About the property

Lake & Mtn views: 5,000+ SF cabin - Peaceful & Quiet yet full of amenities.

Welcome to the finest cabin in all of Arizona!! Peace and quiet far away from anything busy combined with high-end living. This newer and spacious cabin is located on a secluded lot inside the exclusive community of Hidden Meadow Ranch, the most prestigious private ranch community of the White Mountains of Arizona. The lot overlooks a lake and lush green mountains and borders millions of acres of beautiful national forest land full of wildlife, pine trees and crisp clean air. The area is so secluded that it is common to see elk and other wildlife feeding in the meadow or swimming in the lake on an early morning. The tap water in the cabin comes from a community well and is BETTER than bottled water! This cabin has all of the luxury amenities expected with a high-end home yet is casual enough to accommodate large families with children. This is simply the most gorgeous land in all of Arizona and you will not be disappointed! Guests may have access to Hidden Meadow's amenities or services but there is no guarantee of availability and arrangement / payment would need to be made directly with Hidden Meadow Ranch.

As mentioned above, the cabin was built and designed to accommodate the owner's large family, but we limit the amount of guests to 15 total. The cabin is two stories with two bedrooms upstairs (along with a large loft / game room) and 3 bedrooms downstairs including the Master Bedroom. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are plenty large and the bedrooms could easily accommodate multiple young children sleeping on the floor if needed. Each of the bedrooms has a private bathroom with it.

The first floor of the cabin also includes a spacious kitchen, dining room and living area with a large gas fireplace and piano. There is also a half bathroom, computer area and a laundry room. The living room / dining room has excellent window views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The cabin also has a two-car garage and other cemented areas for multiple cars.

As seen in the photos, there is a large play area for children with multiple swings and a large Ramada. The Ramada is owned with the adjoining property owner and can be rented for $30/day extra. The Ramada has an outdoor fireplace, 2 BBQ grills, an outdoor sink and has more than enough room to seat everyone. This is perfect for outdoor eating, dancing or entertaining during the summer months. The Ramada is not available during the winter months.

The property sits next to a lake stocked with rainbow trout. The lake is owned by the Hidden Meadow Ranch owner's association and would be available for guests under specific rules. The fishing (fly or regular for small children) is available on a catch and release basis only.

The cabin is ONLY 15 miles from the turn-off to Sunrise Ski Resort on highway 260. Perfect spot for a ski vacation during the winter.

**PLEASE NOTE: The cabin next door is owned by a family member of the owner of this cabin and may be available to rent. The floor plan is the exact same and the interior is just as nice. We use both cabins to accommodate our large extended family and we couldn't be more comfortable. If you have interest in renting both cabins together, please contact Jeff to ask about availability. Prices and rates for the second cabin would be the same as quoted.

About Jeff Andersen

The cabin is owned and used frequently by the Andersen family from Mesa, AZ.

The Andersen family purchased the land now known as Hidden Meadow Ranch in the mid 1980's from the original homestead family of the early 1900's. The Andersens built ~15 small cabins, a barn and lodge on the ranch in the mid 1990's and operated the property as a family guest ranch until the early 2000's when it was sold to the current owners of the resort. Fortunately, the family retained one of the lots and eventually built this cabin to use as a place to build lifelong memories with other family members.

Jeff Andersen purchased this cabin in 2009

Ultimate Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Myself and two of my best friends decided it was time to retreat from our normal grind by escaping the city and heading north. I volunteered to look for a cabin that would meet our criteria of: a lot of space to accommodate our families, luxurious but without sacrificing the "cabin" feel completely, a large kitchen and access to hiking trails. This cabin was all that and much, much more. We had the best time just hanging out in the living room in front of the huge fireplace playing games. The pictures of this place don't do it enough's phenomenal, seriously. Every bedroom had a bathroom and because all were nice it made it very easy to assign rooms and not feel guilty!

In addition to the beautiful accommodations, Jeff was a delight to work with. Because of a terrible wind storm we had the power go out. Within 30 seconds the newly installed generator kicked on and we were good to go and didn't miss a beat of fun. Jeff called to check on us to make sure A. the generator was working as planned since he hadn't needed to use it and B. to ensure we weren't without anything as a result of the outage. It was GREAT to be at a place that was prepared- as I've come to find out, many aren't!

Bottom line: if you're looking for an upscale retreat to the mountains there is no need to look any further. We will absolutely be back with our Mountain Bikes once the season turns!

Thank you, Jeff!

Palace--er--Cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Nestled in the pine and aspen groves just north of Greer, a secret hideaway awaits a family with grace and style. This "cabin" is indeed made of logs, hand hewn 24 inchers which support and surround granite counter tops, 5 master bedrooms, and natural wood floors. The stainless steel appliances and gas stove will appeal to the gourmet cook, while the pine trees and trout pond call to the kids and young at heart. We pulled fish from the catch and release trout pond with fly rods while the younger kids wrestled with crawdads in the shallows. The teenagers held hands and went for long walks along pine shaded roads. My parents kicked up their feet on the porch, drank lemonade, and watched the fun unfold around them. This place is a true treasure! We are so grateful to have had the chance to visit and unwind in the cool forest breezes...

The cabin and surroundings were wonderful and calming.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautifully maintained and there was obvious attention to little details included in the planning and building of this incredible property. We stayed 3 nights with our married children, spouses, and grandchildren. The swings, pond, serenity of the wrap around deck, and amazing thunderstorms were a high point with all of us. The bedrooms were set up to be family friendly and allow room for an entire family in one bedroom with a private bath in each room. The gathering areas were perfect to meet the needs of our group. Each one of the adults remarked that this was their favorite family cabin trip experience and they want to go again soon. We have been going on cabin trips to Greer for 12+ years and this was the BEST. The directions to the cabin and help to settle in when we arrived went very smoothly. The cabin was clean and inviting. Thank you Andersen Family for sharing your lovely home with our family.

Perfect for large families!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time staying at the Andersen cabin in Greer!! It is so spacious and the loft on the 2nd floor is perfect for kids, they can play pool, play ping pong, play games, watch movies and so much more. The large kitchen is open and is so easy to prepare meals. We loved sitting on the back porch every morning and enjoying the serenity and beautiful scenery. We stayed at the home in the summer. Each morning we went for an excursion, wagon ride, Sunrise Ski area, hike and then in the afternoons we stayed at home and spent time outside at the pond and on the swings. July is monsoon season in Arizona so we did have some afternoon thunderstorms but we planned for it and never got caught in the rain. We saw some elk at dusk one evening and really enjoyed the beauty of the area. The kids had a great time together, so much room to run and play. Jeff Andersen was great to deal with, very responsive and helpful. The home was spotless and well maintained. I highly recommend this beautiful home!

Truly an Upscale Rustic Cabin Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Andersen Log Cabin was amazing! If you have a large family, this is the place to stay. The cabin sits off a pond/lake with gorgeous views. All the rooms were spacious and had their own private bathroom (which was great for our large family). Two rooms had their own fireplaces as well. The kids loved the loft area upstairs for watching movies in the media area and playing ping pong and pool. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything you would need for preparing your meals. There were 10 bar stools at the counter along with an enormous dining room table for everyone to sit at for meals. The location was great for skiing, but the 6 1/2 mile cinder road off the highway to the Hidden Ranch doesn't get plowed right away. So if you're staying during the snow season, make sure to be careful. Even with 4 wheel drive you may have to wait till it's plowed if there is a lot of snow.

Jeff, the owner, was very nice and helpful. He was very involved in the rental process. This is their family cabin and you can see that they have many years of memories there. The Andersen family also has additional family cabins next door, so that's why there is a Ramada outside between their cabin and the one next door. We didn't use this since it was winter. There were swings outside for the kids too. During the summer there are plenty of outdoor activities to do. Since their cabin is within a gated community, you will have to deal with the people that run the community center (to get keys, get the gate code, etc.)

The closest amenities for food and gas are in Eager (Bashas).

Everything was very clean and very well maintained. We definitely recommend this for large families.

Owner's Response: Thank you Lizz for the kind review and for your patience! We hope your family can come again in the near future. For future guests who may be considering the cabin during the winter months: the cinder road is usually not a problem during the winter months unless there is a large snow storm (1ft+ of snow). In that case, state/county plowing resources usually go to the main highway first and county roads second. This guest happened to be leaving the morning after a large snow storm and was delayed leaving that morning. This was the first time any of our guests have been delayed due to weather.
