We love to interact with our guests as schedules allow. We are ALWAYS reachable by our cell phones for assistance.
We're glad to offer suggestions, based on guests' questions, and guests are welcome to accompany us when we go out socially.
We are located in Overton Square, central to other Midtown neighborhoods, the Medical District, Overton Park, and downtown. The Freeway I-240 has several exits nearby. There are grocery stores, a variety of cuisines and bars within walking distance.
Whatever medium you are traveling by, we are located in Overton Square near the Cooper Young District (nightlife and local bands), Downtown (Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street, Bass Pro Shops, to name a few attractions), and Overton Park (Brooks Art Museum, Levitt Shell, and the Memphis Zoo).
For arts in my neighborbood, it offers the Playhouse on the Square and Hatiloo Theater. The Orpheum and Evergreen theaters are located nearby our house. Binghampton is located east of Overton Park and sports both nightlife and a variety of galleries.
For music, local bands play throughout Midtown and Downtown restaurants, and Levitt Shell at Overton Park often offers free concerts during the summer and fall. The Hi Tone Lounge is within walking distance; Minglewood Hall. Further east, near the University of Memphis, local bands play along Highland Strip.
For music history, Sun Studios, Stax Museum, the Rock n Roll Museum, Gibson Guitar Factory, Graceland, and Beale Street are central to our location.
For social activities, the Vollintine Evergreen trail is nearby, and Overton Park has walking trails. The Zoo is within Overton Park. The National Civil Rights Museum is downtown, at the Lorraine Motel, and the Big River Crossing (multi-use trail) recently opened, allowing walkers and cyclists to connect to West Memphis, Arkansas. There’s a light show at the Harahan Bridge each Friday night. The Pink Palace Museum is located east, and Tiger Lane (Liberty Bowl) is nearby. Further east, Shelby Farms offers trails and other fitness activities. We bike often and can provide walking and cycling suggestions; the Greenline and Greenway provide connections throughout east Memphis and beyond to Cordova, Germantown, and Collierville via walking and/or cycling. We also enjoy dancing and can recommend places for salsa, line, ballroom, swing, and Contra dancing.
We’re always glad to offer suggestions for other activities, as we’ve had guests who want to tour rural locations and some of the small towns surrounding Memphis. Our location is ideal for those who want to spend a night before continuing travel as well as those who wish to spend a few days exploring Memphis.
Uber friendly Lyft friendly Bus Stop is a the beginning of our street.
