Welcome to 'Al's Hideaway'! You will find a peaceful and comfortably appointed home away from home, fully furnished and equipped. Time spent here will be quiet and relaxing while being close to the beach just down the hill.
The inviting upper and lower decks, large yard and hammock under the walnut tree provide the perfect combination of sun and shade for your outdoor activities. Located on a very small and quiet street, surrounded by lilacs and roses, the property is appreciated by young and old.
The house has 3 bedrooms and a TV/family room. The master bedroom has a queen bed, ensuite bath and access to the deck. The second bedroom has a queen bed, the third bedroom has a double bed and access to the patio, the TV/family room also has a single bed. All bedrooms have blackout window coverings to ensure deep rest (great for little ones who don't want the day to end!)
In the open concept living area, the deck access and windows add to the feeling of spaciousness. The kitchen is fully equipped with the outdoor dining/BBQ area just outside the garden doors.
On the lower level, the newly renovated main bath is complete with in-floor heat, inviting tub/shower and large linen closet. The laundry room provides an extra large capacity steam washer/dryer, folding area, storage and lovely view to the yard.
This is a great place to come home to after a day spent enjoying all the activities the Okanagan has to offer, any time of year!
I have been visiting family in the Okanagan for 25 years and this spot provided everything on my wish list!
Walking into the living room for the first time, I felt like I was on the bow of a boat with all the windows looking out to the yard, lake, valley and Naramata! Easy walking distance to the water, marina, beautiful gardens, panoramic lake and valley view, quiet and private. I saw that layout of the house would be perfect for multi-generational visits with space for together and alone time, and still feel cozy for smaller groups. Heavenly!
I just wanted to say we had an absolutely tremendous time at your house. It blew away our expectations and we cant wait to come back!! We were looking at possibly coming next year for 10 days or two weeks.
Again thank you so much. I didnt end up touching the sprinkler timer since it didnt effect us the rest of our trip.
Again thank you so much.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer!

What a splendid location for a summer holiday and family reunion. Peek-A-Boo Cottage met all the requirements for six adults and two children. Everything surpassed our expectations. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms and laundry room were great and the view from the upper deck was also great. Our grandchildren loved the garden, the beaches and the water park which is just down the hill from the cottage. Our son and daughter enjoyed touring the wineries with their spouses. We all enjoyed the different birds that we saw, for example Quail and an owl that watched over us as we sat on the deck one night. Deer also visited the patio. The Kettle Valley Steam Train is just 15 minutes away and a wonderful experience. Summerland is a central spot to this area for site seeing and is true to its name. We had a five star summer vacation thanks to the friendly people of Summerland and the house know as Peek-A Boo Cottage.
First of all, I would like to keep this gem of a rental a secret!!!! We had a fantastic summer vacation for two weeks in July 2015. It is a 6 minute walk to and from the beach... not to mention the spectacular view you have while walking to the beach. We spent many a night drinking Okanagan's finest wine on the lovely deck. We indulged in fresh fruit and veggies from the fruit stand that was a 3 minute drive from the house. The grocery store is another minute past the fruit stand. Best of all, it was the perfect space for our three under five kids who can be hooligans at the best of times. They spent a significant amount of time exploring the backyard, hiding under the walnut and plum trees and eating raspberries off the bushes... Personally, I enjoy drinking my coffee while checking out the beautiful rose bushes. What a wonderful spot in Summerland...
This is the second time we've rented this property, it's a nice home and in the right location. but certain things didn't go right this time. When we got there, the half bath toilet was clogged and we couldn't find a plunger any were. AC didn't work got pretty hot in the house, other stuff wasn't able to find. (ex: extra trash bags, blue recycling bags) Things were just hard to find, but we loved the updated bathroom and laundry room. Very nice job updating the home. Thanks
Thank you for providing such quality accommodation! Your rental is perfect for any family. It provides space to relax and also exceptional beds after a long day at play. Congratulations on setting an example of what a vacation home can be. It was a few years ago that we rented but it is still the best so far.
This is by far our favourite property of the last four years we have vacationed in the Okanagan. It rates five stars for location (in between the beach and downtown and neither is more than a few minutes' drive). As I looked at the pictures before we arrived I hoped the house would be as pictured - and it is, only better. Our children loved the large back yard (with hammock!) and I loved the roses and other gardens. The stunning glass-front balcony is truly a pleasure to sip one's coffee on and the house is so beautiful and home-like. Everything is lovely, from the bed linens to the furnishings to the many windows to the amazing newly-renovated downstairs bathroom (with in-floor heating). This is even a place of adventure, as one night the Wi-Fi kicked out and we had to hunt from floor to ceiling to find the router, only discovering it the next morning through an outside access door (otherwise the internet was fabulous). Our small family of four give this cottage/house a thumbs up and promise to be back.
A gorgeous property! My family and I felt very much at home, the moment we stepped foot in the door! Every room us well appointed and very comfortable. The owner was more than accommodating and helpful during our entire stay. We thoroughly enjoyed mornings and evenings on the upper deck. Ease of access to Summerland downtown and nearby activities was a bonus. Be sure to visit the Experimental Farm near Sun Oka beach, hike Giant's Head Mountain, or enjoy some time kayaking at Rotary or Sun Oka beach. You will have a lovely home to return to after a day filled with the sites and attractions of Summerland and area!
