Randy and I are parents and grandparents moving towards retirement, wanting a place away from the hustle and bustle of big city living. We found this home by accident as we were looking for a condo but fell in love on first sight. Though Randy continues the commute to Calgary for work, we have been welcomed into this community and have found the friendliness next to none.
Beth purchased this townhome in 2010
We bought the property because it allows us to live year round in the mountains, have plenty of room for family and friends and and at other times share this beautiful accommodation with visitors such as yourself. We love we can be so close to nature yet walk and enjoy an early morning coffee at our favourite coffee shop, spend an afternoon on the deck of our favourite pub or dine at a top end restaurant. Or sit by the creek and enjoy the sound of the water moving by! Walking on the paths surrounding the town are just steps away.
We love that the many windows in the home, allowing us to view the expansiveness of the mountains. The detailed workmanship and love that went into building this home, we consider our honour to maintain.
The property is absolutely gorgeous ( the pictures don't do it justice!), immaculately clean, and very well appointed. From the well stocked basic supplies to the drawer with a variety of spices to the hair dryers & curling iron, soap & shampoo in the bathrooms to the robes & slippers - everything to make a guest feel comfortable and at home is there! Every window affords a spectacular view of either the mountains or the creek running alongside the house. The beautiful outdoor patio next to the creek and hot tub area add even more to the experience. A fantastic and unexpected bit of "lagniappe" (a little something extra) was the park pass that will get you into all of the parks for the duration of your stay! We stayed as 2 couples and the bedrooms with private baths were fantastic. This was our 4th trip to the Bannf area, but each time we are still just as amazed by the beautiful scenery. We visited Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise (don't miss hiking up the trail to the right side of the lake until you can look down onto the lake), hiked in Yoho National Park, and on a rainy day drove up to the Royal Terrel Paleontology Museum in Drumheller. Many thanks to Beth & her husband for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip!
Not only was the location perfect (a block away from downtown Canmore), the accommodations were splendid (equivalent to what you'd get in a fancy hotel), there is beautiful views of the mountains from every window, plenty of parking, a hot tub accessible throughout the day, a fully supplied kitchen, access to a beautiful creek, WiFi, laundry, 3 bathrooms, etc..
We stayed as two couples and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Looking forward to coming back soon!
We chose this location for our private wedding in 2004. It was absolutely incredible and provided a unique backdrop for our ceremony. We discovered on check-in that Russell Crowe and his lady had stayed there just the week before which was an awesome surprise. We're planning on staying here again to renew our vows.
The location, a block or so from downtown, is convenient, and also idyllic alongside Policemen's Creek. The residence and its appointments are high quality, tasteful and thoughtul. (Even coffee for the brewer and for the Tassimo). We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway, close to restaurants and galleries; we left relaxed and refreshed. We'll be back!
