About the property

Kiss of Country

Our home welcomes those travelers in search of something simple. This home has been our family’s refuge since 1968. Nestled in the small town of Glen Ellen, our home is near the ranch where well-renowned author Jack London chose to settle. Jack London State Park offers many activities, such as hiking or horseback riding among giant redwoods, picnicking in a

meadow or by the lake (we recommend picking up picnic supplies at the upscale Glen Ellen Village Market, which is a couple blocks from our home) or exploring the ruins and museums that were once Jack London’s houses. There are also opportunities for hiking or biking at the Sonoma Valley Regional Park, which is a short walk from our home.

If you’re not the outdoorsy type, there are a multitude of world-class wineries and spas a short drive away. Glen Ellen is the perfect staging place for enjoying all that the Sonoma and Napa valleys have to offer. Within a 45-minute drive, you could get a massage in Calistoga, go wine tasting in the Dry Creek Valley appellation near Healdsburg, or have dinner at a celebrity chef’s restaurant in Yountville. Within a 15-minute drive, you could explore downtown Sonoma’s historic plaza, spend the day at Morton’s Warm Springs Resort and go wine tasting in Kenwood on your way back to the house, or tour the biodynamic Benziger Winery. The heart of Glen Ellen is merely a block away, and there you will find fine dining at restaurants such as The Glen Ellen Inn, Glen Ellen Star and The Fig Café. Or simply stay in and relax by the pool and hot tub, fire up the gas grill and enjoy a back yard BBQ. These are just a few ideas out of the myriad of possibilities afforded by our central location in the wine country.

Our 1700-square-foot, ranch-style home offers two bedrooms and one bathroom, large picture windows, a gas fire place insert, and a game room with a pool table. A 2000-square-foot outdoor entertainment area with a pool, hot tub, redwood decks, flagstone patio, lawn area, and view of the surrounding mountains. We hope you will enjoy creating lasting memories with friends and family as we have for over 40 years!

My Family Trip

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure of staying in Glen Ellen on my recent family trip. The home and the amenities were outstanding. Lori was quick to get back to me with answers to my questions and everything went well. The home is within walking distance to the Glen Ellen Inn and the Fig as well as the Market. It was also easy to get to the wineries in Sonoma and Napa that we wanted to visit.

Mine and my Families thanks to Lori! We look forward to staying with you again. JS

Cute, tidy poolside retreat in adorable Glen Ellen

  • 4 of 5

Lori's home was just what we were looking for - a comfortable place to rest on a wine tasting trip through Sonoma. Everything was neat and clean and just as described. The outdoor space and pool were such a treat! The house is in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance from quaint downtown Glen Ellen.

We visited during an unusual heat wave (high 90s) and even after following Lori's instructions to close windows and curtains in the morning, during the day the temperature inside the house was unbearable. The one plug-in AC unit just didn't cut it. Once the sun went down we were able to get some fresh air circulation from open windows and slept comfortably, however. I assume with normal (lower) temperatures this won't be an issue, and luckily we were either out wine tasting or by the pool during the hottest part of the day.

Overall my group had a wonderful stay. Lori was informative, available, and accommodating - I highly recommend this property and would book it again. Thank you!

Ideal location with a Beautiful Outdoor Space

  • 4 of 5

This house is located just a few minutes off the main road which many of the vineyards are on which runs from sonoma up through Santa Rosa so it was an extremely convenient location for our wine tasting weekend. The house and yard were both clean and well cared for. The beds were comfortable. The yard was great! The pool is just perfect for a cool down dip after a day in the sun at all the nearby vineyards. No A/C but it cooled down enough at night to be comfortable in the house. I would stay here again for sure!

Great property, great amenities and great location.

  • 5 of 5

The property is located on a quiet street within walking distance of several restaurants. For a wine country vacation it is perfectly located. You can get to all parts of Sonoma within 30 minutes or to Napa in about the same. The house was clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you would need for preparing just about anything. The outdoor space was the kicker that put the property over the top. A beautifully landscaped, fenced in backyard with a pool and a hot tub was a perfect place to relax after a long day of wine tasting. The pool table was a bonus that we used quite a bit to end the evening after dinner. I would highly recommend and hope it is available the next time I'm in the area.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my best friend for a ladies weekend in the wine country. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to cook two lovely dinners there. Sitting out by the pool in the evening was so relaxing. My friend used the hot tub and enjoyed it very much. The little town of Glenn Ellen is very nice to walk around and they have a small grocery that is stocked with everything you could ever imagine needing/wanting to make a lovely meal. I would also highly recommend Magical Massage, just up the road for 1.5 hours of bliss. They can do 2 massages in the same room and both therapists are marvelous. Right across the road from them is a divine chocolate shop and, of course, there are wineries all around.

What more could you ask for? Thanks Lori!
