Perfect location to walk to local attractions. We had a car to visit sites outside San Francisco - garage space was great to have (and extremely affordable!). Uber pick-up and public transportation easily accessible. Eleanor was a pleasure to conduct business. Extremely helpful. My teenage kids could not wait to get back "home" after a long day of sight-seeing and hang out. So comfortable! Would come back and stay in a minute!
If you are looking for a 2 bedroom unit in Fisherman's Wharf/North Beach area, look no further. We stayed here for 7 days, 6 nights. This was our first Homeaway (VRBO) experience and it was a GREAT one! From start to finish, Eleanor was clear and easy to work with. The unit is as good, if not better than described in the listing. The suite has been updated beautifully, but they still kept the charm of an old building. Like the built in ironing board and trash chute. There was 5 of us that stayed (4 adults and a 2 year old) and the suite was plenty large to accommodate us all. She even had a port a crib and booster waiting for us so we didn't have to pack ours. Eleanor thought to leave some electrical outlet covers in case we needed them too. That shows how thoughtful she is. The queen sized beds were clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen including some local goodies that Eleanor surprised us with, including coffee and coffee maker! Which we used a lot and appreciated it every time we took a sip. The bathroom was clean and updated with good water pressure and great hot water! The roof deck has some of the most amazing views of the city, with peeks of The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Coit Tower and Saints Peter and Paul Church. It was a great home away from home for us to come back to.
The suite is very conveniently located! Close enough for ease, but far enough away to feel like a local. Most of the streets between the attractions and the suite are flat and easy to walk (except Coit Tower). You have to go to Freddie's Sandwiches across the street for lunch one day. It's a San Fran staple and delicious. Great breakfast is 3.5 blocks away at Pat's Cafe. Most attractions are within easy walking distance along The Embarcadero. Multiple forms of public transportation are very close and easy to use. Just do some research before you go. You can get all the way up to Muir Woods via Sausalito with public ferries and buses. SF Giants game is an easy train ride away along The Embarcadero. Uber is also an easy, fast and affordable option to get around town. If you must rent a car, she has a garage available for a very reasonable fee. There is street parking, but it has a 2 hour limit. So if you don't want to move the car every two hours, go for the garage. You won't be disappointed.
This was the perfect suite! Try the local places and avoid the chains. Big Thanks to Eleanor for her hospitality and sharing her suite with us!
This was a great place - convenient to Fisherman's wharf (three blocks) and Pier 39 and no hill! Close to SAFEWAY and Trader Joe's. Other way just three blocks to store, and 4 blocks to Mama's breakfast and Tony's Pizza ( there are two hills). Place is very nice, plenty of room for 4, and well provided utensils, dishes, cooking items, coffee pot, etc. Host Eleanor is tops - very friendly, informative, and kind - even left bread loaf and coffee and other items. Easy checkout rules. Reasonable price for area. Highly recommended.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our first visit to San Francisco and the convenient location of the suite. My husband, two sons (ages 8 and 10) and I were a short walk to the majority of our sightseeing destinations (Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Coit Tower, Chinatown, Lombard St., Cable Cars, Exploratorium, Fisherman's Wharf). We were easily able to hop on a streetcar or bus - thanks to the CityPass that Eleanor helpfully recommended - to visit the California Academy of Sciences or make our way to the Ferry Terminal to visit friends in Marin County. The suite itself is very clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable, and as a previous review stated, Eleanor adds several thoughtful touches including tourist guidebooks, brochures and a convenient list of local restaurants, shopping, and sights to see. We frequently choose VRBO over hotels and other options, and Eleanor has by far been the most pleasant and communicative of anyone I've booked with. Highly recommend her and her suite!
the unit is ideally located just 2 blocks from Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf. You can also walk to China town, little Italy and Coit tower, and Ghiradelli square if you wanted. The home is very clean, very cute and located in a very safe area. There is a school right across the street. When you walk down a few blocks, you hit all of the tourist places. The home is a unit with 2 apartments inside. I felt very safe there, there are 2 locked doors you have to get thru before you get to your place. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, nice large kitchen, and living area. In the morning, you can hear the cars go by, sometimes it can be loud, but the owner let us know and we were expecting it. The 2 units share a rooftop balcony, but on our trip, we were the only ones in the unit so we go the roof top all to ourselves. It was nice to sit and relax and enjoy the cool temps and views. The owner makes sure most all the comforts of home are there, she is very accommodating and helpful. The shower water pressure was awesome! I hate taking a shower with a small trickle of water, and I have no complaints. You feel very a part of the community when you stay here. I felt like many of the residents lived around us and we just kinda of blended in for a bit. You can also walk to grocery stores and to the start of the Trolley Cars just a few blocks away. If we visit the beautiful city of San Francisco again, we would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here with our 2 kids, ages 15 and 13. It is convenient walk to most attractions: Alcatraz, Embarcadero, Fishermans Wharf, Ferry Building, CoitTower, Exploratorium. Easy uber to Golden Gate Park and AT&T Park.
Eleanor was great. Met us and answered questions. Offered suggestions for good restaurants.
Suite is clean and has everything you need. She provided coffee and some snacks. She has suite prepared with simple things you need while traveling and staying at a VRBO that many places don't have: shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, coffee filters, etc.
Would highly recommend this suite.
