This is the second time we’ve stayed in Thomas’s cottage, which says it all really! It’s a lovely cottage in it’s own garden in a quiet location above Llanfairfechan. There’s a fair chance that we’ll be back again in a couple of years!
Fabulous cottage for a peaceful family holiday
This is a lovely cottage and very comfortable for a family. It has everything you need and is a home away from home. The village centre is a 15 minute walk away with a small but well stocked supermarket.
It is really quiet and peaceful. A perfect base for exploring North Wales!
A lovely cottage in a great location for visiting Snowdonia and the coast. Owner very welcoming and the home made shortbread was delicious!
This stone cottage is a magical place located just outside the Welsh village of Llanfairfechan. As a solo traveler from the US without a car, I hiked the trails into Snowdonia National Park across the lane several days during my 10-day stay. I sometimes opted for outings to other destinations in the area via bus or train. The cottage was lovingly and skillfully renovated, and is beautiful, comfortable, and has everything I needed. I chose to prepare my meals in the well-equipped kitchen and pack lunches for my long hikes. The local grocery store has a good selection and is within walking distance, making this an easy routine. Thomas, the owner, lives nearby and was incredibly helpful with travel logistics and local information. Overall, my expectations were far exceeded and I am grateful for such a memorable time here.
Unspoiled Welsh countryside
Thomas and Mair are friendly and responsive hosts who live just up the hill from this lovely spot. There are many hikes that you can take without even getting in the car, and the beach is a 20 minute walk away. From there, you can easily reach a nature reserve with bird blinds and well marked trails. Our advice for future guests? If you are hiring a car, make sure it is a small one as the access to the drive is narrow, and bring rubber-soled slippers for cool mornings (the floors are wooden and a bit slippery in sock feet). All in all, a beautiful place to be.
Great cottage, superb location with great garden and views. Photos on website don’t do justice
Really well equipped with lovely design and great garden. Faces the right way with plenty of sun and a sea view over the bay. Scenic area and lovely and quiet. Easy to get to with the North of Snowdonia and Anglesey on your doorstep. The Welsh Highland Railway, Plas Newydd and Aber Falls were personal highlights
Sited on a country lane with easy walks from the cottage to village shops and beach. On the edge of Snowdonia National Park the mountains of the Carneddi Range, with its famous wild ponies, can be reached without transport.
North Wales Coast attractions, The Castles of Conwy and Caernafon, the resort towns of Llandudno and Betws y Coed and the steam railways at Caernarfon and Portmadoc are all within reach by car.
Llanfairfechan has a clean, safe and sandy beach and the town has two well stocked stores and a selection of Public house/restaurants and takeaways.
Other Activities: bird watching, water fall
