Why Bill Morgan chose Haena

I have been returning to Kauai since first living here in 1975. Hale Pulelehu'a is located on the best beach on the entire island of Kauai. We designed Hale Pulelehu'a to appeal to our multi-generational family. The house is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the North Shore and is close to so many great activities. There are so many spectacular things to do within walking distance of the house that you may not even want to get in your car!

Perfect Family Sanctuary

  • 5 of 5

My family (6 adults, 1 6-year old, and 1 16-month old) stayed for over a week and had a delightful experience. The house is gorgeous and much more spacious than the pictures represent. The kids loved the backyard and spent hours running around. The beach is just steps from the front door. We cooked a large Thanksgiving dinner and had everything we needed, from photo-worthy serving platters to a turkey baster! We hope to make Hale Pulelehu'a a family tradition and are excited about visiting some time in the summer to see what the coast is like then. One note for families with very small children: The stairs to the second floor are steep so you might want to bring an temporary expandable gate if Bill, the owner, agrees

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review Lee. We have had a gate for guests to use at the top of the stairs. It was removed while we painted this fall and we forgot to reinstall it. I will make sure it goes back up for our little guests! Bill

Great House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect, love the quiet neighborhood. The beach can be accessed by a path directly across the street from the house. We opted to also rent the guest house, and that was excellent. Good way to get a little additional privacy from the main house. 10/10 experience! Bill was very easy to work with.

Family trip to north shore

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved our stay at Hale Pulelehu'a. The location is perfect, very quiet and we had the beach almost all to ourself. Bill was great! They have plenty of towels, beach chairs, extra fins and snorkel gear, boogie boards and even sand toys for the kids. The home is spacious, and my husband and I had the tree house, it was wonderful! Only hope we can return again some day

Stunning; yard, beach, home -very clean as well

  • 5 of 5

This home is a gem. Beautiful inside and out, with tropical trees shading a carefully manicured lawn and graceful architecture and painting inside. Grilling steak as a family and picnicking in this Eden- yep all that. Very close to the beach, just a wonderful 50-yard tree tunneled path. The only thing I would change, would be to add a small A/C unit "Fujitsu" just to take the edge off of the 3-5pm August heat. If your not staying in August, you probably would not use it. Just would have been a nice touch for the afternoon naps. I would definitely stay here again with or without the A/C. Just inspiring!

Lovely House

  • 5 of 5

Kudos to Bill Morgan on this beautiful house on the north shore. Beautifully furnished and immaculate. We were there in July so it was warm, but there are lots of fans and windows. I love this spot with the gentle rain at night and morning rainbows. I have a ridiculous number of rainbow photos.

Our party included a couple of seniors who had a hard time with the sand on Banana Beach so we walked up the street to Hanalei Colony Resort in the mornings to get some great sunrise photos from the point. The younger beach walkers can just walk out to the point from the beach path in front of the house. We saw monk seals there which I'd never seen before!

We loved being so close to Ke'e and caught some lovely sunsets from there. A lot of people leave Ke'e just before sunset, so the parking is easy then and there were few people there.

The house itself was perfect for our party of 7. We didn't use the tree house, just the main house. There are 4 bedrooms in the main house with 2.5 baths, a large kitchen overlooking the exquisite garden. There's lots of parking, all kinds of beach gear, a washer and dryer, and an amazing outdoor shower. That shower is fantastic. The incredible shower in the master bath is also pretty amazing, but the outdoor one is my favorite.

Bill was so friendly and quickly responded to all of my questions. Thanks, Bill, for the lovely chat just before our stay, and thank you for providing this delightful house for us to enjoy.
