Beautiful, privately-owned, ocean-front studio condo located at The Whaler on world renowned Kaanapali Beach in Maui, Hawaii. 5th & 9th floors gives you breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, famous Black Rock and neighboring islands Lana'i & Molaka'i. Deluxe King bed, couch with pull-out sleeper, flat-screen tv, full kitchen with appliances, private lanai (balcony), free wireless internet, etc. Building boasts same floor laundry, underground parking, private pool, hot tub, lounge and grilling/picnic area, a business center, guest concierge, fitness center and relaxing spa.

Just steps from the ocean- Kaanapali Beach offers exclusive dining, shopping and activities. Kaanapali Beach is minutes from downtown Lahaina- where you can enjoy the same. Maui offers a multitude of activities for you to enjoy: horseback riding, golfing, surfing, sunset cruises, whale watching, biking to the top of the crater, land tours, snorkeling/scuba-diving, deep-sea fishing, parasailing- you name it!
This was our first trip to Hawaii and this Maui Whaler's Condo was a perfect spot for us! We fell in love with the views and whale-watching from the balcony, the perfectly manicured grounds, helpful staff, restaurants and shopping within walking distance, nearby quaint town of Lahaina, and the pool / beaches right at our fingertips! The condo is well-stocked for meal preparation at home, made easy by a full-size oven and grills on the property. The kitchen was stocked with many dishes, pans, and utensils to use -- much appreciated! The full size coffee pot was a delight as well!
The bed, sofa, and easy chair were very comfortable, and the two beach chairs saved us some money during the week. There was a large closet off the bathroom that proved very useful for luggage and undressing. The condo was VERY quiet....it was wonderful to leave the patio doors open at night to listen to the roar of the ocean. We felt the guests were exceptionally quiet and we rarely heard commotion after 10 pm, so we always got a great night's sleep.
I must comment that there were a couple of disappointing features of the otherwise-perfect condo: the carpeting was in dire need of cleaning, and the bathroom was truly due for updating and a thorough cleaning. Inasmuch as we felt the condo was a goldmine in terms of location and setup for vacationing, to assure repeat customers, cleanliness is incredibly important to a vast majority of renters. Admittedly, the turnaround time between guests is likely swift, but time should be allowed for some "deep cleaning." The walls in the bathroom needed a thorough scrubbing, especially near the light switches, and in general, the bathroom looked "tired." We also noticed a very excessive accumulation of dust, etc., behind the bed, nightstand, and dresser where we had to reach for a dropped piece of jewelry. I'm not sure if the owner relies on his Management company to alert him to these issues or not, but they were definitely of note.
We surely hope to return to Maui one day and would definitely consider this particular unit if those minor things were handled. It was a glorious vacation!!
This 9th floor studio condo is a great find. We have stayed at this condo complex before, so we know when we find a great value. Like they say, look for location, location, location. This unit has it.
- 1. Ka’anapali, Maui is great. (All islands are good, but this is a favorite.)
- 2. This condo complex is on the beach in the middle of the action.
- 3. This unit has great views of the ocean, Black Rock and Molokai, 8 miles away.
Located nearby are Whaler’s Village center and 2 great restaurants (Hula Grill and Leilani’s) on the beach. Boat cruises, surf and paddleboards, and other ocean activities are all available in the immediate area. The mile long ocean front Ka’anapali walk with great hotels, restaurants and shopping is at your front door.
The unit is on the shady side of building #2 with a lanai (patio) that we spent much time on while snacking, enjoying a drink or simply watching the ocean and listening to the surf. The unit is clean and nicely furnished. One wall is mirrored so it feels larger than most hotel rooms plus it has a complete kitchen. It may not be the best total remodel available (a granite kitchen is planned by June 2013), but it has all the expected features, small appliances, cooking utensils, and is priced to be a great value. We could have paid more elsewhere, but not received more functionality. We hope to return.
Go ahead. Look around. We think you will likely come back to here for a great Maui vacation at a very competitive rate.
This condo is perfect. Ocean view, close to everything and very clean. I would rate this a five. We enjoyed the waves at night as we slept.
Our first time to Maui, and we couldn't have been happier in this wonderful studio unit at the Whaler. The views were spectacular from the lanai which overlooks the island of Molokai and Black Rock to the northwest and the Kaanapali Golf Course to the east. The unit itself was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We liked the location of the inside shady side of Tower Two, as we could see both the beach and the koi pond below. We loved the close proximity to Whaler's Village where we enjoyed meals and happy hours at Leilani's and Hula Grill, as well as treats at Yogurtland. The snorkeling at Black Rock was amazing with thousands of colorful fish, sea turtles, and sting rays. We would definitely recomment this unit, and would love to come back and stay here again- it was perfect for us.
