About Bill Burns

The owners, Bill and Molly bought their first triplex on Calle Miramar in '89. They've lived on Siesta Key ever since then and are very familiar with all that Sarasota has to offer.

'We think Siesta Key is a great place to live, you can go to the beach three times a day, catch the sunsets at night and park your car on a Friday night and not have to drive again until Monday morning.'

Bill Burns purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Bill Burns chose Siesta Key

The Siesta Key Blue Cottage is the second property we've owned on Calle Miramar. It's a sought after location just 1/2 block to both the Beach and the Village. Built in 1949, it has withstood the test of time and is one of the few remaining examples on Siesta Key of the Florida Bungalow.

What makes this cottage unique

Unique benefits to this property are it's a ground floor, one floor housing unit. No flights of stairs to haul your bags up. An easy walk with a chair and beach towel gets you to the quieter end of Siesta Beach without trying to find parking! And it's a short walk, not a drive or ride, into Siesta Village where you have many restaurants to choose from. Location, location, location.

This was the cutest little cottage, very nicely decorated with everything you could want or need. It was very clean and perfect for two people. The location was perfect, one block from town and one 1 1/2 blocks to the beach. LOVED this place, the village and the beach, would definitely stay here again!

Such a cute cottage, very. Clean and well maintained. Bill provides such great hospitality and made me and my friend feel so welcomed once we arrived, he showed us around the House which was a nice touch. The walk to beach is about 10 mins (1 street back from the beach). The street is quite and there isn't much traffic on it giving you the peaceful and relax feel of the island. We both enjoyed the cottage and I would recommend it to anyone. Honestly can't say anything that was disappointing other than leaving at the end of the week. Thanks again bill and Molly for your beauitful cottage.

Quaint and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This is the ultimate place to stay on the island. We have been visiting over the past 8 years and stayed at multiple places. Bill had everything you need for a stay at the Blue cottage. Close to the beach and town.

Blue Cottage was the perfect getaway cottage. Bill was a pleasure to work with. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The best part was the owner made sure everything was in working order and not outdated. The beach chairs and inside/outdoor furniture were in excellent condition, which is not always the case in most rentals. The bed was amazingly comfortable, plenty of closet space and dresser drawers. The washer/ dryer were great to have and worked very well. You could not beat the location!!! My husband who never likes to walk even walked to the beach because it was so close! I would have liked to have more bath towels, but we just used the washer to fix that situation. We rent lots of vacation homes and this was by far one of the BEST!!! Quiet, clean, and super convenient to everything!!!

Great Cottage on Siesta Key

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Cottage. Bill was there to greet us, and ensured we had everything we needed. It is ideally located with a short walk to the beach, and even shorter walk to the Village; and, it was an easy drive to everything to see and do in the area. The Cottage had all the amenities we needed, and provided both indoor and outdoor comfortable areas to enjoy. Definitely on our short list of places to return in the future.
