( FREE KAYAK USAGE WITH RENTAL) 4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 12
This two story house is a brand new listing. It has a laid back lodge feel. The original owners built this house using trees that came out of the river (as you will see in the pictures) that adds to the rustic feel of the four open ceiling bedrooms upstairs. This charming home has plenty of room for up to 12 people if the large sofa is used for sleeping as well. There is a queen size bed located down stairs for anyone that may have issues with climbing stairs. There is also a bath on both levels. the bath down stairs also has access to the river so that you don't have to necessarily go through the house to get to it. We also offer the use of a paddle boat, and two kayaks to enjoy the exploration of nooks and cranny's of the river. Plenty of local restaurants in town, however the kitchen is ready for you to cook if you prefer. we provide linens, and towels, but you may want to bring extra towels if you plan to swim often.

Kid friendly clean quiet & relaxing!
We will definitely be coming back! Perfect swimming area for the young ones and the adults loved swimming to the rock in middle of the river. House was very accommodating. We all enjoyed the paddle boat very much. Fishing off the dock was plentiful. Donna treated us with a basket of goodies and was pleasant to deal with. Love love love this treasure of a spot!
It was great having you all. Looking forward to having you back. Thank you so much for the review.
Not worth the price...open “ceilings” = open walls
Open ceilings = open walls in all four bedrooms upstairs. Walls go 8 feet up but not all the way to the ceiling. Sound travels through the entire house.
Paddle boat listed available for use had spiders and spider eggs all over it. Spent
an hour cleaning it only for it not to work.
Large spiders came out of shower drain downstairs. Drain is open PVC pipe.
Way overpriced and did not meet expectations for what’s listed. Booked for a week and left after two nights.
Katrina, again I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I wish you had let me know the problems during your stay. The drain cover was a 3 minuet fix, and I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I'm also sorry you didn't understand that when I posted "OPEN CEILINGS" in the 4 upstairs bedrooms, lends to the "lodge" feel of this home in the description of the home, meant just that, open ceilings. The paddle boat was probably covered in snail eggs not spider eggs. I'm sorry you weren't able to use it but, I am happy you still had access to the two brand new Kayaks this home offers. This home is located right on the Beautiful Rainbow River, and with all that beauty does come things like spiders, snakes, etc. (We maintain monthly pest control for the home.) It also includes things like Egrets, otters, deer, turkey, fish, turtles, etc. For most more than an even trade off. I'm also sorry the "BABY NOISES" you described from the infant that was in your party kept you all from sleeping. So happy I'm past that point in my life. LOL. As you can tell by the other reviews. We strive to make our guest comfortable, and usually are very successful. Sorry I didn't get the opportunity to make this right for you.
Feels far away but so close to everything!
7 of us came down to snorkel with the manatees. The house had room for everyone. The host left fresh fruit and bread, which was so tasty. The couch area was great for everyone to sit at the same time. We took the kayak out and the peddle boat....the peddle boat is very hard to go upstream with. The bedroom walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so noise does bounce around a bit. If you have light sleepers in your group, I would recommend a fan or white noise machine, besides that tip we loved the house.
Relaxing river fun
Great house for a relaxing river holiday with family and friends. Close proximity to rails-to-trails bike trial and spring right in the back yard made it a weekend full of activities.
Great campy fun!
Our large family with many children had a blast. WiFi didn’t really work but we really didn’t care. Would definitely stay there again!
Sorry about the WiFi. It seems to be going in and out lately. I got it up and running, but will give AT&T a call to see that it doesn't continue to have a problem. Glad y'all had a good time, and thank you so much for taking good care of the house. Can't wait to have y'all back. You were the perfect guest.
Fantastic Spot for Great Family Fun!
My husband's mother recently turned 80. We wanted to celebrate her special day in a big and memorable way. We decided a stay on the beautiful Rainbow River would be just the place. We were not disappointed.
First thing when we walked in the door we were greeted with a welcome note and a basket full of fresh fruits. The house was clean and well appointed in an eclectic decor and comfortable furniture. There was even a bed located downstairs. We enjoyed all the amenities of home, including a kitchen with all the necessities as well as a washer & dryer located in the downstairs bathroom. There was plenty of room for everyone with plenty of beds and 2 bathrooms.
My mother-in-law enjoyed seeing the grandchildren swimming and playing off the dock and taking a ride in the provided paddle boat. The river was clean and cool with good visibility of turtles, fish, fowl and other wildlife. Towards the end of the day even the otters offered a delightful past time watching them and their antics as they floated down the river.
Dunnellon is a nice little town and offers various seasonal and on going activities nearby. One place I would like to recommend is a family run restaurant called The Front Porch, located nearby on US Hwy 41, where you will find great hospitality and excellent home cooked meals. If you get a chance to go there, you will want to save room for a slice of one of their wonderful pies. If you find you can't eat another bite be sure to take a slice or two with you for later.
Donna, the owner of this rental, was easily accessible, gracious and charmingly personable. The price of the rental was very reasonable and we all had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this HomeAway location to others. I'm sure you will not be disappointed either. Your stay can be as exciting or relaxing as you want it to be.
As for us, we plan to return in the future to this Fantastic Spot for more Great Family Fun!
Wow! What a great review. Thank you so much. We are glad you guys enjoyed your stay and hope to have you stay with us again soon. Just a footnote. I ( Donna ) just manage the property for the owner Mary.
Thanks again for the glowing review.
