Owned by widow with two grown children. We moved here when our oldest child was in kindergarten, and our kids went through the local grade and high schools. It's a great neighborhood! I live here most of the year, and only rent this out when I'm traveling.
Kathleen Kelly purchased this house in 1994
Who doesn't love the San Francisco Bay Area? A little known secret is that the weather is much better in Oakland than in SF, because it is sunnier and warmer, but not hot like in the more suburban areas.
Enjoy eating or relaxing in the newly renovated inside rooms or outside on the new patio. Take a walk in the neighborhood and see the views of the Oakland and Berkeley hills, or turn the other direction and see the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges.
Kathleen was very specific in her emails before our arrival which helped to set the pace for a great weekend in Oakland. The house is in a lovely neighborhood and every place we needed to go were no more than15 minutes away.
The house was immaculate and Kathleen left notes suggesting we could use anything in the kitchen frig. That really came in handy when one of the grandchildren wanted peanut butter!
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped . There's a lovely backyard that unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to use.
We'd highly recommend this home.
This house is just gorgeous everything was perfect, it's clean and the 3 bedrooms really comfortable. The view is amazing, the organisation really good too. thank you so much
Very clean, quiet, and well kept home. Had some good family time in this house. Many spots to gather and chat with family, including a beautiful outdoor patio. Great hostess who was helpful if we needed anything.
We really enjoyed everything about this house--a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and a large living room where we could gather after a day of sightseeing. The neighborhood is very nice and close to a shopping area.
The deck provided great views and the brick patio off the kitchen was very pretty and secluded.
Everything about it was perfect for our family which included grandchildren
My family gathered for a wedding and rented this home for a long weekend, which was perfect for our needs! The gourmet kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking utensils and pans needed to cook anything from a simple breakfast to a multi-course dinner! The weather was great and we used the outside patio the entire weekend! The house was actually larger and more spacious than expected from the pictures. We had six adults and did not trip over each other at all.
The owner was very caring and responsive prior to our arrival so there were no surprises. Upon our arrival there was a very detailed information booklet that we referred to throughout our stay. There were plenty of linens (towels, sheets and blankets) available as well as basic amenities the owner encouraged us to use. The owner graciously left post-it notes around the house, which helped with things like locating light switches, working the blinds, and common consumable food (like tea/coffee). With the owner's permission, we hosted a small dinner for the family of the bride one night and everyone loved the house, which was perfect for our family members arriving at different times and worked out much better than trying to meet at a restaurant.
The house was beautifully decorated and had a very nicely landscaped yard and patio. There was a fireplace in the living room but we did not use it. My favorite was the view of the Bay from the master bedroom, especially sunrises and sunsets! We'll definitely look for this home again the next time we're in Oakland! We were sad to have to leave but glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this home for the weekend. Thank you, Kathleen, for sharing your home with us!
Stayed here with some relatives for my cousin's wedding that took place at Oakland Nature Friends. This was an easy location to get to and from the venue. Every amenity was available. We slept on the mattress from the garage in the basement and while I wasn't excited about this idea at first (the other beds had been claimed), it turned out to be the coolest space in the house, comfortable mattress and clean. Beautiful landscaping and views. Great communication with the homeowner and anything you might have a question about has a little note by it, for example, when the shower pipes make a strange noise, you have already seen the note explaining what the reason is. Very clean. I would highly recommend this house. Wish we had more time to enjoy the deck and the patio.
Great location in the East Bay with views to San Francisco. Walking distance to Montclair town center with restaurants and shops. Five minute drive to Rockridge BART station and Rockridge neighborhood, with even more restaurants and shops. Twenty minute drive to Oakland airport and downtown San Francisco.
