About the property

house, 2800 sq. ft., 4 bedrooms, Sleeps 10, 3 bathrooms

This beautiful 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath home tucked away in Christmas Valley is the ideal place for that family that wants to escape the hustle and bustle of South Lake Tahoe, but still be close enough to join in on all the fun the area has to offer. So just what does this spacious retreat offer to ensure your next vacation is a truly tranquil one? A quick look inside showcases all the amenities it provides.

We begin in the open living area which truly maximizes the space. Head upstairs to the living room to enjoy the serenity of your fireplace that’s perfectly nestled next to the large flatscreen TV. While you’re there, slide over to the spacious, modern kitchen and cook the family one of your trademark gourmet meals. The dining table can comfortably seat 6, with an additional 5 seats at the breakfast bar right next to it. If the simplicity of grilling is more your speed, head out to the adjacent deck with even more comfortable seating, only these ones come with a spectacular view of the surrounding nature. Once you’re done dining for the day, retreat to the downstairs family room, complete with its wet bar, pull-out queen sofa, and access to the outdoor hot tub to really solidify your next moment of zen.

The sleeping accommodations really do their part, too. The master bedroom comes equipped with king bed, its own LCD TV, and private bathroom with separate jetted tub and shower to satisfy whatever mood you’re in. There are two more bedrooms with queen beds, and a fun bunk room that can accommodate up to four more. So go ahead, invite a friend or two.

Should your desire to get away soon go away, you’re just minutes from everything the area has to offer. A short stroll outside your door provides you with outdoor opportunities galore. Think hiking, biking, fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. And should you desire the complete Lake Tahoe experience, the lake, the ski lifts, and the casinos are all just around 10 miles from the home. For you see, at Nature’s Hideaway, the activities you choose are always entirely up to you.

House is great but

  • 4 of 5

The house was wonderful but for the price couple things need updating. One the couches have to go. Very uncomfortable, ripped and broken in to much. Back hurts after sitting in them for a short period of time. Screen door onto the patio needs replacing, you break your nails on them when opening. The bunk beds needs updating also screws missing and loose. But after that very clean and neat. Perfect location close to everything and neighborhood very relaxing and quiet.

Comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the house was very nice and warm. The only downside were the 4 bunk beds, very squeaky and the mattresses were too saggy. Other than that, the place was very nice!

Very nice house, a few small issues

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautiful and comfortable -- spacious and well-appointed, exactly as advertised. My family of four had a great time there, with enough space that we didn't trip all over the other family of four we were traveling with.

Only a couple quibbles: It was not stocked with basics as promised -- no salt, paper towels, etc. More importantly, the hot tub is situated on ground level, under the upstairs deck. Anyone sleeping in the adjacent bedroom will clearly hear the heater/filtration system on the other side of the wall turn on and off throughout the night. It's only a hum, but can be jarring when it pops on every few minutes while one is trying to fall asleep.
