About Megan Barlow
My husband and I were born and raised in the area and when this home came on the market in the summer of 2011 we realized what a great place it would be for vacationers to enjoy when visiting our area. We especially wanted to make it a home that families could feel comfortable using. With two small children we understand the challenges of traveling with kids and we hope that you find our home to be a great place to bring the kids so everyone can have a vacation.
Megan Barlow purchased this House in 2011
Why Megan Barlow chose Confluence
This property is in a small village that at one time was a mining town. With the mine closed, it now has only a handful of homes. It is creekside to a small stream that runs from the mountains and is great for trout fishing. The house itself is close to Route 40 so you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far from the amenities that come with populated areas. It is a home for all seasons and close to all the activities but in a more secluded setting. We have renovated the home so it has modern conveniences but still retains its charm.
What makes this House unique
We hope your stay will be relaxing and enjoyable. We have tried to make the house comfortable and we promise it will be clean. We have bed bug covers on all beds and pillows. We want you to feel comfortable bringing your family and want to take some of the stress away by offering this complete home.

Lots of room and a great setting
We had a group of 10 of us and there was more than enough room. The back yard and fire pit with the creek view is fantastic. There was no cell service for us but the WIFI did the trick... you don't need your phone anyway... enjoy the nature! Megan was very responsive and accommodating. We will hopefully be planning a trip back in the summer.
The perfect place for a cold weekend
My partner and I stayed here with both sets of our parents on a cold weekend. This house was perfect for staying inside, cooking meals, and playing games while everyone was getting to know one another. It was the perfect size for the six of us.
Awesome, with notes
This creaky-floored house is a DELIGHT. I have rented this house at least four times and everything has been waaay better than expected. This time the cubbards were bare (including toilet paper) and my family was in misery from allergies associated with pet hair/dander. In the past this house has been extremely clean and stocked. These things are easily corrected as I would like to rent in the future, although prices have gone up and administrative fees have been added. It's a lovely location and I was born in Confluence 60 years ago.
I am sad to hear the home was not as you expected. I will discuss the issue with my housekeeper. If you ever need any supplies please contact me. We live in the area and are able to immediately respond to any needs that arise. Had I known, I would have immediately come to clean, restock, or supply any item you needed. I was unaware of these issues until now. I wish I could have remediated them at the time of your stay. I will be sure you do not have the same experience twice.
Everything was as nice or nicer then stated!
What a great place to stay as we explored the Laurel Highlands! The house was clean and had just enough of everything we needed. It unfortunately rained in the evenings so we did not get to use the fire pit but we had a blast anyway! Thanks Megan for opening your home up to us. We are already making plans for next year!
Our Beautiful Confluence Stay
My family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful quaint home by Whites Creek. It is a beautiful area and the home meets all your needs with great dinning, bedrooms and lounge area. The surrounding area is beautiful and access to surrounding sites is simple with plenty of information provided by Megan of things to do and see. We were able to bring our dog who loved the large grassed area. Thanks to Megan and her family for opening the doors to this lovely home a lovely memory for us to take home to Australia with us thank you.
What a good time!
I had a great time visiting my son who lives in Confluence. We were all able to have dinner together at the house and enjoy our evenings at the fire pit. The house is very clean, roomy and comfortable. So nice to be able to bring my small dog as well. The owners are very nice to deal with too. Look forward to visiting soon.
