Total relaxation in quiet ocean front setting. Lots of parking. 1600 sq ft home
Our efficiency home was built in 1869 by Mr. Patrick Walsh, orginally from Port Kerwin. Patrick passed away in 1932 and James, his son, became owner. It continued to be passed down in the Walsh family, and was purchased by Patricks Great, Great, Great grandsons and restoration began in the spring of 2010.
We restored the house as close as possible to its original layout, but also added modern comforts and some openess, to take advantage of the wonderful view of Fermeuse harbour.
Three bedrooms can sleep six, and a Futon downstairs can sleep two.
Located on the Fermeuse Harbour, sit on the deck and enjoy the ocean. Not far from entrance to East Coast Trail. Only need to bring food, as it is ready to live in.

Loved our stay, Lucy is a fabulous hostess and a pleasure to talk to. We will be back 🙂
The house was nicely renovated with a huge back yard, great for families. Unlike other places we stayed, the kitchen did not have many condiments except for the very basic ie, sugar, salt pepper, so ensure to bring what you require and no fire wood provided. One of the beds was very uncomfortable and it was hot upstairs even with the AC running.
We only stayed for two night in early September so maybe things were coming to a halt which would account for the lack of supplies.
Lucy was a wonderful sweet lady.
Clean, comfortable home.
We were impressed with the house which comfortably held our family of five. The area is pretty and about 1.5 hours to St. John's. We hiked the East Coast trail nearby and saw whales jumping in the distance. The property is taken care of well (although the wifi doesn't operate consistently). The communication with Lucy was easy and she is available to help when needed. Overall, a very good experience.
The house was perfect! Lots of space for the 6 of us, modern finishes, bbq and fire pit! Lucy was very accommodating :) Would definitely stay here again!
Great place, but lacks a bit of character
The place was perfectly fine. Very clean, comfortable beds and linens, well stocked. Very new. The only reason I did not make it a five star was because it lacked some character. Although it is an old building, it has been 100% renovated in and out, including changes to the floor plan. To many this would be a good thing, but we wanted a bit of character. The location is not perfect either ... it's on the water but across the river from a commercial dock and adjacent to a big facility of some sort.
The owners were very friendly and the house was very clean and well kept
Ideal location to go to St John's for the day or go to tourist destinations to the south. Just don't drive too early or late as there were moose on the road
