Hidden charges, poorly equipped!
The place was not even ok to stay for a short time but even worse for a long period. We stayed for near a month. It wasn’t well equipped. Broken utensils in kitchen and very chipped and damaged pans. Terrible bed and old lumpy pillows. The internet service was poor and we got charged for it. The power kept going out as well. The road to get to the place is very bad. It was supposed to be gravel , but it actually was giant rocks! Horrible road! What made our stay ok was the views of the mountain and Johny! He was the maintenance guy and he was so incredibly nice and helpful. He truly is great a great asset to that place. The price of the stay was very reasonable but you get what you pay for. The pool was most of the time dirty. We used it only after they cleaned it. Gave it a 3 star because of Johny!
Great, convenient place to stay on the Central Coast!
My husband and I had a great stay at Cascada Azul! If you happen to coming to Costa Rica to look at retirement options, I can highly recommend staying here. It is very convenient just up the hill from Dominical Beach which gives you access not only to Central zone beach communities but also the Southern zone and Perez Zeledon as well! Not too far off the beaten path, but far enough that you feel you are definitely in the jungle. The manager Keiston is fantastic. He was very helpful, speaks perfect English and will do whatever you need to be comfortable. His helper, Johnny is fantastic as well. They keep the area and pool spotless so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the view. You will probably see one or two Pizotes coming by to say hello. Cutest things. Toucans, buzzards and hawks cruise around at eye level and butterflies and hummingbirds are always in view. Parking (4x4 definitely needed) is right at your door and you will feel very very safe. If you are there on a Thursday, I highly recommend visiting the HUGE farmers market up in Perez Zeledon. The colors are overwhelming. Keiston can give you directions and it is not hard to find and has a huge parking lot. Have fun!
A little piece of paradise
As we were ascending the steep gravel road up the mountain to the property I'm sure my wife was thinking she should have never let me talk her into staying here. However, once we arrived she realized the setting and view were well worth the effort of getting there. I guess October is still the slow season because we were the only guests on the property so we had this little 'Garden of Eden' all to ourselves. We really wish we would have been able to have stayed longer than only 2 nights. The condo was clean, modern and well equipped and as I mentioned earlier the view from the patio was to die for. The property is perched on the side of a mountain slope overlooking a verdant valley with a glimpse of the ocean in the distance. The peace and tranquility we enjoyed during our stay would be hard to replicate anywhere. Just the sounds of the birds and animals in the jungle forest. The only people we encountered were the caretakers and they were very discrete. We didn't opt to use the AC as the ceiling fans in every room were quite adequate at keeping the temperature comfortable except during the heat of the day at which time we'd refresh ourselves with a cool dip in the pool. Keiston did a good job communicating all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. Lots of things to see and do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed visiting the local wildlife sanctuary. All in all one of the best travel accommodation experiences we've ever had. I hope we can make it back someday soon. Great value and highly recommended!
This home was an exceptionally nice with everything we could want to make our stay comfortable. I especially enjoyed the ocean sunsets in the evenings from the back patio. It is in a great location convenient to the beach, zip lines, horseback riding, waterfalls, and lots of other excursions, so it was a great home base to experience Costa Rica. Everything was clean and well maintained and the property manager was very attentive to any questions or needs we had. I loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is located up in the mountains, but only a short drive from Dominical. It was the best of two worlds, close to the beach, parks and restaurants, yet in a very private setting with spectacular views. After a full day of exploring we would return to the villa to grill our dinner and take in the sunset and soak in the pool. The house was very clean and modern and perfectly set up for a couple. The owner was available to answer any questions or solve problems. He provided us with detailed written information on all the beaches in the area, restaurant recommendations and excursions to go on. We followed his advice and was not disappointed. We had a magical time in this part of Costa Rica. Would definitely stay again and recommend it
We stayed in this wonderful home for 2 weeks. It was everything we could have hoped for. Close to the towns, ocean, beaches and anything you could need. This home came with all amenities needed. The view is breathtaking and I couldn't have asked for a better place to wake up. There are toucans every day, usually at sunrise and sunset outside in the trees. Wildlife is everywhere! There is also a magnificent waterfall up the road, which is to die for. The peace and quiet and serenity of this property is something you can’t find very often, yet still close enough to go out shopping, for dinner or explore the country. Keiston is extremely helpful. I sent him a ridiculous amount of emails with questions and he didn't hesitate to answer them and help me, which made our vacation even more pleasant knowing what we should expect. He was always available if we needed anything and gave us lots of advice on things to do nearby. If you're going to Costa Rica, this is the place to stay. Great value, great owners, and a spectacular home.
