This is a lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo located on the 9th hole of the Robert Trent Jones Waikoloa Village Golf Course. It has plenty of sleeping arrangements to accommodate up to 6 guests.
Unfortunately the view is the best part of this unit. We inspected this unit in April and we pleased with it. You will notice the last review was in April 2015. Subsequently it was rented out long term and the tennants appeared to let everything go. Had it been in the the current condition back in April, we would not have rented the unit.
There is little I can recommend other than the view and the rate for a three bedroom three bathroom unit.
It was close for all family members that was attending a wedding at Waikii. There was enough accommodations for all. The children enjoyed the pool and the adults the hot tub. The walking distance to the golf course and the view of the 9th hole with a beautiful sunset was unforgettable. Thank you for the guest parking passes for two vehicles, and the guest cards for golf or pool use. Will return another time to relax. Zack & Jess
I will start with the Pro's, John Landers the property manager was the best ever, he was so helpful threw out the whole transaction, even for questions while there. Felt like a very safe , easy to find and welcoming area. Huge place with all the room we could have wanted. Beds were comfortable, balcony was a pleasure watching turkeys in the morning and golfers during the day. Easy location for a great groceries store. The breeze that blows threw there was so great, no need for air conditioner. We all enjoyed the condo.
Now the Con, I truly believe you have to find a different cleaning service. The rugs were filthy, especially around the edges of the rugs.(please John, go take a look) Its like they vacuumed middle and never touched edges. Window shades all falling apart, wall paper peeling off. So bottom line is place was wonderful except for being dirty.. ( wish there was a place I could have posted pictures I took of place)
Eight members of our family spent a week on Hawaii for vacation and a conference. We chose this condo, that sleeps eight, for its proximity to the conference at the Hilton. It was a great central location for access to beaches, Kailua-Kona, Kohala, and Volcano Village and National Park. We did both sight seeing: coffee plantation, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Park, Puako/Malama Petrogylph Trail to mention a few; and visited several beaches for snorkeling and swimming. Hapuna Beach was the largest white sand beach we enjoyed. We saw spinner dolpins at Hokena and Mauna Kea Beach. Snorkeling was best at Kahalu'u Beach, but also good at Hokena and Waialea Beaches.
Waikoloa Village was a great spot with a shopping center, gas station, and a couple restaurants only ten minutes off the Queen Hwy. Although we didn't play golf, it looked in good shape (even with the wild turkeys every morning) and we enjoyed the golf course restaurant, Banji's for dinner one night. Pueo's Osterial was a great Italian restaurant in the village. The pool was a great hit with kids, even after spending time at the beach all day.
The condo complex was built in late 70's and this condo shows it. It was tired, outdated and in need of major remodeling work. The unit needed a thorough dusting and cleaning, including carpets bed covers and family room rug. Kitchen appliances were newer, but family room television was in need of replacement. The property manager was more than accommodating in allowing flexibility around check-in and check-out times and in addressing some repairs. The 3 bedroom condo was comfortable for us, but our two children slept with others or on top or couches instead of folding them out and then back away each day. The unit is at the end of the building so maybe a little less quiet with neighbors on only one side, however, one bedroom faces the street and was a little noisy for sleeping with windows open.
Very enjoyable stay and exactly as described/explained by manager (John L.). Good shopping within 25 miles (pretty much the same as the rest of USA). Recommend reading "Hawaii the Big Island Revealed" by Andrew Doughty for things to see and do also includes great driving maps. The Condo was very good, John was Great. Note - for lower golf prices, check out golfnowdotcom. I my round at the village was $23 including the cart!!!
