This charming, quiet casita has the three L's: Location, location and location! Situated on beautiful, tree-lined Palace Avenue, the spotlessly clean casita is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops on the historic Santa Fe Plaza toward the west, and the leafy, winding River Walk Park to the east, with art galleries and fine dining just across the little bridge that leads to world-famous Canyon Road. The property has its own lovely wraparound garden -- your private sanctuary, where birds sing happily and the gurgle of the river can be heard in the wet season. Neighbors are quiet and respectful. Inside, with a classically 1930s layout and Santa Fe-style details, is a completely updated two-bedroom, one-bath property with central heat and air, a tankless water heater, stackable washer and dryer, and thoroughly modern stainless steel kitchen appliances. The bedrooms are furnished with lush queen beds and spacious closets; the deep tub and shining black-and-white subway tiles in the bathroom add extra charm. Cozy up to the kiva fireplace in the living room on cool evenings, or enjoy some coffee in your own private outdoor space on warm mornings. The tranquil enclosed yard has a garden, a walkway and plenty of space for outdoor dining. Included is off-street parking for two vehicles. This is a great house.
The house is incredibly comfortable, well supplied with everything you need and in a fabulous location.
A little palace on Palace ave. The best area in Santa Fe, exceeded my expectations
This is the best neighborhood in Santa Fe in that it's a nicey residential neighborhood that is just a 15-minute walk to the Plaza and a few minutes to the Canyon Road art galleries. I had stayed elsewhere near there in years past, but that place had been sold. This Casita on Palace Ave is beautifully and functionally furnished - all supplies and accessories on hand. It's set off from Palace avenue, and the back bedroom is especially quiet. There's a large garden outside, inside the fence. The neighbors in this small complex are friendly, and there was no problem squeezing in a few extra cars on occasion for quiet gatherings. There's a garage, and even a convenient place to park and lock up my bike. I hope to come back next year. Not a hitch in any detail, and much more artfully furnished than I had expected.
Great Place, Great Stay
Stayed at this lovely Casita for four months in Santa Fe on business. An absolutely wonderful experience. The Casita is beautifully decorated with a great mix of Santa Fe and contemporary style. The kitchen is furnished with top of the line appliances with plenty of room for cooking. The living room is large with a great fireplace and plenty of wood to keep you warm and cozy. The beds were super comfy with a great comforter. The heater in the bathroom was always a great way to start the morning. Great front yard for the dogs to explore with a very secure fence and gate. Also great off-street parking in the compound. Reliable WIFI and great cable TV in all rooms. The owners, Scott and Irma, were very quick to answer questions and emailed me often just to check-in and see if I needed anything. This is the "real" Santa Fe experience with a short walk to the plaza on a quiet residential street. Truly a home away from home.
Cozy and close to the Plaza
This lovely old adobe is just a short walk to the Plaza. It’s small, but very functional. The kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you need for a short stay. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire in the kiva fireplace and the king bed was very comfortable. On sunny days, we were able to dine al fresco in the lovely coyote-fenced yard. Although we were there in February, it was obvious from the landscaping that the yard will be gorgeous in the spring. The owner, Scott, is great - checking in with us (by email) to make sure our visit was going well and not freaking out when I told him our 6 month old puppy had managed to destroy parts of the watering system. He even initiated the insurance claim for us! Really a nice guy. The only negative about this property is that it gets & stays pretty chilly - probably not great insulation on a house this old. I would highly recommend this rental!
Great location, lovely casita
Beautiful front garden provides lots of privacy from Palace Ave, too bad it was too rainy to enjoy.
Perfect casita, well located
We were very pleased with our stay at the Palace Compound. Our traditional adobe casita was attractively decorated, had a well-stocked kitchen, covered parking, nice linens, and a comfortable king size bed. There was a guest room with a queen (altho' we did not use it), cable tv, and a lovely garden that wrapped around 2 sides of the house. But the best part was the location: 3 blocks down the hill, and you were in the Historic Plaza; 2 blocks up the hill, and you were at the Alameda River Walk and the top of Canyon Rd. Highly recommended!
