We purchased our home in a desirable golf course community. We love Arizona and wanted a warm sunny escape from our home in Washington State
Kandi Renard purchased this house in 2012
We love the area and golf course proximity. We are a five miles from NASCAR race track and baseball Spring training is minutes away.
We love a beautiful private pool and our rambler on the golf course.
WOW, Kandi and Mike have a wonderful vacation home. They were a pleasure to deal with! The minute you walk in, it is not at all like a rental property. The home is very clean and well kept. There are no chips in the walls, or the normal wear and tear you expect in a rental property, it was like walking into your own well kept home! The home is in a nice quiet area in the west side of Phoenix. The house backs right onto the 18th fairway of the golf course (watch out for stray golf balls). It is very close to shopping, restaurants, sports venues and the Nascar race track. The home is spacious with an open concept layout to the dining room/kitchen/living room space. The master bedroom is very large, with a spacious ensuite, with double sinks, separate toilet area, and a very nice glassed in shower with great water pressure, and lots of towels. There is a large walk in closet. The other two bedrooms are a good size. There are no dressers for clothing, but large closets in the rooms. All beds were super comfortable. The air conditioning works very well throughout the house. There are lots of utensils in the kitchen., the whole site is very well equipped. The furniture throughout the house is very nice and in real good condition. There is wireless remote for the garage door, so that is a real nice bonus to keep the sun off your vehicle. There is an Arizona sun room as well, that we did not think we would use, it was awesome. It was getting quite hot when we were there (hit 105 F), and it was a pleasure to sit in that screened in room (ceiling fan) and relax and read a book or enjoy a glass of wine while listening to the ample birds chirping. There is a real nice pool and sitting area outside. The pool can be a little work in the spring as each day we had to skim the pollen from the golf course trees, but that was just a bit of nice relaxing exercise. The only negative to the site was the stray golf balls. We stayed there for just over 5 weeks and collected 27 golf balls during our stay. Most you would find on the grounds or in the pool when you came outside, but on 4-5 occasions we were sitting outside when a ball whizzed very closely past our head. We were a bit nervous when sitting out during daylight hours, and tensed up every time we heard a club hit a ball; a small section of fence screen (8' tall) on the south side fence will fix that and make you feel much safer. Overall a very nice property that I would highly recommend.
I must first start by saying that the owner, Kandi, was very helpful in answering any questions we had, making it very easy to rent her beautiful home! We drove to Phoenix from Windsor, ON Canada and I was worried that I would not receive the information needed but Kandi sent everything beforehand and made our trip worry free! Upon arrival, we were very impressed with the location and cleanliness of the home. The photos on this site are so very accurate of what this house had to offer. We knew our vacation was going to be incredible once we went into the backyard...great pool with 4 lounge chairs (a bit chilly, but it warmed up nicely especially to cool off from the 95 degree temps), gazebo (however there was no cover on it) and the sunroom was very comfortable...should you want relief from the sun.
We were there for a golf vacation and took advantage of Coldwater Golf Club which is directly behind the house (18th fairway is in the backyard)...great price and the staff was very friendly! Just be careful...wayward tee shots end up in the pool LOL!
Amenities: Kitchen was fully stocked with pots & pans, dishes etc., everything you needed to have home cooked meals and should you choose to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants within 5 miles (Pei Wei, great Asian restaurant); the master bedroom had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, including my own! There are pool towels and many extra bath towels in the master bedroom, which was a nice touch! Loved the open concept kitchen/dining/living room area! Grocery shopping was made easy by having the Fry's card on the keychain, great savings. If you like cooking Mexican Food...Food City is the store to go to!
We travelled to Sedona to stay at our time share and played a few rounds of golf...if you get the chance, you must visit this place...it's so beautiful! The Red Rocks are one of the most beautiful things you will ever experience in you lifetime! We drove through the town of Jerome and played golf in Prescott on our way back to Avondale. If you get the chance to rent this house...DO SO! If it's not available I would recommend finding something in this neighbourhood. We are lovers of the Phoenix and surrounding areas and will be returning in the future and would rent this house again...if available! Kandi is wonderful to work with and will answer any questions you might have!

Drive-In Glendale, AZ. Great place, 9 screens and 2 movies on each. In~N~out Burger close, plus lots of shopping. We bought groceries at Fry`s, Get a store card there at customer service it will save you money. We also went to, Wild Horse Pass Casino a couple of times, nice and not to far away. Just east of Phoenix on 1-10.
Drawbacks, nothing major, We have rented a lot of places from the VRBO site, and this is the first place that someone did not make contact us, asking if everything was ok, and too make sure we got in alright. We were asked what time that we would be arriving via email, so she could let her local Mgr. know. We never heard from or seen that person either. We didn't need anything, and got in and out just fine, but a courtesy call or text message and a thank you goes a long way with me.
This was our first time as "snowbirds" in Arizona. We hadn't stayed away from home for more than a month at a time before and I was a little concerned to do so. Now it is time to leave this place and I don't want to go!
It is a wonderful place to call "home" for this amount of time. The kitchen had all I needed to prepare meals. The house itself was clean upon our arrival and easy to keep clean during our stay. It was just as described and the pictures were accurate. The furnishings were practically new and there were many new towels and sheets and pool towels to use. The yard was well attended to and the pool was fun to sit by....the water was just a little cold in February and March. The canopy gazebo in the backyard was so pleasant to sit under even during the 90+ degree days. The shade and the cool breezes were wonderful while relaxing, reading or just enjoying watching the golfers on the golf course.
We were fortunate enough to meet the owners, Kandi & Mike upon our arrival. They were gracious, friendly, and showed us how everything worked at the house. They were also very good about answering questions and taking care of little things that popped up during our stay.
We used the home as a base camp while we visited so many places in Arizona. We took an overnight trip to the Grand Canyon. We made 4 different daytrips to Sedona. We visited Tucson and the Saguaro National Park, drove the Apache Trail, saw Organ Pipe National Monument, climbed up Piestewa Peak (whew), visited the Heard Museum to watch the International Indian Hoop Dancing Competition, attended 3 Cactus League baseball games (go Tribe), hiked the local parks and just had a wonderful time exploring all the sights in this area. This home is so convenient to everything.
We were close to shopping of any kind and yet in a nice quiet neighborhood where kids actually play outside and you can go out and walk any time of day or evening and just enjoy the nice area.
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
