A perfect week!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Sommerset! Our family of four (kids 11&8) and dog had more than ample space inside the house. The home was very comfortable and charming.

We loved the fire pit area and the beach where the water was very clear.

We did day trips to Mackinaw Island and a boat rental at Indian River (accessing Burt and Mullet Lakes) and did shopping/dinner excursions to Harbor Springs and Petoskey and of course a meal at Leggs Inn! All locations were within a reasonable drive.

We definitely want to plan another stay there!

Fun Fall Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time walking the beach right outside our door and into Wilderness State Park. What fun to be able to run outside to dig in the sand according to the whims of a three year-old and then run back in when she needs a snack or to go potty...takes away all the hassles of car seats, and packing everything under the sun into the car for a quick visit to the beach. Beach walking with the dog was fun for grown ups, too. Fire on the beach at night, a cozy rainy day inside with a fire in the wood stove , and an evening out in Harbor Spring... and after going to sleep to the sound of waves breaking on the shore, it's hard to come home to the city. We found the cabin to be nice and clean and the beds comfortable. The location can simply not be better.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to this part of Michigan. The somerset is a very nice log home on a "deserted" beach. There are homes right next to Somerset, but we only saw one person the entire time. The night sky was incredible. The water was clear, blue and calm during our stay. Somerset had plenty of room and was very comfortable. We hope to return again next year!

A Wilderness Wonderland with Sturgeon Bay Style

  • 5 of 5

Sommerset Cottage proved to be the perfect location for our family getaway. The cottage was clean comfortable and welcoming in every way. Plenty of room for eight adults. Campfires on the beach, beautiful sunsets and a short walk to thousands of acres of state land with miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A thirty minute drive will get you to Mackinaw, Harbor Springs or the Bridge.
