About Margaret

We built this log home in 2005, , we love the peace and quiet of the mountains, We welcome your family and freinds

Margaret is from Liverpool England, and you will notice the references to the beetle's music, including of course the name of the street which the house is on.

John is an avid golfer and can tell you about every golf course in Tennessee and North Carolina.

Margaret purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Margaret chose Wolf Laurel

Golf is available in nearby Tennessee, Name is Buffalo Valley golf course

and also in Weaverville, Rheems Creek golf course which is half an hour NC there are many other golf courses in the area.

besides the beautiful view, we have paved roads and a paved driveway, which makes you feel safer when driving.

What makes this cabin unique

having the owners close by, gives you more amenities for instance, stuck in the snow, we have the vehicle to pull you out, need a cup of sugar just ask, need baby sitters , just ask, or anything else you might have forgotten.

We also have larger Homes that sleeps twelve in the same area

VRBO #768697 and VRBO #1044076

Guestbook comments from the owner

first, I would like to apologize if my guest felt that way about our cabin, we do explain in our listing that we (my husband and I) live on the lower level of the house, I am at present unable to go upstairs as I have broken my foot and cannot walk, but I will speak to my cleaning staff about the condition of the house, I have never had a complaint in all the years I have been in business,

My Husband always goes around the driveway and greets each new guest when they arrive, he knocks on the door if they have already gone inside and they don't hear him he will go in to see if they need any help with their luggage, or need firewood, or any information, which most people do.

Great Porch Sitting Venue

  • 5 of 5

Great property with amazing views. Spacious home, plenty of comfortable seating, well stocked kitchen and even games to play.

The home provided all we needed for our stay. After 2 days in a vehicle we were more than thrilled with the accomadations.

John and Margaret were great concierges.

John met us and familiarized us with the property also had the opportunity to meet Margaret, what an amazing couple and great hosts. Shared several balcony conversations and they had some great dining suggestions in Asheville and surrounding areas.

Penny Lane could be difficult to locate after dark on first arrival but no problem after your familiar with the area.

The porch/patio is all that it appears in the picture, a great place to sit, have a fire, a conversation or just nap.

Highly recommend this property and the owners, they were outstanding.

We will be back....looking forward to it.

Owner's Response: What wonderful guests they were, I love to see people go out and enjoy what these mountains have to offer, also to enjoy Asheville as they did, and they still found time to sit on the deck and enjoy the view and just relax. I do hope hope they return next year

Great view of mountain range

  • 4 of 5

Great View! Close to the ski lodge! Owners are honest, friendly and accommodating.

The tenants in downstairs apartment are in the same cabin as you with only a staircase seperating your vacation noise from them. Feeling obligated to keep our vaction noise to a minimum out of respect for the tendants living just a few steps away.

Other than that the property was great and well maintained. Clean bathrooms clean sheets :-) The fireplace in the great room was amazing and kept us nice and toasty! The fire place on the porch was great for the first chilly night. The kitchen was great and had all the pots and pans you'd need!

Overall, a comfortable cabin. Just know that you will hear them and they you.

We had a blast though! It was also close to a snow tubing hill that looked like a ton of fun!

My staff and I rented this property for our annual coaches retreat to kick off our season. The cabin was clean, lots of room and the morning/evening views were exquisite. I would definitely rent this property again! We had a blast. Thank you Margaret!

Amazing mountain home!

  • 5 of 5

My immediate family lives all over the country so we were looking for a meeting/gathering place for the holidays. This home was the perfect answer. 6 of us slept very comfortably and we enjoyed the wrap around deck and fireplaces. The seating was very comforting and the kitchen was perfect for cooking a Christmas dinner.

Would love to come back!
