$300K Renovation INSIDE AND OUT - Looking for the perfect place to spend your next vacation? Well, look no further! Up to 6 people can pamper themselves in this spectacular 3 bedroom 2.5 bath villa with its newly renovated transitional / tropical style.
Polynesian Villa is situated mid-island on a professionally landscaped; half-acre lot in one of Fort Myers Beach’s designated “quiet zones”. PV’s deep water canal and lagoon are often visited by dolphins and manatees, not to mention the numerous varieties of fish that can be observed right from your own dock. If you like sugar-white sandy beaches, people watching and beautiful sunsets, you’ll be glad to know that you are just a block and a half away from one of Southwest Florida’s most beautiful beaches. However, if you prefer the peaceful solitude of our own tropical oasis, no problem, just open one of the many glass doors that run the full length of this paradise retreat and slip into your own private (fully caged) heated pool. Or better yet, take a chair to the water’s edge and read a book or just watch the fish jump!
Hugh and I have been visiting Fort Myers Beach for about 6 years. We live in Western PA, just outside of Pittsburgh, in a small town -- just far enough away to call it 'the country'. We both love quiet, peaceful settings where you can get away from the hustle and bustle while still being close enough to get to anything you may need. Fortunately, we've found that on Fort Myers Beach as well.

We were quite happy with our little cottage get-away up near Times Square when a friend told us about a special mid-island house that had recently come on the market. We fell in love with the property the moment we stepped foot in the front door. Everyone who enters our home makes the same comment about the beautiful view. From every spot in the home you have a gorgeous view of the peaceful canal/lagoon. Professionally landscaped, the property provides a big view of the water while still maintaining a feeling of privacy.
We named the home Polynesian Villa to honor the gentleman who built the home in 1966. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1917, Colonel George H. Hollingsworth served 28 years in the United States Air Force before retiring to Fort Myers Beach. Hollingsworth surveyed the sparsely populated area by air in order to locate the perfect spot to build his retirement home, which he mimicked after the peaceful villas he saw while serving as a WWII pilot in the South Pacific. Colonel Hollingsworth also built the Lahaina Inn and established Lahaina Realty, both still on the island today. Stories passed down from the family tell of times where the Colonel hosted dinner parties at the Polynesian Villa with none other than the other famous pilot, Charles Lindbergh. You'll find pictures of the Colonel and his plane in the master bedroom.
We absolutely loved this beautiful home. Everything was exactly as promised. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner just as if we were in our own home. The pool was great. The kids especially loved swimming at night with the pool lights on. Our time there just flew by. Can't wait to go back!
Our family had decided to stay at this beautiful villa October 2013. This was just like home only with all the Florida amenities. The kids loved the pool as well as us adults! After a day of sightseeing and/or at the beach it was nice to come back to our "home" so to speak and relax and swim and make dinner. Only went out to eat a few times. Thank you for the wonderful time we had making such fun and lasting memories! We only wish there could be a couple more bedrooms! We will sure come back, just LOVE Ft.Meyers Beach area!
Our German-American family of 5 spent 3 wonderful weeks at the Polynesian Villa. We enjoyed the clean and beautiful home away from home very much!
There was not one day that our girls (8, 9 and 14) didn't spend hours in the awesome pool while we adults relaxed and enjoyed the canal view.
This home offers everything one needs for the perfect vacation: a great floor plan, lots of space for everyone, beautiful decor (even better than the pictures), great new kitchen where we liked to prepare many meals, very good equipment, nice quality towels and other very good accessories, tools and things.
The short distance to the beach to walk or to drive to and the quiet neighborhood have been an extra bonus.
The owner Rebecca was very generous and helpful to answer all our questions. She takes care of her home and her guests!
We would recommend this vacation home to our friends and family as we had the best vacation ever! We will come back for our next vacation. Thank you Rebecca.
My husband I travel quite a bit for vacations domestically and really fell in love with Ft. Myers and this cozy home. The location is prime if you want to be near water, with the inlet right in the back and the beach just a few blocks away it was prime for what ever we wanted to do. We really liked that it was far enough from the commotion of the "times square" region of the island, but close enough for us to cruise up and have a slice of pizza from Junkanoo or sushi at Zushi Zushi. If we didn't want to stick around the island there is plenty to do in this area, so the location was PRIME! We slept very well in the mast room and woke every morning to the beautiful view of the water and even thought we may have spotted some manatee playing near the neighbors deck - one of the locals told us that is what they were...just looked like big shadows to me. The pool was amazing as well! we spent most evenings just swimming and soaking in the last drop of sunlight until we could turn the pool lights on. My husband LOVED the look of the blue lights in the pool at night. The house also had everything we could need for the week to prepare meals, bbq, relax and zone out to TV. This was one of our most memorable vacations and we will definitely come back to stay at this really great place!
We spent a great week at the villa. It is decorated so beautifully with a great large kitchen. Our 3 adult children joined us with spouses and had an outstanding time.
The house is so great, we only went out to eat once. We enjoyed family time hanging around the pool after a day at the beach.
Our family of 6 adults 2 teens a 6 yr old, 19 month & 2 month old spent 7 days in this beautiful well maintained home. For us there was nothing to want for, we good fish, sun bath, walk the beach, swim in beautiful pool that we were pemitted to set the temp for our comfort. The owner Rebecca was wonderful to work with. The beds were very comfortable, linens exceptional and the master suite had a view of the canal palm trees and pool. The two refrigerators and 2 washers and dryers were an added bonus. Very comfortable home to stay in. We loved every minute of our stay even with the cooler weather in Dec. We hope to return next year. Fort Wayne IN
