'The Loft Down Under' located in the basement facing Pagosa's main street. It’s just a short walk across the street to the World Famous Hot Springs Pool and Hot Tubs. It is a open loft with a king size log bed and queen size hide-a-bed couch that will accommodate 4 comfortably. Enjoy the 50 inch HD DirecTv, comfortable furnishings, and cooking in the retro kitchen with all new LG appliances. Stay downtown within walking distance to everything on main street.
Moving from Texas in the fall of 1985 with our two young sons was out of our comfort zone – leaving most of our family and two grown daughters back in Texas. However, we fell in love with Pagosa Springs and the beauty of the mountains, and have always been happy with our decision. We bought the Metropolitan Hotel in 1988 after it was renovated. It was office space except for one four bedroom loft. After our boys grew up we moved to Denver and just recently we remodeled the loft and now use it as a vacation spot for family and friends and anyone else wishing to visit and enjoy a few days in the mountains.
Jacque Aragon purchased this apartment in 1988
The loft is located downtown across the street from the world famous Hot Springs and our family as well as visitors enjoy the hot healing waters after a day at the slopes. Speaking of the slopes it is only a short 20 minute ride to Wolf Creek Ski Area. It's a saying around town that this area is the 'Best Kept Secret' in Colorado. Wolf Creek has the most powder in Colorado! It's a snowboarders paradise! Please leave your comments in our journal in our loft and please enjoy!

Pagosa Lumber Company founder A.T. Sullenberger purchased the two-story brick building at this location in 1918 which was previously occupied by Archuleta Merchantile and built by J.M. Archuleta Jr. in the early 1900's. After a fire destroyed the structure in 1919, Sullenberger constructed the Metropolitan Hotel which featured modern rooms, hot baths for guests and a motion picture theatre.
Now, almost one hundred years later, the Loft at the Metropolitan Hotel sits at the top of it all, welcoming guests to its history. Both apartment rentals are just a short walk across the street to the World Famous Hot Springs Pool and Hot Tubs. Everyone will love the short drive to Wolf Creek for a day on the slopes or just stroll around the shops and restaurants close by! Don't forget the Overlook Hot Springs Spa next door or enjoy a movie at the Liberty Theatre! Anyway you look at it, you will enjoy our lofts and Pagosa Springs!
This place was great! We had an amazing time staying here and will be back in the future. We really enjoyed the Loft Down Under!
We really enjoyed the stay, it's walking distance to all of the in-town activities. The kitchen was equipped like non we've ever seen! Clean, warm and cozy. The unit is very large and plenty of room to spread out. The decor is eclectic and nostalgic.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The loft is spacious for three people & our dog. Though it sits right on the Main Street, it was quiet & private downstairs. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook at home, which is what we did.
A very well stocked kitchen; walking distance to Pagosa Hot Springs so we don't have to stress about parking; all the TV channels and Netflix; the space is actually bigger than we thought. Also the washer and dryer is convenient which is not listed in the property amenities.yes, the movie theater with 140 seats is next door and we watched the new Star War
It was outstanding. I'm surprised more people don't stay there. I come into town everyweekend. It hard to stay two nights though. We will stay here again. Thank you.
I personnally really liked the location, right in the middle of historic main street. Once we parked our car we rarely drove. Everything is within walking distance. Also what great accomdations : updated kitchen, nice bathroon, awesome bed, great fireplace. I highly recommend and will being staying there again on my next visit.
It was ok. Very warm in the loft all day and night. A/c was not very good. Turn on a very small fan that made way to much noise. Couch stunk. Shower is very small. Every one was giving it 5 stars. Sorry I give 2. But hey on good side. Right across from the river and springs. Next time I will stay there at Springs resort.
