The Eagle Rock Lodge is constructed of yellow pine logs. It was built and hand hewed by the previous owner. Incredible natural beauty and wildlife year round!
This is the 4th year in a row that my family has stayed at this property in October. The property is amazing in so many ways. It is very secluded and away from the roads. This time of year the trees are in full fall mode with all kinds of great colors. We enjoy the house, which is very spacious, but enjoy the outdoors even more. Fishing, hiking, swinging on grape vines, scavenger hunts, and campfires are staples for our trips. Our family get together ranges ages 3-63 and everyone has a great time. This past year 16 of us stayed here (8 adults and 8 kids) and there was plenty of space for everyone. We thoroughly enjoy our time here each year and plan on coming back next year too!
My wife and I stayed at this beautiful cabin with a bunch of friends in February and loved every second of it! The "uniquely engineered" home is spacious enough to spread out if you need to, but cozy and comfortable in the great room - perfect for playing games and hanging out. The lack of phone service was nice - it kept everyone engaged and out of their phones, and the occasionally required runs to get service were not a hassle.
Susan was a pleasure to work with and was very helpful. She gave us a tour of the home when we first arrived and showed us the ins and outs of the place in case we had any questions. She leaves the kitchen well-stocked (not very common with rental homes), which was GREAT for those baking/cooking items that were left at home.
The property is beautiful - trees, ravines, rocks, lakes, hiking trails - and was great to explore. We turned an ATV trial into a long sledding hill (Susan supplied us with some sleds), which provided hours of entertainment.
I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone - will definitely try to get back here again next year!!
Thank you, Susan!
coming from a fairly bustling area, a bunch of friends and I (in our 30s) like to get away for the weekend but not be on a side of a mountain where civilization is completely gone. This rental strikes a great place in between. The drive itself is fantastic coming from around Cleveland as you pass thru Canton and after that it is a leisurely drive thru the country and once off the highway, it's a great drive thru a small town, and then farmlands. Coming into the property it seems impossibly large - and it is. The driveway meanders back and forth across a creek, up and past a huge pond/lake and finally up to the house itself. The home is comfortable enough for a couple of families to stay, or in our case, 8 men. The grounds themselves are very well kept as the owner and their family also use this property, so it is essentially like staying at a friends home. Everything you need as far as amenities are there. Given the location is as remote as you might imagine, it is so wonderfully quiet. Do not expect to get a good cellphone signal near the house - but walking around you can find a decent 3G connection for ATT or Verizon, or if you want to go all the way down to the end of the driveway near the road, I found that I got 4G down there. Again, the point of this exceptional property is to get away from it all and relax, and I can't think of many other places that I have seen that would do that at this price, for this much space - again, I cant comment enough on how there are hundreds of acres to explore.. We will definitely be returning.
Our family spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Eagle Rock Lodge and it couldn't have been better! From arrival, Susan greeted us and showed us around the cabin and provided info about the property and things to do during our stay. The cabin was decorated with Christmas Tree and decorations making it feel warm and welcoming. Everything we needed and more was provided. The cabin was clean and craftsmanship was beautiful! The property was amazing...we hiked, fished, and sat on the deck soaking up nature's beauty, and there was plenty of it there!!
We had 11 family members and there was more than enough room to accommodate all of us. We watched football, played games, laughed, enjoyed the outdoors, and prepared a large Thanksgiving dinner! We went into Cambridge one night for their holiday light display and parade which was very enjoyable. My family raved about the cabin and property and we all agreed it was best Thanksgiving getaway so far...this has become an annual family tradition, and we hope to return to a Eagle Rock to make more memories in the future!
We have been coming here for a few years now and are always so happy with this place!! It is truly a paradise!! The land is amazing and the lodge itself is so amazing. We have a bunch of friends from college that make this annual trip to escape city life and just have a fun weekend of golf, food and laughter. So lucky we found this. Always the best weekend of the year. Susan is so easy to deal with and always makes sure everything is perfect for our weekend!! This place is a must stay!!!
We rented this home for a long weekend with our grown children...it was absolutely amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. It is even more beautiful than the photos. Susan was very helpful giving us the tour of the home when we got there. Very clean. We all loved being "unplugged" for the weekend (although you can find phone service close by if needed). We hiked, laughed, ate great food, had bon fires, played board games - just an incredible getaway for all of us. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway! The property is absolutely beautiful.
The Eagle Rock Lodge is secluded in the beautiful hills of southeastern Ohio near Salt Fork State Park and the cities of Cambridge and Coshocton. Salt Fork is Ohio's largest state park and lake. The park offers beach swimming, marina, horseback riding trails, lodge with restaurant and recreation room, hiking trails, boat/pontoon rental, hunting areas, and much more. Deerassic Park and the Ohio Whitetail Hall of Fame are located nearby as is the Cambridge Class Museum. Cambridge also features the very popular Dicken's Victorian Village during the winter holiday season. Coshocton features the historical canal town of Roscoe Village for a sampling of 1800's lifestyle. Ohio's Amish country and The Wilds wildlife conservatory are great day trip destinations for guests of all ages. These are just a few of the local activities, but we think you will enjoy most just relaxing at the Eagle Rock Lodge and surrounding natural beauty on 250 acres of private land. Nature's wildlife and landscape provide spectacular views all four seasons of the year!
