The traditional house is located in one of the best locations of the village, central but tranquil. Its unique yard, with different vegetation and sitting areas, offers you the best spot to relax and enjoy the magnificient view.
Our house in Makrinitsa, is a recently redesigned stone house on the remains of my great-grandparent's vacation home. The house is located in a tranquil location, offering great panoramic view towards the Pagasetic gulf, the city of Volos and the nearby villages and forests, while on the sime time you are simply a few steps from the main square. Together with the lovely garden it creates the ideal environment for you to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty and becomes your starting point for strolling through the picturesque streets of the village.
The interior of the house remains traditional with many elements of the old house reused for its decoration. Antiques and artworks create a cozy atmosphere and are combined with modern comforts.
The house develops in two levels.
The groun level is occupied by a fully-equiped kitchen including electrical stove, refrigerator with freezer and a small dishwasher, a lounge area with fireplace and dining area and a small WC. There you can also find one traditional sofa, that can be used as one of the beds, upon occasion.
On the upper floor you can find one large living room with the other 3 beds, the bedroom with the double bed and the bathroom. The windows from here offer a view to the rest of the village, Volos city and the sea, while one of them oversees the beautifull garden.
The yard is equiped with a big table, that serves as an open air dinning area and a cozy built bench protected by a large umbrella, a portable barbeque and a relaxing hammock. It also includes a storage room.
You can also find a herbal garden and a small garden where my father cultivates seasonal goods.
Not recommended for people with restricted mobility as there is a stone paved street and quite some steps until arriving to the house. (nothing to worry, though)

Other Things to Note
Makrinitsa is one of the most popular destinations in Pelion and not by mistake. The lush vegetation, the preservation of traditional Pelion architecture, the panoramic view towards Pagasetic gulf and Volos and the many sights, explain its popularity. It is know as the “balcony of Pelion” and as it has been declared as a preserved village, the traditional architecture will really impress you.
Pelion's beautiful green slopes provide the opportunity of additional kinds of tourism and activities development. Hiking and horse riding adventures are offered by the locals through the mountains and if you are lucky you will also watch them revive the tradition of “Maides” during which joyful celebrations take place.
