Amazing location. Perfect for seeing the best NYC has to offer.
We have stayed in this rental before, and it remains our favorite NYC landing spot! The apartment is spotlessly clean and well equipped, with plenty of room for the two of us plus occasional visitors. The location is as good as it gets, easy access for all the theaters, fantastic Hell's Kitchen restaurants, and quick walk to the subway stops. This trip we enjoyed a couple of shows (Curious Incident.., and American in Paris were both great), and some museum time including the Tenement Museum on the lower east side, well worth the visit. Also made use of Seamless app for delivery of a couple of great simple meals to the cozy and comfortable apartment, as well as enjoying a very good Italian meal at Amarone, and a great meal at Keens with our son who lives in Brooklyn.
However beyond all that, the best part of this particular VRBO spot is the owner/hosts, who make it as if you really are staying at the place of longtime friends or family. They are welcoming and meet you in person to make sure you have everything you need, and answer any questions about the area. A much more personal and friendly approach makes for an easy and low-stress stay.
Making a return visit is of course the best recommendation anyone could make, and we will for sure be back yet again!
First: This lovely apartment is located in a very nice, non-touristy West Side area. Hell's Kitchen has come a long way since we first visited in the '70's. There are a great variety of excellent restaurants nearby, including our favorite Greek Taverna: UNCLE NICK'S. It is only a block away from the apartment and a few steps further brings you to the AMISH MARKET - a wonderful market/deli where we shopped for breakfast goodies. Even closer is EL AZTECA where the charming Maria and her staff greeted us warmly each afternoon as we stopped for a beer or Frozen Margarita after a day of sightseeing.
Our hosts were charming and attentive to our needs and the apartment had all the necessary amenities in the kitchen and bath.
Second: It is easy walking distance to the Broadway Theatres which were our principle reason for visiting Manhattan. We saw several shows and our favorites included SOMETHING ROTTEN, and THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME. It is also easy walking to most Midtown locations as well as Central Park. And a convenient subway stop is only a couple of blocks away for more distant excursions. We visited the Lower East Side Tenement Museum on two occasions. They offer several different tours and it is a great history lesson about early New York.
We certainly plan to book this place again when we come to New York.
Great location! Walking distance from Times Square, theaters, Rockefeller Center and the subway, not to mention all the great restaurants in Hell's Kitchen. Our hosts were very accommodating and the apartment was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. In five days we were able to see 3 shows, MoMa, Freedom Tower, Times Square, Chinatown, Little Italy, visit with friends and family and enjoy great meals. The Marshal is a must "farm to table" place nearby and we also recommend Bea for a pre-theatre treat (close to broadway). I would highly recommend this apartment!
We are sad to have just made our departure from our NYC apartment. This apt was perfectly located in Hell's Kitchen between Central Park and Times Square. Felt totally safe walking a few blocks to Times Square and enjoyed leaving the hustle and bustle of it when we were ready to come home to a quieter neighborhood. Managed to do quite a bit in our 5 night stay but ran out of time and still had a long list of things we wanted to do. We really enjoyed our first night’s dinner at Georgio’s Country Grill one block away from the apartment. Highlights included going to Madison Square Garden to watch a RANGER's game. My friend’s son was a big hockey fan and it was just awesome to be in that legendary arena. We went to The Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island on our last day and took way too much time there but “she" was beautiful and I even got teary eyed! Subway and bus were easily managed to find our way around town and we never had a terrible meal. If you have a chance go to La Pulperia on 46th St, order a cocktail called Pulperia Otono...DIVINE! The apartment was fabulous and comfortable and we could not have asked for more. I am going to go home and convince my husband and kids to come back with me next time! I will definitely stay here again.
The suite is well located and well appointed. The hosts were gracious and available, although everything went so well we had no need to call on them.
This location is perfectly nestled in between Times Square, Central Park, and the BROADWAY shows theatre district. You also have the Hudson River only two blocks away. 9th Avenue has an array of incredible cuisine and the best (reasonable) restaurant row in all of Manhattan.
Defined as the area from 36th Street to 59th Street, Midtown West has many great attractions worth seeing:
Times Square, Central Park,
Broadway Theater District,
New York Public Library,
