Ellen Gaddy purchased this house in 2000
Beaches, rivers and sand dunes...are you kidding?
We were here for almost 3 weeks. It's a great house with nice deck, comfortable downstairs for the kids and upstairs for the adults. Kitchen was well equipped and stove with griddle was handy. Easy walk on nice trails to the beach. Pacific City is very friendly and nearly all necessities could be bought in town. Should have an outdoor shower, a beach necessity if you want to keep sand out of the house. For those who care it's sad that recycling is so difficult and requires extra effort. The recycling center is only available on Friday and Saturday. One trash pickup/week also requires extra effort to keep trash to a minimum. Excellent value altogether.
We stayed, two families of four for Father's Day weekend. The house was perfect with two bedrooms and a living room down stairs. And the main living quarters up stairs with a deck off the kitchen to bbq. Would recommend this house for a family or friends headed to pacific city. The walk to the beach and small town area were less than 1/2 a mile.
What a fabulous weekend!! Perfect home for nine of us enjoying a girls weekend! The layout was perfect with two living areas, plenty of beds and extremely well stocked. Staying up late playing games and rising early to enjoy our coffee on the fabulous deck was amazing! The home was spotless, comfy and welcoming. Bonus....the neighbors were super friendly!!! I would highly recommend staying here for your next getaway!!! We'll be back!!
We came here for a family reunion / baby shower. Upon our arrival the house was very clean. Since we had a larger group we really enjoyed the upstairs. The large living room connects to a dining area and kitchen. With the three bedrooms being split between upstairs and downstairs we had no problem getting the babies to bed downstairs while people continued to hang out in the living room upstairs. It was also nice to have a downstairs and an upstairs living room, just so some of the students who came could study in a quiet area while others were able to interact. Manager was easy to get a hold of and was great to work with.
This was a great house. It was big enough for 6 adults and two infants. However the two rooms downstairs are fairly small and right next to each other. So if you have infants that fuss and others trying to sleep, it might not be the best. The Master Suite upstairs and nice and big though. The 4 stars is because there is no secure storage for surfboards or bikes. The garage is locked to guests. This is the only downfall otherwise we enjoyed staying here.
This home has a reverse design with family room and two bedrooms on the entry level. Upstairs you will find a comfortable open living and dining area with roomy kitchen area. The master bedroom and bathroom are easily accessible as is the half bath and wooden deck. We used the new BBQ grill and lounged on the deck. A minor complaint is that the trash can was half full when we arrived and we did not know when the next garbage collection was. We also ran out of TP on the third day.
The walk to the beach through the gated neighborhood was not accessible for all of our family so we drove a short distance to the public parking at either Bob Straub park or next to the Pelican Pub. Accessibility was best at the State park. The beach is gorgeous here with the rock and the sand dune at one end. Beautiful sunsets are common. We shopped at Fred Meyers in Tillamook on our drive down, then used the Chester's Market for further needs. Dinner was very good at the Oar House.
Doryland pizza is excellent. Our focus was on the beach so we found our three day stay to be very enjoyable. We had rooms for seven with the eight family member sleeping on the downstairs sofa sleeper. Our two dogs enjoyed the visit too. The grandchildren found games and movies in the cabinets in the den. There is a huge selection of books upstairs. And the maritime decor was very fitting this coastal home. We saw two young deer almost daily.
