Stunning views from 2 huge decks, private jacuzzi, and rustic decor!

Perched high on a ridge, Blue Spruce Chalet offers spectacular views from huge decks and seemingly-endless windows along with beautiful rustic decor and modern amenities! Come on up and barbecue on the spacious upper deck as you delight in the splendid alpine views under crystal-blue skies. Soak in a bubbling jacuzzi on the secluded lower deck while gazing at surrounding evergreens. (In winter, this is a great place to enjoy a snowstorm!) About Marta Neely

I discovered this wonderful house when I needed to retreat from life in the fast lane. Walking by the lake, hiking on the trails, and watching the morning come while drinking coffee on the deck filled me with joy and renewed my spirit. When I needed to return to city life, I just couldn't sell my dream home -- one day, I'll move back for good. I always enjoyed sharing my home with friends and neighbors, so making it a vacation cabin has been a pleasure.

Marta Neely purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Marta Neely chose Big Bear Lake

I had no intention of buying a cabin the day I came up to look at a few properties 'just for the heck of it.' This cabin was the first one I saw -- when we arrived at the next property, I told the realtor, 'Stop! I want that one I just looked at!' The amazing views and the inviting rustic interior were exactly what I wanted, even though I didn't know it until I walked through the front door and saw the mountain views through the windows!

What makes this chalet unique

Luxury and comfort combined with rustic charm make this a wonderful place to enjoy life, but the magnificent views from huge decks are what truly makes this chalet unique!

I often skip the reviews because I do not know what to say. But staying in this cabin turned out to be the greatest vacation we could have taken. The cabin is very nice, and I cannot say enough about Marta, the owner of the cabin. Kitchen was great with everything you need to prepare meals, living room was spacious with comfortable furniture. All three bedrooms were very nice and clean, beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the jacuzzi all weekend, and spent most of the week-end on both lower and upper decks enjoing the scenery playing cards and dominoes, soaking in the sunshine and scenery.. Barbecued steaks and ribs, everything was provided including propane with spare tank and all the cooking utensils. Cosy fireplace, very nice clean bathrooms and bedrooms, washer and dryer were great, we were not expecting that. Met the owner upon arrival, you could not meet a nicer person, she made us feel very comfortable. If you are looking for a nice clean cabin in a nice neighborhood in the Big Bear area, I very much recommend this one. Many times we have been disappointed after arriving at a place after just looking at pictures, but without a doubt, this is one of the greatest places we have ever stayed at. Excellent if you have children because of bunk beds in the large bedroom and the proximity to stores and food on Big Bear Boulevard. If you are looking for a great getaway in the Big Bear area, you just found it. Look no further, just book this cabin and enjoy. Marta was available via phone to take care of any problems, but we had none. Everything in the cabin worked as advertised. We are already checking our calendar to see when we can come back and enjoy this cabin. Thank you Marta for your hospitality, my wife and guests all agree we want to make this cabin an annual event for our birthdays in September........................Enjoy

Nice stay!

  • 5 of 5

Marta is a great host - very informative and understanding. The cabin was spotless when we got there. Plenty of space for 2-3 couples with kids. The views from the desk are amazing. We did not get a chance to use the spa - next time, I guess :) Games, Roku with most popular streaming services, TV's and movies to keep you busy should you stay in. Also, I enjoyed the foosball table! Warm if needed and minutes from everything in Big Bear area. See you next time!

Great decks and location

  • 3 of 5

The decks were great for enjoying the beautiful view, grilling, eating and just hanging out. The house is spacious and we enjoyed the games, jacuzzi and large dining table. The downside of the house is carpet throughout including the bathrooms. Marta was GREAT to work with--available and friendly. The house is in a great location for stores (Starbucks and grocery stores were close -- just down Big Bear Blvd.) and hiking trails. We really enjoyed our time with our little ones and felt refreshed and rejuvenated.

Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This has a view of the slopes off the back deck. Super spacious; could have easily fit two more couples in this place (wife and I celebrated our first Anniversary). Fireplace was great! Having Netflix as an option on the super 3D HD TV was awesome. Close to town. I will be booking this place in the future.

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The property is amazing, 2 decks, fully furnished and everything we needed. The cabin was spotless, well stocked and in such a beautiful location. The views from the top deck were more than we could ask for. the added bonus of the jacuzzi on the bottom deck was an added treat! The property owner was very nice and responded to all our questions and was very helpful. We will definitely book this one again - in the very near future and will recommend this one to all our family and friends. This cabin is a gem, for couples as well as couples with kids. We couldn't have asked for more.

Blue Spruce Chalet is 5-10 minutes away from all of the exciting recreational opportunities on the mountain!! Go for the gusto -- zip lining over the spectacular valleys near California's highest peak! Big Bear Lake has wonderful hiking trails -- you can even connect with the famous Pacific Crest Trail. The lake is a gorgeous site throughout the year. In the summer, go power boating, jet skiing, sailing, or even parasailing! Walk or bike for miles along the lake on a paved path -- those with binoculars might see eagles! The Discovery Center is a great place to learn about the area's native plants and wildlife. Get close to Grizzly and black bears, cougars, bobcats, wolves, and many other animals at the must-see Big Bear (Rescue) Zoo -- one of the top alpine zoos in the world! Stargazers will be thrilled with the billions of stars visible in the night sky! When summer changes to fall, enjoy the bright colors of changing leaves. The invigorating cool, crisp air is ideal for hiking, biking, and brisk walks along the lake. In wintertime, bundle up for downhill/ cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and sledding/ tubing down the breathtaking Alpine Slide! Bring the kids for the outdoor experience of a lifetime! Don't miss the excitement in the downtown Village -- take a ride in a horse drawn carriage, drink hot chocolate as the huge Christmas tree lights up, and visit shops and restaurants filled with Christmas cheer! Alas, when winter ends, spring awakens with bursting blooms and chirping birds. Dust off the hiking boots, unpack the golf clubs and fishing gear, and don't forget the kites and Frisbee -- cool, breezy days and fresh mountain air will lift your spirits as a glorious new season arrives in Southern California's alpine paradise -- sunny Big Bear Lake!
