Excerpts from a sweet note left by our guests:
Thank you Victoria. We had a wonderful time. Everything was just lovely!
We really enjoyed our stay at the west beach retreat. It was the perfect space for our family of four (mom, dad, 5.5 yr old and 2 yr old). The owners have done just a wonderful job of stocking up everything and we truly had more than we needed. There were beach towels, a pac n play, books (kids and adults), a fully stocked kitchen (everything you need if you want to cook) and even muffins, coffee and oranges waiting for us (even organic creamer!) as we arrived very late at night. We loved eating outdoors and relaxing on the back patio. It's very private with all the lush plant growth, even though it's somewhat close to other apartments. The space had a feeling of being well maintained and well loved. Victoria responds quickly over email and was very responsive and easy to communicate with. This property is very near the beach, Sambo's (for breakfast), the bike path, wharf, train tracks and State street (though it's a few blocks to walk up to the happening part of the street). I loved Rebar coffee nearby as well. Our favorite spots to eat were Rudy's Taqueria and The Neighborhood, which has huge wooden booths great for containing young kids, and both places are only 2 blocks away. We rode our bikes to the zoo (definitely worth going if you have kids). This was probably one of our top VRBO experiences of all time. A great location, super nice people to work with, I would go back in an instant. Thanks again west beach retreat!
This was an amazing place for our family of two adults and two teenage boys. It is very close to beach so we were able to walk to beach in just 2 mins. It was also close to highway 101 which was handy for our daily excursions. It was quiet and cozy. There was a parking spot always available out front. It is a lovely street that was both quiet and felt safe. We ate on the patio outside and it was private and filled with gorgeous blooming trees, rose bushes and flowers. I sat on the private back porch and read one afternoon, a very nice get a away. Victoria was very responsive to our questions. There was coffee and cream for us ( we arrived late at night past grocery store hours so that was much appreciated the next morning) and a huge bowl of delicious oranges. Kitchen was very well appointed. Nice pots and pans, Tupperware, lots of plates and glassware. The bathrooms had a vintage feel but they were very clean and charming. I would recommend staying here!
Neat property with a great location. Near the wharf, harbor, State Street and the Funk zone. Street parking was not an issue. Stayed a week and had a great biking and hiking vacation in Santa Barbara.
We spent a wonderful week at the West Beach Retreat. The condo was so cute, and comfortable that we will definitely be going back next year. There is a wonderful private patio with a nice table and chairs right off the kitchen that we particularly enjoyed. Victoria had a great assortment of coffee, tea, cream and sugar and some delicious oranges waiting for us when we arrived. The condo was well equipped with everything you might need if you're hoping to prepare your meals at home. I can't think of anything I would change in the condo!
We just returned from a week's stay at the West Beach Retreat in Santa Barbara. The location on a quiet, pleasant street just a few minutes' walk from the beach, the marina, the wharf and the trolley service is ideal. Because of this you do not need a car but we had one and and finding on-street parking right in front of the unit was never a problem. The house is roomy, clean and comfortable with two outdoor patio areas and the kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped.
We are a couple but West Beach Retreat would comfortably accommodate two couples or a small family. The owners are responsive and helpful and we appreciated the special touches they left to welcome us. We would certainly hope to rent this property again when we next visit gorgeous Santa Barbara.
The location of this apartment can't be beat, Just 2 blocks from the beach and about that far to State Street. The kitchen is fully equipped and the apartment was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The 2 courtyards are lovely and add space and beauty to the property. The owners are extremely friendly and great to work with. The bathrooms and appliances are a little outdated, but that was a very small thing compared to the rest of the experience. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Santa Barbara.
90 miles North of Los Angeles.
We are located on Historic Natoma Avenue at Burton Circle, the site of the Original Potter Hotel, 1.5 blocks from West Beach. This is a very sought after neighborhood with beautiful views of the mountains. We are within walking distance (two blocks) from Stearns Wharf, The Funk Zone, the Harbor, the Amtrak Train Station, Tennis Courts, Baseball Field, and the State Street and waterfront shuttles. Many restaurants and shopping surround you.
