About Scott

I am a photographer, born and bred in NYC, I live in the the upstairs portion of the house with my wife and daughter. The apartment listed here is separate from our home and has it's own private entrances to the street and garden in the back.

Scott purchased this apartment in 1979

Why Scott chose Manhattan

This garden apartment is within one of NYC's most historic homes, built in 1827. It is in the heart of Tribeca, the city's most exclusive neighborhood, and it sits a half block from the Hudson River. It has been beautifully and completely renovated, all kitchen and bath appliances are completely new, there is high-speed internet access, and the 2 large LED televisions include Netflix and Hulu movies. The mid-century furniture has been culled from my personal collection, and includes pieces designed by Eames, Nelson, Noguchi, Loewy, Saarinen, Van Der Rohe, Sonneman, Henningsen, Mategot, and Guariche. There is also a lovely private English garden in the rear for you to dine and barbecue in, or to just relax, restore, and enjoy your glass of wine.

What makes this apartment unique

A private English garden, wood burning fireplace, fine linens and china, and and the loveliest neighborhood in the NYC. Pets are most welcome to stay with you here. A little gem in Tribeca

  • 5 of 5

This apt is cozy and beautiful, very well maintained. And the "Zenish" backyard is just a great plus to enjoy a good read or a glass of wine. Scott is a fantastic host who cares about every detail. We hope to be back!

Everything we had hoped for

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful apartment almost on the doorstep for everything that's special about New York. Scott was the most attentive and helpful host imaginable. The apartment was spotlessly clean when we arrived and very well equipped. The description in the listing does not do the property justice. Everything worked as expected and I cannot fault anything. We would not hesitate to return. Thanks Scott for everything. It was awesome!

Lovely property! Clean, gorgeous! Will stay again

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. Scott was very friendly and accommodating. The location was great! The decor is beautiful. The apartment is impeccably clean and had everything we needed for a stay with our 3 year old son. As former New Yorkers, we travel to NYC often and hope to stay here again!

Fantastic apartment with all the home comforts. Scott was a great host patiently explaining all the apartment and neighbourhood had to offer. Would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending it to others.

Perfect Choice

  • 5 of 5

We can't imagine a better home base for spending a week in New York. My husband and I stayed here with our 12-year-old granddaughter and it was perfect for the three of us. The apartment was roomy, quiet, comfortable and conveniently located. Someone commented that the bathroom was small but it was fine for us. A big person might find the tub shower a bit narrow but we found all the amenities to be exemplary. The apartment is completely stocked; we moved right in! We walked to excellent restaurants and easily took the subway or a taxi to wherever we wanted to go. Thank you so much, Scott, for making this apartment available for visitors. It's a gem.

Car: not necessary

You will be in the heart of TriBeCa, New York's most desirable neighborhood. All of train lines are in walking distance, and finding a cab is quite easy. The area has become one of the city's great restaurant destinations, including Nobu, Mr. Chow's and Wolfgangs steakhouse. It is a short walk to soho, the west village, the meat packing district, the high line and Wall Street.
