We were looking for a secluded cabin for our honeymoon when this one came up, with a name Hide-a-away, we thought it would of been quite, secluded cabin (because that's the search we put in..). We were wrong, the bedroom faces the road so any car that comes by shines brightly into the window right at the bed. The lights in the hot tub doesn't work, neither did the blower. The hot tub is on the same side as the road, doesn't offer much privacy when the sun is down and the lights outside are on. There was very little privacy (from all sides of the cabin) the microwave didn't work at all, the shower was clogged and I had to use a plunger to unclog it. Shower was also smaller than what the pictures let on. The beds were pretty hard, so were the pillows, I could barely sleep on them. The best thing about the cabin was how close it was to parkway. For us, it was a really lousy way to spend our honeymoon, should of researched more before booking. We made the most of it.

Very nice!

My family really enjoyed our stay! I was worried when I saw the bed comments but they must have changed them because they didn't squeak at all and were very comfortable! We will definitely stay again!

Great weekenduld

Nice cabin. Good location. A couple of miles off the main Parkway. It is in a neighborhood of rentals, but they aren't right on top of each other. Nice paved roads to walk our dog on. Only draw back was having to bring our own wood??

A great mountains getaway

  • 5 of 5

I loved my stay at hide-away! I was a little nervous about the comfort of the beds after reading past reviews, but was glad to discover they were extremely comfortable. I was also happy to find the cabin was clean and updated. I would definitely stay here again!

No sleep

  • 2 of 5

I hate to right a negative review but after much thought, I must do so. Ever October for the past 20 years we come to the Smokes and always stay in a cabin. Although it is more expensive to do so, we enjoy the privacy, a wood burning fireplace, and room to move around. This year we rented Hide Away. Everything looked just fine until bed time. Sleep is very important, especially after traveling 6-8 hours. The box springs on the main floor are completely worn out! It does not support the mattress and is loud. In fact it was so bad that for the rest of the trip, we placed the mattress in the floor! Now for the mattress, they are both inexpensive and need to be replaced. I weigh 175lbs and sank like a rock. PLEASE replace them both! I would strongly discouraged anyone from spending hard earned money on this cabin until this is done.

very nice location

very nice cabin, but the beds were very noisy both of them and i think if you have a fireplace in a cabin you should provide the wood, we had issues with the Hot tub it kept kicking off i guess it was over heating, called about it but don't think they ever came to look at it.
