We rebuilt an old barnwood-sided cabin from the 1930's to be a unique guesthouse
About Janie Casad
We have been married since 1982 and have lived here the whole time. Dan is an automotive specialist building special-interest vehicles. Janie is a retired Christian school teacher. We are so thankful to the Lord Jesus for the unique ongoing blessing to live on this property that is so much a part of my heritage.
Janie Casad purchased this Cabin in 1977
Why Janie Casad chose Medford
My grandfather purchased the greater property back in the 1920's. My parents bought part of it in the early sixties. When I got married and needed my own place, my parents subdivided again and gave me 3 1/2 acres. On the greater property was this cabin that my great-grandfather had lived in during the depression. My dream was to move it to our side of the creek and rebuild it to be a guest cabin. We completed the project in 2008 and would love to share it with you.
What makes this Cabin unique
As you drive across our bridge, you will be greeted by huge oaks that provide shade for the park area. We are bordered on one side by the creek and a well-kept vineyard on the other. The rose garden and other flower beds will delight you. We have strived to create a peaceful, park-like setting apart from the hustle and bustle of life where you can find a quiet place to reflect and smell the roses.

To say the beauty was unexpected is an understatement. Sure I read review after review of how amazing this place was and everyone giving no less than 5 stars but still you never know until you see it for yourself. This place is so quiet and serene and to hear the sounds of nature and the creek and night was so peaceful and amazing. I would definitely recommend to any of my friends and family and Dan and Janie were great hosts as well as their beautiful friendly dog. Thanks again and until next time.
So very lovely
The cabin was super great, it was small and cozy with great outdoor space. My dog loved the yard and loved playing with Monte, we can’t wait to come back and visit again!!
Cozy country cutie
This was absolutely wonderful! Beautiful property and pet friendly. Our fur baby had a great time too! We saw several deer all 3 days we were there and the sound of the creek and the crickets lulled us to sleep at night. Can't wait to go again.
Beautiful and serene!
This property was perfect for us and our husky pup! Monte (the resident golden retriever) was such a great playmate for Lacey our 7 month old puppy! The cabin is located on a beautiful piece of family owned property with lots of history. We enjoyed listening to the creek, which is right outside the cabin. Comfy bed too! We hope to be back!
this vacation property was one of the most relaxing places that we have stayed in a long long time. we were welcomed to their property the minute we arrived. we awoke to the sound of wild geese in the morning. we felt welcomed and felt like we were at home there. the cabin is everything the ad says it is. we will definitely be back and highly recommend you stay here.
Janie's cabin was greater than we expected! It's situated less than a mile away from several wineries and farms. If you're looking for a relaxing and quiet getaway this is just the place. We loved walking around her property and seeing the gardens and reading about the history of the property. We will definitely be back!! Thanks for everything!
It was a joy to have you! I loved our visit together!
