About Mike and Kathy Lowry

We moved to Florida about 10 years ago, and came right to Manasota Key...It was the right move for our family.

Mike and Kathy Lowry purchased this house in 2011

Why Mike and Kathy Lowry chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

This is just a spectacular house. There is always something entertaining out of your window, dolphins, manatee, boats, and fishermen. Because it is a second story, and because of the position of the house, you can see the water quite far from the north to the south, and across the bay too! You will love it.

What makes this house unique

Along with the views of the wildlife, you can do most any water sport here. This house is close to (sport) rentals, as well as 3/4 of a mile to the public beach and the north bridge. Restaurants and shopping are close also. You will find it hard to leave.

Spectacular Views of Lemon Bay! Very Convenient to Manasota Beach and Blind Pass Beach!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here Jan 2nd thru 8th to celebrate my 60th birthday. Manasota Key has become a favorite vacation destination for us in the past couple of years and we have visited several times since our first visit there in August 2014. My husband is an avid shark tooth hunter and he combs the beaches daily for hours finding teeth in the surf and the sand. This property was very convenient to the two beaches where he likes to go while we are there. There is no doubt that the views of Lemon Bay are AWESOME! The property is true to the photos and even better in person. My husband caught his very first snook off of the back deck/dock area (catch and release as snook were not in season during our visit). That was exciting. We usually visit in the summer time as we are beach lovers and spend most all day every day on the beach. This time, since it was winter, the temperatures and weather was not really conducive to that, but still pleasant and in the 70's for the high most days. Had some rain but not too bad. We saw many kinds of birds (heron, pelican, ducks, etc) from the panoramic views from the living room and bedroom. It is wonderful waking up that that view! As previous reviewer mentioned, this place is quiet, peaceful and in a location away from the restaurants and "busy" area of Manasota. You will need to drive to restaurants on either the island or Englewood. There are plenty of great places to eat! Elevator was a welcome plus for us; really convenient to have it for unloading and loading luggage upon arrival and departure. Elevator opens in the enclosed garage and lets you off in the master bedroom upstairs. One note: there is only 1 bed; listing mentions that property sleeps 4; they do provide an air mattress for guest use if needed). As mentioned, we stayed here for a special occasion (birthday celebration) and it is a little more expensive than our normal weekly rentals on Manasota but we certainly enjoyed splurging on this beautiful property! Kathy even brought me beautiful flowers for my birthday! Thanks Kathy & Mike!

Nothing less than perfect

  • 5 of 5

I write this review as I sit on the deck enjoying my last day here, very sad that I am going home to forecasted cold and snow in Canada. I agree whole heartedly with everything previous viewers have said. You truly cannot beat the view...I did however get 'skunked' in the dolphin viewing department as I didn't see a single one...next time I stay here I hope that Mike and Kathy will rectify that situation 😉. Mike and Kathy live right across the street so they are there if needed, but they do not intrude on your privacy in any way. I have rented alot of places in Florida and this is the first time I have ever been awestruck by everything about it. If you are the type who wants to walk to the local pub or restaurant or have a busy area nearby, this is not the place for you. This is peace and solitude. Nice place...you will not regret renting here.

Greatly exceeded our expectations.

  • 5 of 5

This place was absolutely stunning and everything we could expect (and then some) for our annual getaway from city life. The owners are extremely mindful of what the word "vacation" means, and have certainly have taken every step to ensure you have a great one. The only bad part of our stay, was having to leave.

This house is immaculate. Beautiful decor, luxurious linens, comfortable bed - we felt like a million bucks for a week. Let's not forget the views. Again, absolutely stunning. The pictures do not really provide enough justice of what you will experience. Not really sure why you are still reading this and haven't booked yet, but I will add that the garage is great for keeping your car cool in the summer before you excursions, the washer and dryer were excellent for not having to worry about keeping track of dirty/cleans, the elevator to cart your luggage up and down makes settling in and leaving a snap, the coolers and folding chairs were great for the beach excursions, the kitchen has just about anything you would need to prepare a meal, and the fish are biting right off the pier.

As for us, we will hopefully be back. I'm just afraid that once the news spreads - this place will be much more expensive than we stayed for originally. Either way, we still have the memories.

Thank you, Mrs. and Mr. Lowry.

Best,

Chris & Kim

Great Find!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful location, directly on Lemon Bay (part of the FL Intracoastal). The house sits up one level above ground (garage space underneath) with loads of glass (and a deck) facing the water. Pelicans, osprey and dolphins in the Bay. FULLY equipped kitchen - just bring your own food and beverages. CLEAN, modern and well equipped house. Big fluffy towels; chairs / lounges on the deck. Manasota Beach (on the Gulf) is a pleasant 15 -20 min walk (no sidewalks so pay attention to traffic); it is a very nice Sarasota County beach, well maintained, with bathrooms (new building) rinse-off showers, picnic tables, charcoal grills, etc - parking lot fills up early in-season. Mike and Kathy provide cooler, chairs and beach umbrella for guest use - very nice owners. Would we stay here again? You bet!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Breath taking views. There is not one negative thing that can be said about this house. It is decorated beautifully, comfortably and well equipped. It's great for small children. We took our 1 year old and did not have to worry about chasing him in an over cluttered house or him touching anything breakable. That was a huge plus for us. We had the pleasure of seeing dolphins every morning right from our breakfast table. The property is spectacular. I can not speak highly enough about this house. It was our paradise for a week. Mr. & Mrs. Lowry, Thank You so much.

Beautiful, relaxing and amazing views

  • 5 of 5

This property is a perfect escape. A short walk to Manasota Key Beach or a 15 minute drive to dog beach up in Venice. The accomodations are beautifully decorated, the towels are soft, bedding crisp and clean, the kitchen is lovely and the view if amazing. Mike and Kathy are wonderful hosts and easy to get ahold of. Drawer in the kitchen with some of the previous tentants favorite places and menus close by, personal favorites Zeke's, Lock and Key and Cedar Fish Camp. For the fisherman, we caught Pompano, Red fish, Snook, a big ugly catfish and Sheephead off the dock. We spent many nights watching the fish jump and the dolphins feed 100 feet out of the back deck. This is a beautiful place and I hope to return soon.
