We purchased the property, after an extensive search and built the home because we always wanted a residence on Lake Michigan.we and two of three adult children use the home extensively, but since we live in the Grand Rapids area,it is at times available to others.
David Wright or Joan Wright purchased this house in 1986
Built in 1994 after extensive search for unique Lake Michigan beach front. Almost 3 acre wooded lot that provides seclusion yet close to many activities that would appeal to a wide range of interests.
A rare property where a family can unwind from the day to day bustle, and do as little or as much in terms of activities as you choose.
Our family vacationed here in mid-July 2016. It is a beautiful home, very well maintained. The owners were very responsive and provided excellent and thorough support and guidance.
Whether you are looking for a week's vacation of peace and quiet, a base for outdoor adventure, or a little bit of both, this is a great house. The cottage is nicely furnished, has a well appointed kitchen, a great deck with a view of beautiful sunsets, and is super clean. It is centrally located between the quaint small towns of Leland, Northport, and Sutton's Bay, all of which have nice shops, restaurants, and opportunities for hiking and other adventures. Being used to the crowded east coast shore line, our family enjoyed exploring the shore and swimming in a lake with few other people around. We would enjoy coming back again.
Sitting on the beach in the evening and enjoying the sunset was the perfect end to a day. The house was very clean and everything was as described. We enjoyed driving to the area towns to shop, especially the trip to Old Mission. We would definitely recommend this property to others!
This is a lovely cottage, well stocked with almost everything one could need or want during a stay. It is centrally located to various sites of interest including Northport, Leland, Suttons Bay and further south Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear dunes. The beach is pristine, the wooded setting serene.
This is our 7th year in Leland and we had another great experience. This home was well stocked with everything we needed...including direct access to the beach. It was clean and comfortable and well stocked. Although we had sunny, warm weather all 7 days, strong winds on three of them prevented us from swimming at the house, but the Northport town beach was less than 15 minutes away...and walking distance from ice cream...so it was very easy to adjust.
My husband and I stayed at this peaceful and beautiful home for a week the end of June. We were so pleasantly surprised to find everything so well equiped and supplied, plus being so clean and comfortable. This is our 3rd VRBO rental and of the 3 this place has been the most enjoyable. The beach, the sunsets and the quiet, shaded surroundings made for a very enjoyable week.
Our family rented this lovely home for a week in June. The setting is quite private, surrounded by woods and a nice view of Lake Michigan. The sunsets were gorgeous. The house is so well stocked with every thing you need for a comfortable stay. It is very clean and cozy. It was the perfect place to spend the week. We hope to return again next summer.
The home is located on almost 3 acres of northern hardwoods,on Lake Michigan, with a magnificant beach. The location offers privacy, yet is close to so many activities. The views and sunsets are stunning.Sleeping Bear Dunes is a half hour away.
