The cabin is nestled in nature with views of mountain scenery. Relax in front of a stone fronted wood fireplace. Enjoy the outdoors by grilling lunch on the deck with a view of the mountains. This two bedroom(1 queen & 2 twins), one bath cabin is located central to Highlands, Franklin and Cashiers. Vacationers love to take pontoon rides on Lake Glenville. The cabin is located halfway between Franklin and Highlands, which is close to several beautiful waterfalls and gem mining. We are 22 minutes from Franklin, 30 minutes to Highlands, 20 minutes to Lake Glenville, 35 minutes to Cashiers and less than an hour to Cherokee-All pretty drives.

About Lucy or Len Myers
Len and Lucy grew up in Minnesota and having lived a number of post graduation years in southwest Florida, decided they missed having seasons and decided they wanted a more moderate climate than where they grew up and to escape the rat race.. They discovered the beauty and peacefulness of western North Caroline and fell in love with the mountains.
Lucy or Len Myers purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Lucy or Len Myers chose Sugarfork
The opportunity presented itself for aquiring this charming cabin and we couldn't pass it up.

Local Services & Businesses

All the feel of home.
The surroundings and quiet. We were fortunate the leaves were at the peak of color, what beauty.
Jacksonville, Fall this year has been late and extended. The pear trees are putting in a stunning show now with their peach, orange, red and green, all in the same tree!
Cozy mountain top cabin.
We picked a week to stay in the mountains where the weather was the coldest there in 20 years, but stayed plenty warm inside with the fireplace & wall mounted heater. The drive up the steep mountain road to the cabin is not for the faint of heart, but I actually enjoyed it and was easily manageable in our Yukon. I met Lucy & Len (very nice people) and they were very accommodating. Plenty of things to do in the area and if you like quiet you will love this place. Can't wait to visit again, but next time it will be in the warmer months.
Yukon, Glad you got out daily and found things to do despite the cold weather. It certainly wasn’t for the faint of heart. You are welcome back anytime! Mountain Cabin Owners
A perfect, cozy getaway cabin!
We absolutely loved our 6-day stay at the Myers Snuggery! The location, although remote, was a perfect distance from all of the sites and attractions that we wanted to visit. The cabin was clean and had just about everything we needed for a perfect stay. Just a couple of suggestions (these do not affect my review in any way):
1. The path up to the cabin is gravel and pretty steep. We did make it up fine in our 2WD SUV.
2. The cabin is equipped with internet, but the speed is not fast enough if you're looking to work while on vacation (which was something we truly enjoyed as our main goal was to break the stress-tether and get away from our busy lives).
I can honestly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet time in a place with a gorgeous view!
Jax, The cabin is located at an elevation of 3500’. The driveway provides a gravel access easy to navigate with all wheel drive. Many have made it work without. We have WiFi internet access which occasionally will slow down due to phone line power flux. Management
Quiet and Cozy!
Luxury camping. The kitchen had ample dishes, Cookware, small appliances and utensils. It could use more lights or brighter light bulbs for us with older eyes. It was a very nice week.
Myers Snuggery is the perfect little get away.
We had a great time. Myers Snuggery was the perfect place. Close to everything. We left everyday and was happy to return to our home away from home. It was clean and had all the comforts we needed. Thanks Len and Lucy for everything.
M- Glad you enjoyed your stay and happy our issue was quickly resolved. Of course, you are welcome back anytime. L
Nice get away
Cabin is as shown, clean, working well, water tastes great and hot water is good. Lucy & Len are not far way and very responsive to any inquiries.. Neighbors are unseen due to the woods and mountains but there are a number of homes. The single lane gravel roadway is steep and bumpy in sections. Going slowly in a weighted down Elantra, we did fine though. Internet during our stay was minimal. As roving retirees we depend on the internet and had to spend 2 half days, of our 8 day stay, at the library in Franklin. We could usually get email but could not upload video to Google, nor reliably pay bills using the cabin network. Our AT&T mobile phones also had connecting problems. We REALLY enjoyed Cafe REL in Franklen. The gem museum and old jail museum was very interesting and free plus their gift shop prices were low.
Wisconsin, We regret every aspect of your stay was not perfect. In defense of the intermittent Internet access problems that week, it was right after the hurricane & a tornado came through our area and there were lines the phone/power folks were working to get up and running. Created a lot of downed trees and devastation which has mostly been cleaned up. There was not a lot of compassion on the part of guest. We ARE in the mountains and the phone that works well here is Verizon. We have no problems using our cell phone. Owner
Fun Factory is a wonderful retreat for kids of all ages on a rainy day. Also the Cherokee Museum. Gem mining, waterfalls, Smokey Mountain Center For the Performing Arts. Biltmore House/Asheville great day trip(over 1 million visitors per yr). Cabin is close to Cliff Side Park, which includes walking trails, picnic area/beach and lake for swimming.
