About Megan Barlow

My husband and I were born and raised in the area and when this home came on the market in the summer of 2011 we realized what a great place it would be for vacationers to enjoy when visiting our area. We especially wanted to make it a home that families could feel comfortable using. With two small children we understand the challenges of traveling with kids and we hope that you find our home to be a great place to bring the kids so everyone can have a vacation.

Megan Barlow purchased this house in 2011

Why Megan Barlow chose Pennsylvania

This property is in a small village that at one time was a mining town. With the mine closed, it now has only a handful of homes. It is creekside to a small stream that runs from the mountains and is great for trout fishing. The house itself is close to Route 40 so you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far from the amenities that come with populated areas. It is a home for all seasons and close to all the activities but in a more secluded setting. We have renovated the home so it has modern conveniences but still retains its charm.

What makes this house unique

We hope your stay will be relaxing and enjoyable. We have tried to make the house comfortable and we promise it will be clean. We have bed bug covers on all beds and pillows. We want you to feel comfortable bringing your family and want to take some of the stress away by offering this complete home.

Our Beautiful Confluence Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful quaint home by Whites Creek. It is a beautiful area and the home meets all your needs with great dinning, bedrooms and lounge area. The surrounding area is beautiful and access to surrounding sites is simple with plenty of information provided by Megan of things to do and see. We were able to bring our dog who loved the large grassed area. Thanks to Megan and her family for opening the doors to this lovely home a lovely memory for us to take home to Australia with us thank you.

What a good time!

  • 5 of 5

I had a great time visiting my son who lives in Confluence. We were all able to have dinner together at the house and enjoy our evenings at the fire pit. The house is very clean, roomy and comfortable. So nice to be able to bring my small dog as well. The owners are very nice to deal with too. Look forward to visiting soon.

Family friendly

  • 5 of 5

This was a first time visit for my brother and his family and the accomidations were perfect. We all had a great time and were very comfortable in the house. After a day of white water rafting and visiting cucumber fall we all came home to take showers and my sister-in-law said "are you sure we are going to have enough hot water for 9 people to take showers". We did! Then we cooked hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and sat in the comfortable dinning room eating and telling stories about the days activities. What a great time we had full of family fun. My niece and nephews are already talking about next year.

cozy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My family needed a little get-away for a few days to bike and hike and just be together. Everything in the house was perfect, super clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the stream out back while we sat by the fire. They house had everything we needed and was well stocked if we forgot anything.

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented plenty of houses on VRBO but this one exceeded them all! Not only was the house charming (your photos don't do it justice) but the owners went out of the way to provide "extras" to make our stay enjoyable. From the coffee in the freezer to the makings for s'mores in the pantry to wood for the fire pit and extra toothbrushes in case we forgot ours -- this home was delightful. My family and friends will be back again and again. Thanks for such wonderful hospitality!

A Real Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place to stay! We found it peaceful-very quiet at night and day-yet close to everything we wanted to do. Everything was perfect-from the kitchen (hooray for the dishwasher!) to the spotless bathrooms. The house was very roomy-much bigger then I thought it would be. Fallingwater, Ohiopyle, Laurel Hills State Park, Yough River Lake, and even Kennywood were within decent driving distance. We enjoyed the donuts at Sweeties in Confluence and some great pizza at the pizza place next door. Lots of covered bridges are also in the area and worth seeing. Bicycles are a must for the Great Allegheny Passage, which is less then 3 miles from the house. I would definitely recommend staying here! My family loved it!
