Salmon Ladder: Pitlochry is famous for its hydro-electric dam and salmon ladder. The ladder was specially constructed to enable salmon to by-pass the dam and make their way upstream to Loch Faskally above. Approximately half a million visitors go to the dam and fish ladder every year, making it one of the top attractions in Scotland. The ladder is 310 metres long and consists of 34 chambers. It enables around 5,000 salmon to return to their spawning grounds each year - a journey of some 6,000 miles! Thank you Pat for a lovely couple of days in your house. Your 'croeso' was hospitality at its best. Your treasure trove of books is something very special.

Home from home- says what it is on the tin (well door!)

  • 5 of 5

Park Gardens is a well maintained and appointed holiday let. The owner has obviously put a lot of thought into what guests require, when they stay. It is situated in a quiet area of the town, but very accessible to all the amenities of the town centre. Entries in the visitors book over a number of years, give very positive feedback and we would like to add ours. Recommended!!!

Mid-week holiday, to visit theatre, shops and countryside

  • 4 of 5

The cottage makes an excellent base for the theatre, shops and countryside. Comfortable, homely and with individualistic touches - who wouldn't like antlers and hens?

Cute cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in Pitlochry, afew 100 miles from the main street.

The cottage was clean and cosy and every thing we needed was there.

There was a big bed in the master bedroom and two smal beds in the second room.

Nice accommodation, convenient for town, shops, etc

  • 4 of 5

Nice rooms in the house. Very traditional style. Lots of cooking equipment but with selection of restaurants so close it was easy not to do much cooking. TV was a bit small for size of lounge! And shower needed gentle handling but apart from that, it was good.

Owner's Response: Sam I’m sorry you found difficulty with the stairs. I agree they are steep for two year old twins. I am always extra careful myself when my two year old granddaughter stays. She is a real speedy Gonzalez! Regarding your comment about the garden, I am genuinely surprised given my correspondence with your father in October, when I had suggested myself that the property might not be suitable for you. I have copied and pasted below my email of the 24th October 2016, I hope this helps: “Eddie, if you read the house information you will see that the garden is just a few metres along the road from the front entrance. It’s a lovely garden but perhaps not suitable (for two year old twins) as the parents could not watch out for them say from the lounge window. I've enjoyed the garden with my own grandchildren (5&2), collecting apples and plums and making jam.... and dens, etc. but I have always been with them. I hope this helps clarify your thinking “. After that your father made the booking. It’s always difficult when it’s a surprise gift, Sam - perhaps this information wasn’t shared with you. I hope you’ve had a safe journey home. Thank you for your lovely text this morning. Perhaps you will consider visiting us again when the twins are older. Best wishes Pat
