Our home is a great place to relax and have fun. You can make your outdoor/indoor activity possibilities endless Here!!!!!
My immediate family and some family friends rented the house for a week-long vacation; our ages ranged from 3 to 73. While the house was a bit further from the Tampa and the Clearwater areas than we expected, we enjoyed returning from those relatively crowded areas to a quiet home on a dead-end street right on the water. We generally spent the day at a beach (our favorites were Honeymoon Island State Park and Fred Howard Park); returned home in the afternoon; and then enjoyed drinks and appetizers while playing in the pool. It was ideal, and truly, the best way to end every day!
When there were "problems" (questions about gas for the grill and a weak internet connection), the property manager handled them immediately. There were plenty of places to purchase groceries and everything else we needed (a large grocery store in a strip mall was less than five minutes away). There were also some good restaurants that delivered; it would have been nice if the house had menus for those locations or a list of them. However, we found them via the internet pretty easily.
We had a wonderful vacation, and many of my fondest memories center on what we did "at home." We would definitely stay here again.
Our family enjoyed the house tremendously. The kitchen was well equipped with just about anything you need during your stay. We found the house very clean and organized upon our arrival. The four bikes in the garage were wonderful and used a great deal. We loved the salt water pool!!!! It was very quiet as there is a mangrove across the canal so we saw very few people or boats but very easy access to stores and activities. The reason we gave a four star review is because of the furniture situation. The table sat eight, but if we wanted to watch a movie together on a couple of the rainy days some people had to sit in dining room chairs. There is just not enough seating. Also, the main room can get very noisy as there are not enough soft places for sound to be absorbed. An area rug or two would help tremendously (just a suggestion not a complaint). The owner was very responsive to us when we called him.
We were very impressed with this rental home. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of linens including a stack of beach towels, pool toys (and the pool was delightfully warm--call ahead and ask to have it warmed up for your arrival). Plenty of chairs outside for sunbathing and a large table for eating, nice gas grill. View across the channel was of a Nature Preserve. Very peaceful.
We tried three beaches: Green Key, Fred Howard State Park and Clearwater Beach. We found Fred Howard to be the most convenient, but go to Green Key for a sunset view. If you have a child who hates to be in a car seat, then Clearwater Beach, as beautiful and large as it is would not be the best destination.
Tarpon Springs is the place to go for good Greek food and small stores for souvenir shopping.
We had a mini family reunion, so our age ranges were from a toddler to 80 years old. One person used a bike which was virtually brand new (there are four bikes). There is parking for four cars, two in the garage and two on the driveway.
We would recommend a few more comfortable seats in the main living area, plus night stands and lights next to each bed. A folder with information about the area would be helpful.
The home is set back quite a ways from busy Highway 19, but close enough to major grocery stores and drug stores, etc.
A few minor problems were attended to immediately. We were very pleased overall.
The pool was enjoyed by all, especially my youngest grandson. The pool table was used and some of us won a few games; the beds, showers etc. were fine. And the kitchen was well equipped with relatively new appliances etc. and plenty of dishes and cups. The back-up linens and towels were appreciated as was the washer and dryer. Parking was fine, and the bikes were in superb condition.
We had occasion to call about a few minor items and the response was great. Thanks.
The nearby small beach was clean and the County beach near Tarpon Springs was very clean and good.
The place is a bit removed from museums and upscale shopping, but it is handy to a number of good Greek restaurants and the usual crop of franchises.
This home was absolutely lovely - and even better than expected! The house was immaculate - very clean and well stocked . . . all of the rooms were well thought out and decorated so beautifully! We've rented homes in FL in the past and have found that a lot of the items in the homes were "second best" (linens, towels, furniture etc) - however with this home we felt like everything was top notch, from the appliances to the bed linens. The views of the sunset were beautiful from the living room/dining area. The pool was large and well kept - we spent many days & nights swimming in it. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were well stocked with shampoo, soap etc . . .we felt like we were in a hotel! The home is located on the canal in a nice quiet area - we will definitely stay there again and will recommend this to our family and friends! The owner and manager were very easy to work with and our deposit was returned to us just a couple days after our stay, which was very much appreciated! Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We selected New Port Richey as our base for a week exploring Tampa .We found the location central to all of Tampa's main attractions (which were all under an hour away) and enough near by to explore. The house and pool were very clean and well equipped. There are stairs to enter the house and to go to the pool ,but the kids managed them fine. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in New Port Richey ,it was a superb house in a quiet location.
To explore more travelers can visit Busch Garden, Disney in Orlando with all attractions (about one and half hours) and beautiful beaches in Clearwater (half hour)
