New Town Apartment Rental Photos and Description

A newly renovated apartment within an historical Georgian townhouse

The property is located on Great King Street, one of the finest Georgian terraces in Edinburgh. It is a 5-10 minute walk from George Street and Princes Street where the best shops, restaurants and bars are located and the Castle is a 20 minute walk away. The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs) of a traditional townhouse. The accommodation comprises a living room, kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The superb living room has floor to ceiling windows, marble fireplace and decorative ceiling plasterwork has a large dining table, sofa bed, TV and DVD. The wonderful modern kitchen includes a dishwasher, electric oven and washing machine with built-in dryer. The main bathroom has a 'jacuzzi' bath and there is the second shower room off the master bedroom. The second bedroom overlooks the rear of the property with views to the north of the city and the third double bedroom (includes a single bed) faces the front of the building. Parking is available on request.

Great Flat!! I'd rent it again!!

Our 1st floor flat in Edinburgh was everything we hoped it would be. It was very clean. The kitchen had all the tools and amenities we could ask for. Just as advertised, we were only five blocks from Princes street and only a little bit further, the Royal Mile. There was a Tesco right around the corner and a Sainsbury about a block away to get groceries.

When we first arrived in Edinburgh, we took a cab to the flat. When we gave the cab driver the address, the first thing he said to us was, 'You're in a great spot...close to everything!!' I took that as high praise and very reassuring. He was right!!

On the walk up to the city centre, there are many restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops and bakeries.

Definitely loved St. Vincent's pub around the corner and the restaurant, Bailies, was lovely and about a 10 minute walk away.

Francois was very helpful upon our arrival, showing us around the flat and telling us where everything could be found.

I give this great flat 5 stars because our week was perfect! The description that led us to rent was spot-on! I can highly recommend this super rental!!

Great location, great flat in the heart of New Town

We stayed here for one week in August 2016. Francois was at the flat waiting for us when we arrived. Wow!! We couldn't have asked for a better location. Close to all amenities..Tesco, an independent grocer and a bakery within a 1 min walk on Dundas whilst Sainsburys is a 2-3 min walk on Howe St. Both streets contained many restaurants, tea rooms, antique stores, galleries.....the list goes on. The walk up to Princes street was a little uphill but do-able. The flat was well kept, attractive and very spacious with a nice kitchen set up. The row of housing is attractive to look at and the street well kept as you walk up to number 56. We never encountered anything in the area that made us feel uncomfortable during our stay. We did have a couple smaller issues, however. The washing machine broke during the early part of our stay and had not been replaced by the time we left (we had 2 weeks worth of washing to do !!) and there was a fair amount of recycling in the stairwell when we arrived. We were told to add our recycling to it but we were creating a fair amount too so we just threw it out in the regular trash. We thought it could become a fire hazard. Would I stay again? Yes! Would I recommend to others? Yes!!

Great location, and a well-equppd flat.

We rented this apartment for a week during the Edinburgh Festival, for 5 adults. It was comfortable, nicely furnished and in a great location. Close enough to Princess St to get to events easily, but far enough away to give us an escape from the crowds. Nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby, but booking is recommended during busy times like this. There were some minor hiccups at the beginning, due to the number of people coming and going, but these were quickly sorted out by Francois.

Wonderful flat, perfect location in Edinburgh

We found our stay and experience overall to be excellent. First Francois was a gracious host, meeting us at the door and accommodating our request for an extra bed in the kids room - setting it up himself. The apartment is quite lovely and spacious. Very well equipped and everything was clean and tidy and you can tell has been well taken care of by guests and Francois. The photos and description of the apartment are very accurate. We took the airport Airline 100 bus into city from the airport to Waverly station - which is located in the heart of the city and a brief 12 minute or so walk on to the apartment. The apartment's location is very convenient and makes it easy to get to wherever you'd like go in Edinburgh - the the Scott, National Gallery, the Castle, the Camera, the Hub, etc. We walked everywhere, never needed a taxi or uber.

A Tesco is right around the corner for groceries and supplies you might need, a number of good restaurants and pubs are also in very close proximity. We had a great time in Edinburgh - and we wish we might have stayed a couple days longer! Overall we would highly recommend the apartment as a place to stay in Edinburgh.

The property is exceptional in every manner. It is in a great location within walking distance of the city centre with all its attractions, shops and restaurants. There are also two supermarkets within a 2-minute walk. The property itself is very specious, tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless. The huge Georgian windows filled the apartment with light. The furniture is comfortable and of good quality. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything a family would ever need and once again good quality appliances, cutlery, crockery etc. In the bedroom the beds were comfortable and the linen was crisp clean and the towels soft and fluffy. As I said everything one could ever need is there including a hair dryer in each room. The property benefits of central heating which worked very well and kept the apartment toasty cosy and provided ample hot water. Our party compromised of three adults and two children and we were extremely comfortable in this 3 bedroom, 2-bathroom property during our two week stay. Francois our host was extremely responsive polite and friendly .. He met us at the property and showed us around and made sure we knew how to reach him in the event we needed anything. Without a doubt one of the very best properties we ever staid at .. I would most definitely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is looking for exceptional quality and exceptional value at a great location .. Thank you Francois for an amazing stay.

There are a number of good shops and restaurants round the corner on Dundas Street. This street is also well known for its numerous, varied and expensive art galleries!
