Come Vacation at your very own Casita/Cottage on the wonderful island of Ambergris Caye.
Enjoy the personal care of your Canadian host, Karen! This self-catering one bedroom house is located in San Pedro just south of the town centre with the beach and fine dining only two minutes away. AND TWO SWIMMING POOLS AND BEACH LOUNGERS!!
A lovely one bedroom Casita located in a beautiful, quiet area. The Casita is equipped with air conditioning, 32' flat screen TV in living room, flat screen in bedroom, and wireless internet. Take the provided beach towels to the beach just two minutes from the Casita. Surrounding the Casita is a Tropical garden great for relaxing on the hammock while bird watching or just having a siesta.
I, Karen Young moved to San Pedro in 2011. I was born and raised in Ft. Nelson, British Columbia, Canada then moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I came here from Edmonton where I formerly worked as an Insurance Broker at MBS Insurance Brokers.
Karen Young purchased this cottage in 2011
I am a scuba diver and spent 10 years vacationing at various dive vacations spots. I came to Ambergris Caye for a dive vacation May of 2009 and made the move to enjoy this wonderful country!! It is the whole package with dive sites amazingly close and the underwater life fantastic and a wonderful small personable community.
The property is located in the best neighbourhood in San Pedro! A place to offer an unique experience for guests! A private beautifully maintained property where one can enjoy the beauty of nature. The Casita has a private deck, patio and seating by a hammock where one can relax while soaking up the peacefulness of the garden adorned with plants and trees. There are also numerous birds to watch like the banana bird and hummingbirds that come to drink from the flowers on the property.
My overall experience at the Casita was excellent. The property is in great condition. The Casita had excellent air-conditioning and all the comforts of home and well equipped with all the things we can't bring. The owner Karen was very professional and took pride in making me comfortable with my stay at the Mayflower. Overall a 10.
Karen was great. Prompt at the airport to pick us up. A stop at the store to get some necessities before going to the Casita.
Karen has everything supplied just great. Plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, and linens.
The casita is very comfortable.
Less than a two minute walk to the beach, pools, and restaurants.
We really enjoyed ourselves.
We had a fabulous time in Belize and a magnificent stay at Mayflower Casita. The casita was perfect and had everything we needed and was less then a 5 minute walk from the beach and a short walk to town. It was the perfect size has a great kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Karen picked us up from the water taxi and was helpful and friendly the whole time making us feel like family. She showed us around town, took us to the grocery store and answered all of our many questions. We will definitely be back.
Great stay with Karen .Trinity and Duke...a great host and so glad we stayed there.....clean...close and very comfy..thnx for a relaxing stay!!
Quite, clean, small home was perfect for my wife and I.The yard is beautiful since the owner lives very close and takes amazing care of everything.
Walking distance to almost everything you need (groceries, food, bakery, beach etc.) I still recommend bikes or golf cart to REALLY get around the surrounding areas. Perfect for those who want privacy and independence from being in a resort or hotel. We will be Back. THANKS KAREN! Tony and Suzanne (SLC, UTAH).
This is the place to stay in San Pedro. Quiet, well furnished, and very affordable. We have been going to Belize and San Pedro for a few years now, and are sad that we just now found Mayflower Casita. We won't stay anywhere else on our returns to Ambergris Caye. The grounds are beautiful, and the casita is spacious and well equipped. Everything you need for a great stay in Belize.
Karen, the owner, is a wonderful free spirit who exudes all that is Belize. She is a great host.
The casita is just on the south end of town, out of the way of all the hustle-bustle of mid town.
If you are a newbie to the island, there are two things you will need: mosquito repellent (or as we call it, Belizean aftershave!), and a golf cart. A weekly rental is about $300 US but well worth it. You will get to experience much more of the island and the people if you have one.
We absolutely loved Mayflower Casita and will stay there each time we go to Ambergris Caye. Thanks Karen, we'll see you soon.
Mayflower Casita is located a two minute walk away from the ocean and Banana Beach Resort! Restaurants, beach bars, grocery stores, pharmacy, and bakery are a 5 minute walk away. The tiny 'down town' area is a 20 minute beach walk, a 10 minute bike ride or a 7 minute golf cart ride away. There are many more restaurants, beach bars, shops and grocery stores on the way to the 'down town' area!
Boat pick up for diving, fishing and snorkeling is a two minute walk away to the dock at Mata Rocks!
Mainland excursions leave every day from San Pedro and with ease you stay in San Pedro but enjoy excursions to the mainland to see Mayan Sites, Belize Zoo, and enjoy ZIp Lining and Cave Tubbing!
