A charming rental in charming Savannah
Such a lovely rental in Savannah’s historic district. Superb location for all of your downtown needs. This wonderful home was exceptionally clean and extremely comfortable. Michelle and Matthew were wonderful hosts and paid every attention to ensure our stay was ideal. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Book this rental, grab your coffee, walk just steps outside and enjoy your morning in a beautiful square in downtown Savannah. We will be back, for sure. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.
This remodeled home was located in a great spot a block from Broughton St. we were able to walk everywhere. The owners were so amazingly nice and accommodating! Highly recommend!
Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic Savannah house!
It is a very nice place to stay in historic Savannah. The location is perfect - very close to everything and at the same time is very quiet. The house is clean and has everything you need. Thank you, Michelle!
3 Weeks in Savannah at Poppy!
Very conveniently located a block away from Broughton Street (main commercial downtown street) but at its quieter east end so the location is excellent plus the house looks directly out onto Greene Square.
Considering the proximity to the commercial hub of downtown Savannah, this location is surprisingly quiet most of the day.
Directly next door is the smallest house in Savannah so it's a regular pass by for the tourist trolleys and horse drawn carriages but that's about it for traffic.
Street parking is metered. We purchased a weekly pass (about $90.00; if you stay for more than 30 days, the pass is $47.00, a surprisingly good deal). Most every day of our 3 week stay, we found a parking space directly in front of the house. We only used the car to travel miles out of town.
Otherwise we walked almost everywhere within about a 3 mile radius. Savannah is one of the most enjoyably walkable cities I've been to. And this house puts you within walking distance of the heartbeat of Savannah - the riverfront, the Lucas Theater, great restaurants (Chive on Broughton is among our favorites), all of the 'squares' (parks) and Forsyth Park, the historic streets with beautiful 18th and 19th century homes and buildings, the oak trees and hanging moss, the cultural vibrancy, diversity, mystery, and calm.
This house served us well. We are a couple with a 13 year-old puddle. The dog was challenged by the stairway, which leads to the two bedrooms, the master having a queen bed and its own spacious bathroom with a large, walk-in subway tiled shower. The other bedroom has twin beds. Rooms are bright, clean, simple.
Downstairs is another spacious bathroom with tub/shower and stackable washer/dryer.
The kitchen has room to comfortbly work and socialize around the table. A double sided ornamental fireplace divides the kitchen from the living area which is simple with a sofa and two chairs, coffee table, and entertainment console/TV.
This house is bright, clean, comfortable, utilitarian in a very convenient location. Opening the front door directly onto Greene Square is a great way to greet the morning. Having your coffee on a bench in the square under a giant, old oak makes it that much better.
Speaking of coffee, our only little problem we had was that the coffee maker didn't work properly. Michelle replaced it within hours.
It's all a matter of personal taste but I would have given this property 5 stars if it had a little more 'art-on-the-walls'.
We loved it! It’s such a perfect stay that this has been our second year in a row. It’s the perfect location and quiet. The owners always make sure we have everything needed for the perfect stay.
A great place to spend the winter!
My husband and I spent two months in this lovely house. Everything was clean when we moved in, and it was easy for us to keep it clean. The location is great. It’s an easy walk to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Green Square is relatively quiet and frequented by more locals than tourists. We would read on a bench, play soccer with the grandkids, or visit with some of the locals. We came to know several fellow dog owners, and made plans to see them again next winter!
