About Glenn or Laura

We live and work in Orlando, Florida but found our favorite vacation spots are not overcrowded beaches, highrises & tourist attractions, rather, we enjoy areas like this nature coast paradise. We chose this place because we felt others would enjoy a unique kind of place with lots of space, privacy and being on the water. We think our rental has a relaxing cottage-in-the-woods feeling, is rejuvenating, serene and once you get here you will not want to leave.

Why Glenn or Laura chose Homosassa

If you are looking for a private natural setting with gulf access that is comfortably furnished, well equipped & very clean, but is not fancy and not as pricey give us a call.

We will handle your reservation personally and we respect our guests privacy first and foremost. Ask about the special services we offer.

What makes this cottage unique

Lots of parking space for your RV, boat, etc.

Very private, quiet setting of unspoiled nature with access to the Gulf of Mexico and other popular and endless waterways. Popular fishing and scalloping destination.

Very Comfortable and CLEAN!

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the most comfortable, cleanest places we have ever stayed! From the minute we pulled in the tree lined driveway - we knew we had chosen the right cottage for our get-away from the cold weather in Michigan! The cottage was absolutely spotless - clean, clean, clean. Even the coffee pot filter basket! The beds were comfy with very nice linens and the quilts/bedspreads were Clean and Fresh! The pictures of the cottage are pretty much exactly how it looks. Huge living room and kitchen. The grounds are well kept and very peaceful with lots of wildlife around. Very private. We fished off the dock and caught a few small fish. Did not get to see any manatees or otters - but, that's ok - maybe next time :-) . WiFi connection was great. Everything was great! Excellent communication with Glenn and Laura - wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back!!

Loved everything about this cottage. It was close to the gulf but secluded enough to be quaint.

The property allows for privacy. It was clean, well stocked. Fish right from the dock.

  • 5 of 5

We came to the area for scallop diving and fishing. Had a great time with both. The property was clean and well stocked. Fishing from the doc was great. Hammock and canoe got used. We played games that were there as well as those we brought. Vacationing with teenagers: spotty cellular but great wifi . Turn on wifi calling for us adults.

Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful, peaceful and quiet, we saw Deer at the end of the long driveway, Otter and manatee playing in the creek and hummingbirds outside the porch window at the feeders. Glenn and Laura were there to meet us on arrival and Glenn was kind enough to show us how to navigate the rather treacherous waterway out to the gulf. It was perfect that Glenn ad Laura accept dogs of any size (not just lap dogs). The whole family enjoyed the stay. Thanks Glenn and Laura for a wonderful, peaceful week. We need another afternoon for Sangria's on the dock

Very much as described. The perfect place to enjoy the peace and quiet.

First, a little about the area. If you are interested in this property you have probably done some research on this part of Florida. It is relatively laid-back. Speeds limits are slow and there is little traffic once you leave Rt. 19.

Our lifestyle where we live is pretty much the same so we felt right at home. Glenn, the owner, met us upon our arrival and walked us through everything. We were pleased with the size, cleanliness and amenities such as kitchen condiments, use of the phone because cell phone service was spotty. When we arrived we must have brought a cold front from up north with us because the first two mornings were quite cool and we had to use the heat in the house. However, by the time we left the temperatures were perfect and we never felt a drop of rain. We often ate lunch or dinner on the screened porch. Since this property is at the end of a dead end there was no traffic. We walked daily through the neighborhood with our dog on a leash and maybe encountered 4 vehicles during our 10 day stay. Other houses are set back from the road and all are well kept. If you are bringing a boat then there's a boat launching spot a couple of blocks away. Since we found only a few good restaurants we alternated cooking dinner and eating out. We did find a great fresh fish "shack" on the water and a small place that sells smoked barbecued ribs and smoked mullet, etc. Florida has over 100 state parks so there is plenty to see within a short driving distance. The dock on the creek or channel allowed us to sunbathe or fish and the neighbor across the creek kayaked over with some minnows to assist with my fishing endeavors. Although cable TV is available we aren't TV people so I did get through two large books. Definitely a place for a peaceful, quiet vacation.
