Kiss of Country
Our home welcomes those travelers in search of something simple. This home has been our family’s refuge since 1968. Nestled in the small town of Glen Ellen, our home is near the ranch where well-renowned author Jack London chose to settle. Jack London State Park offers many activities, such as hiking or horseback riding among giant redwoods, picnicking in a
meadow or by the lake (we recommend picking up picnic supplies at the upscale Glen Ellen Village Market, which is a couple blocks from our home) or exploring the ruins and museums that were once Jack London’s houses. There are also opportunities for hiking or biking at the Sonoma Valley Regional Park, which is a short walk from our home.
If you’re not the outdoorsy type, there are a multitude of world-class wineries and spas a short drive away. Glen Ellen is the perfect staging place for enjoying all that the Sonoma and Napa valleys have to offer. Within a 45-minute drive, you could get a massage in Calistoga, go wine tasting in the Dry Creek Valley appellation near Healdsburg, or have dinner at a celebrity chef’s restaurant in Yountville. Within a 15-minute drive, you could explore downtown Sonoma’s historic plaza, spend the day at Morton’s Warm Springs Resort and go wine tasting in Kenwood on your way back to the house, or tour the biodynamic Benziger Winery. The heart of Glen Ellen is merely a block away, and there you will find fine dining at restaurants such as The Glen Ellen Inn, Glen Ellen Star and The Fig Café. Or simply stay in and relax by the pool and hot tub, fire up the gas grill and enjoy a back yard BBQ. These are just a few ideas out of the myriad of possibilities afforded by our central location in the wine country.
Our 1700-square-foot, ranch-style home offers two bedrooms and one bathroom, large picture windows, a gas fire place insert, and a game room with a pool table. A 2000-square-foot outdoor entertainment area with a pool, hot tub, redwood decks, flagstone patio, lawn area, and view of the surrounding mountains. We hope you will enjoy creating lasting memories with friends and family as we have for over 40 years!

3 of my childhood friends and myself stayed at this adorable home just last week for 5 days for a girls trip to wine country! The house was a perfect size for the four of us, and very comfortable. It had everything we could've needed. The hot tub was such an added bonus and what drew us to the house to begin with. It was great to relax in it during the day after Winery tours and then at night after dinner. The location really is perfect! It's very easy to find and within walking distance to the multiple restaurants in Glen Ellen, and a short driving distance to so many wineries in Glen Ellen, but also all through Sonoma County. It was a very short drive to downtown Sonoma with more restaurants, shops and wine tasting rooms. The home owner was very easy to communicate with and said she was available if anything was needed, but we didn't need her for anything, she already informed us of all we needed to know and provided us with things to do in the area as well. The only thing we didn't get to partake in was the pool since it is not heated, but sure in nicer weather it is perfect, the nice fenced in yard makes you feel like you have a lot of privacy. I would highly recommend this home for a group of friends or couples looking to stay in wine country! The location, the house, and the amenities it came with truly made it a perfect home away from home! I would definitely stay here again for another wine country get-away!
We had a wonderful time during our stay at this Glen Ellen property. All correspondence was easy and easy to follow. The location worked out very well for our Sonoma and Napa fun.
The house was well laid out on one level, on a nice sized property and had a lovely view. It was clean, with plenty of towels and luxurious sheets. We had an amazing time cooking, playing pool and using the hot tub.
I use it again...clean , quite and close to where I needed to be
We had a lovely wine weekend staying at Lori's house. It worked well for two couples and a 17 month old in our room in a pack and play. The 1 bathroom worked but a second would have been helpful. We did not read in any reviews about the door at the end of the hall that is locked which caught us off guard so I wanted to share for future guests. Everything worked well and was clean. Thank you!
Gorgeous home! Exceeded my expectations. Has everything you need. Felt like home! Could go on and on. I highly recommend for anybody looking for a rental close to Santa rosa
