The quiet, peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views combined with the ever changing tides and light create a magical experience rarely found anywhere else. The surroundings are beautiful.
Quiet, surrounded by nature, closest accommodations to Sapelo Island and centrally located on the Georgia coast making Blue Heron a great base for exploring the entire coast.
Our family gathered at the Blue Heron Inn for a family reunion for the week. The accommodations were ideal for a large multi generational group. The owners were beyond helpful when we were making our arrangements. The large well equipped kitchen made for easy meal preparation and visiting. The large central room was ideal for our meals and more visiting. The deck that is outside most of the bedrooms was a wonderful place to watch the sunrise or observe the many species of birds. All of the beds were ready for us and there was a large supply of towels and other linens. The washer and dryer were convenient and helpful to have. There were kayaks, bikes and a great outdoor fire pit. Jan had the entire house beautifully decorated for Christmas all we had to do was bring our stockings to hang with care by the large fireplace.
