommodating and we got our deposit back in full. Very prompt responses to our questions via e mail and very little demands for checking out. They made it easy for us. Thanks for that!!
We spent the past two weeks here and it was wonderful. We have two small children who appreciated the availability and variety of toys and books. Aside from the many attractions of Austin, nearly all of which are easy to get to thanks to the home's location near the intersection of Mopac and 290, the big attraction was the pool! On the 95-degree afternoons when we just wanted to stay in, the cool and SHADED pool was the perfect respite. The home is incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is adequately stocked for all the cooking we wanted to do (plus a gas grill on the deck), and the homeowner is friendly and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again :)
Seven of us gathered from all over the country to celebrate Thanksgiving in Austin. This home was spacious, clean and well-equipped for cooking a turkey dinner. The master bedroom/bathroom on the first floor was very nice. Lots of play space upstairs for the children. The owner was very gracious and helpful to us. I would definitely recommend this house to other families.
We are a family of 8 adults and 3 children including a baby. We were absolutely delighted with this property. The home was spacious, immaculate and had everything we needed for our family get together. We had enough room for "together time" and rest time as needed. The pool was sparkling and the shade from the trees allowed us to enjoy it at all times of the day. The location was excellent -near to grocery stores, a variety of restaurants and most Austin attractions. Access to 290 was very convenient as we did a trip to Fredericksburg. The men in our party enjoyed fine golfing at Falcon Head and Gray Rock courses. We were most impressed by the attention from the owner and her availability to us if we had had any needs. We found access to a local pediatric group very easy and prompt. We came home refreshed and relaxed and highly recommend this beautiful property.
Our family spent the Memorial Day Holiday week here. Very nice welcome basket and great house in a quiet neighborhood. The pool entertained the children endlessly! The owner was easy to communicate with and was concerned about our stay. Thanks Amy!
