My family just returned from beautiful Bryce canyon. This home was great and the owner was awesome. He made sure we had everything we needed. I even received a message to ask us how our stay was. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a friendly welcoming host.
While the house is definitely dated (kind of like going to grandpa's house with all the random ephemera associated with that), it felt like home for those few days and gave the place character. The living spaces were super spacious, high ceilings, and were very relaxing. It was nice to not have any neighbors directly next to or looking into the house - so much better than getting a cabin or something. I also must mention the very EPIC man-cave with pool table and gigantic 8-seater live-edge bar, which made us wish we had more people! The man-cave leads out to a big fenced grassy dog run. There is also a river (it was dry when we were there but the kids liked picking through the river rocks) and tons of ATV trails leading out from the house. There is a big gas grill and a small charcoal one on a big deck which was great at the end of the day.
The owner was very helpful in giving suggestions on things to do, where to eat, etc, and gave extremely accurate and impressive directions on how to get to the house and other places! Helpful as it is a bit remote and cell service (mine is ATT) does not work in some areas. Lots of resources in the house as well on area hikes and activities and a kitchen that had all the tools and condiments you need if you were cooking. The ONLY thing is that we left at 9:55 am (checkout is at 10) and there was already a guy waiting, standing by his car, outside the gate for us to leave, which was a bit off-putting.
We stayed at this property July 1-5. We went to Bryce Canyon, Escalante National park and Kodachrome National Park. All easy drives from this house.
The house was comfortable, had great views, plenty of room for a crowd. Great bar and pool table. Large Jacuzzi tub for soaking after a long day of hiking.
cable tv with all the premium channels. Washer/dryer. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.
Excellent house in an excellent location...Great views from the deck and backyard...The owners were perfect virtual hosts and provided all the instructions and recommendations you could want. A perfect place for day-tripping to bryce canyon, escalante, maynard dixon house, zion, etc....We enjoyed the peaceful location and hope to go back in the coming years. All advertised features were as described.
The home was very comfortable, had all the amenities described and most importantly... welcoming and clarifying communications from the owner, Tom. We loved the recommended hikes in the area. Convenience to Bryce and selected hikes in Escalante was excellent. A great home base!
The house is quite spacious. The first floor has a roomy living area, bedroom, and deck off the back. Above is a loft office with a futon. Below is a pool room, bar, and another bedroom with a jacuzzi. The owner went out of his way to stock not only the necessities – paper towels and TP – but all of the extras that make it seem as if you are staying in someone’s home, not a rental. Coffee and tea, spices and condiments, a full set of kitchen pots, pans, and cooking implements, all of these little touches made our stay really comfortable. The owner thoughtfully provides brochures and maps to all of the area’s attractions. Recommended without reservation!
