|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
*Please note the change in rates and capacity during the off season: Nov.1st thru March 31- Rates, 150.00-200.00 max capacity two people. We close our bunk house in the winter, we will consider up to four people but that would mean renters bring an air mattress and sleep in the living room,this could work well for people with small children.* Fish from the deck at high tide! Two charming cabins at the water's edge in beautiful Tramp Harbor on Vashon Island. Beautiful south facing Sound and Mountain views . Main cabin has eat-in kitchen, living room, bedroom that sleeps two and bathroom with shower. Secondary cabin is a bunk room that sleeps 4 to 6 with a half bath. Large deck area with jacuzzi, fire pit and built in picnic table.
A little bit about us..... These cabins have been in our family close to 100 years. They are the only buildings that remain from a logging operation that was on the island. Crazy story, but our great-great grandfather actually won them in a poker game! We are going on five generations that have enjoyed them. Many memories have been made here and due to busy lives we find we can't enjoy them as much as we use to(though we go over there whenever we can!). Therefore, rather than let them sit empty on beautiful summer days we decided to open them up for rent so others can enjoy them and create memories of their own.......
Had a fabulous time at the cabin. Very rustic and cozy. Our favorite part of the experience was the high tides coming right up to the cabin and relaxing in the hot tub each night. Everything we needed was right there from bbq to a fully stocked kitchen with new frying pan set. Total package! I would suggest a new mattress or maybe a pillow topper just to give a bit more support but that is it. Such a fun visit! Thank you.
We just stayed 3 nights at Lanette's wonderful cabin on a bulkhead on the beach. This is our second stay. Last time we had a wonderful, quiet sunny new years stay with just the two of us and our dog. We spent most of that time on the deck, under blankets, reading in the sun. Or in front of the fire in the living room. This time we were two couples, two kids (12 and 14) and two dogs. And, once again, the sun was shining on us (Yeah, that's much more likely in late July than early January in the PNW). The kids played with dogs, hung out with the adults or in the hot tub. We cooked, crabbed, walked the beaches, rode our scooter around the island, shopped in the local shops, hung out on the deck talking and drinking and finally collected around the fire ring every night (bring plenty of firewood). Every one of us had a wonderful time. No one wanted to leave on Sunday.
The cabin is "rustic", in a particularly wonderful northwest sort of way. While that may not be for everyone, it is PERFECT for us! Look closely at the pictures. The are reasonably recent and accurately represent the place. The couple with kids took the bunkhouse while we without took the main bedroom, and everyone slept the sleep of the just! While we caught enough Dungeness to provide large appetizers, we didn't catch enough this time to make a meal or carry home to friends. We did catch a lot of Rock Crab, but only kept a couple with enormous claws. But, in my experience mixed results are possible on any day crabbing and often change from day to day.
Lanette doesn't live on the internet, waiting for your request to come in. She's a busy woman and it may take a few days for her to get back to you. However, she is wonderful to work with, very thoughtful and it is very important to her that you fully understand that this is a 100 year old cabin. Don't expect granite counters, high end cookware and 600 thread count linen! This place is way better than that! This is the sort of place that money can't buy. It has character that only comes through being battered by the sea and lived in and fished from for a 100 years. It is a very special place (and I came very close to not reviewing it so as to not reveal what a gem it is...but I really respect Lanette, she's been very kind to me and that would not have been fair to her.) So, enjoy your stay and know that I will be jealous. We will be back!
Quaint and comfy. I appreciated the owner's personal connection in communicating details. Very accessible. Lovely in so many ways. Versatile, casual---JUST Right for our needs. Memorable stay. Thank you!
This was the best time. Since last year, it is updated with a new barbecue which was not necessary but handy. It is a comfy, nicely decorated place and the proximity to the water makes it a real beach experience. The kids fished off the deck! The weather is a bit unsettled in June but nice enough to enjoy the whole place. Super fun. We attended the Sheepdog Trials, an event that has become an annual one for us.
The Beach Cabin is small and homey. It was a perfect three day getaway that had everything you could need. Clean, well stocked and comfortable.
The owner was awesome to work with
The vacation rental was not luxury, but affordable and convenient.
The rental had new appliances, and was remodeled and updated. It was amazingly and slightly unnerving to have the tide literally sloshing on the sides of the house, and under it as well. Having the waves wake you in the middle of the night was really something, but not a nuisance. Just crazy! ha ha. We explored all around the island, rescued a baby octopus that was stranded at low tide. Lots of sealife, and watching the natives fish for squid by generator light on the pier was an experience.
The hot tub on the deck as well as the firepit was a definite highlight, and well used. Ad shows old tv. That is actually in bunkhouse. Were pleased to find nice big flat screen in living room. Bed comfy. Lighting in the kitchen was difficult for me, of course we were there in late October, so it got dark early. Probably rarely an issue in other seasons. The kitchen table looking over the water was amazing to eat and just sit at.
Cute decor, plenty of towels and all in all a great time was had by all! Snapdragon pastries, and the thai restaurant were two must dos. Tasted great cider, beach combed, live music at night.
House could be better equipped with family games, and a dvd player would be nice, for future reference. We went to granny,s attic, a must go to thrift store, and bought some games, but took them home with us.
Five of us were comfortable there, and there was an extra set of bunks we did not even use!
Thank you for a cute home and an awesome experience

Off season rental rates are only for the main cabin, we close up the bunk house for the winter. The main cabin has one queen bed so two guests max...we also do not rent during really high winter tides.
