Salmon Ladder: Pitlochry is famous for its hydro-electric dam and salmon ladder. The ladder was specially constructed to enable salmon to by-pass the dam and make their way upstream to Loch Faskally above. Approximately half a million visitors go to the dam and fish ladder every year, making it one of the top attractions in Scotland. The ladder is 310 metres long and consists of 34 chambers. It enables around 5,000 salmon to return to their spawning grounds each year - a journey of some 6,000 miles! Truly a home from home
My family had a great time. Super clean, and kept up to date by Pat before, during and after our stay.
Pat is an excellent host, and was really quick to respond to any questions we had about the property and the area. (Yes there is on street parking - which is a bonus for such a central location). There was also a surprise in the house, a great welcome pack, everything clearly labelled (including all important wifi password), maps, guidebooks, and lots of books (Novels etc...)
Location is fantastic, very central, the house was big enough for us all, and we had a relaxing stay. Would recommend - especially as a base to discover the rest of Perthshire.
How kind of you to take the time to write such a detailed review. I really appreciate it. And thank you so much for all your kind words.
You and your family can come back anytime.
Haste he back!
Very comfortable cottage in lovely location
This is a very comfortable home away from home in a lovely location ideal for walking into Pitlochry or seeing the beautiful surrounding countryside. The cottage is well equipped and was ideal for us and our two young children.
Return visit- not disappointed.
This was our second visit to Park Gardens, having had a short break in Pitlochry, Autumn 2017.
Since our last stay, the owner has upgraded both the Kitchen and Bathroom, improvements which have only added to the level of facilities offered. When we opened the front door, I
immediately felt the feeling of familiarity with the property, I quess you could say " this does feel like a home from home"
Cosy and well equipped
We had a lovely stay in Pitlochry. Communication with Pat before our stay was great, a lovely welcome tray of treats was set out on our arrival and the house had everything we needed in it. We had our 4 year old son with us and there was a playground just at the end of the road for him which was really handy. We had day trips to Cairngorm and Glenshee mountains to play in the snow, and also had some snow in Pitlochry so our son was thrilled! The beds were very comfy and the house was warm with plenty of extra blankets, etc, provided too. Everything was clean and working well. We would definitely recommend the apartment to others. Thanks very much for everything Pat.

Home from home- says what it is on the tin (well door!)
Park Gardens is a well maintained and appointed holiday let. The owner has obviously put a lot of thought into what guests require, when they stay. It is situated in a quiet area of the town, but very accessible to all the amenities of the town centre. Entries in the visitors book over a number of years, give very positive feedback and we would like to add ours. Recommended!!!
