Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 baths,

Casa Tres Hombres will give you the ultimate Santa Fe vacation experience.

Imagine staying in a historic double adobe home dating from the late 1800’s (updated, of course). It’s located not only on the prestigious Eastside, but also on Canyon Road, only one block from El Farol, Geronimo, and the Tea House, at the top of the gallery section of Canyon Road. The Plaza is only 1.3 miles away.

Casa Tres Hombres can sleep up to six. The main home is 1475 square feet with two-bedrooms and two-baths. At the rear of the property is a studio/casita for additional sleeping and an additional full bath.. All bedrooms have queen beds.

Here you can enjoy all the features you think of in Santa Fe architecture. The floors are mainly Saltillo tile. There are a total of 3 kiva fireplaces. The main living areas have viga ceilings, as well as a number of skylights, providing a light-filled space. The double adobe construction keeps the home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

The queen master bedroom suite has its own full bath (tub with shower). There is a kiva fireplace in this room, as well as a TV. There is an office niche with desk and chair if you want to work quietly, away from the living area.

The second bedroom also has a queen bed. There is a hall bath with shower (no tub) that serves as the main bath and is located between that bedroom and the living room.

The cozy living room has comfortable brown leather seating, and a flat screen HDTV. You will enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning kiva fireplace on those cool evenings.

The kitchen is galley style and is fully equipped with colorful dishes and everything you will need for preparing that gourmet meal. There is seating for six in the dining room. There is also a small dinette off the kitchen.

In spring, summer, and fall, the back yard is beautifully landscaped and features a granite fountain, created by a local artist. This area is totally enclosed, so perfect if you bring your dog. There are two areas for relaxing outdoors: a wrought iron table and chairs for eating out, as well as a raised area under a gazebo with a chiminea (free-standing fireplace) and a larger wood table and chairs. There is a mountain view when the trees shed their leaves. This is an area you will surely enjoy with Santa Fe’s forever sun all seasons of the year.

At the rear of the yard is a small studio/casita. It has one bedroom with a queen bed and fireplace. There is also a bathroom with shower. Rental of Casa Tres Hombres includes the casita.

Casa Tres Hombres has all the amenities you would expect in a great vacation rental in Santa Fe: WIFI, HDTV, telephone, washer/dryer, and off-street parking for 2 cars.

NOTE: VRBO QUOTES ARE OFTEN INACCURATE. WE CHARGE NO TAX ON MONTHLY RENTALS AND DO CHARGE A $700 SECURITY DEPOSIT out of which comes $180 final cleaning charge and gas & electric over $100/month.

Wonderful Santa Fe Location with character

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a month here in June 2017. The location is very convenient and the park across the street made traveling with our dog easy. The house is comfortable and fully equipped. The casita out back beyond the lovely patio was perfect for our out-of-town visitors. We enjoyed the outdoor eating area with a grill and a gorgeous fountain. Shaded parking in the front was very convenient. Quiet enclave on a dead end drive within walking distance of Canyon Rd galleries, restaurants and a little far from downtown, but we walked it several times. When the record-breaking heat wave struck at the end of our stay, we found it too hot, but it is my understanding that they are adding some AC. Nigh-time heat is very unusual in Santa Fe. The couple of little issues we had were quickly taken care of by the management in a friendly and efficient manner. This cute, adobe was perfect for our needs and we would be delighted to stay here again on our next visit to Santa Fe.

Owner's Response: We have indeed installed a mini-split A/C system in the 2 bedrooms of the main house as well as installing insulated shades in the kitchen and dining rooms as well as skylight covers in both the living and dining rooms. Hottest days are much more comfortable, now.

Adorable Home

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a month here in November, and we really enjoyed the time and location. The location is close to everything we were interested in, and going for walks on Canyon Road to check out galleries is wonderful. The Teahouse is just around the corner for a light lunch or dinner, and the neighborhood is quiet. The home is nicely furnished, and the beds are comfortable. When we had a question about the home, the support system there was prompt and friendly. This is a well managed home in a great location. The only thing to note is that the home may be two bedroom with a one bedroom casita, but the single living room space is best suited for two people due to the love seat and armchair. In colder months this may force anyone else back to their room since there is no comfortable way to gather in the living room, but the outdoor seating areas would be very inviting during the summer months. All in all this is an adorable home, and great value for a longer term renter. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway in Santa Fe, and would love to stay there again.

Great Visit

  • 5 of 5

We three friends spent a week in this lovely home. It was cozy and tastefully decorated. Great location, and beautiful patio area to relax. The beds were very comfortable and welcoming after busy days spent shopping, church exploring, we even went to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta. Wonderful.

The only thing I want to mention is that two of us stayed in the house and one in the casita. The walk to the casita at night was kind of perilous as the light was on a motion sensor and it was very dark. Found the flashlight on the last night there. Maybe some solar pathway lights would do the job. Also, there is one step up to get to the landing of the back door. Some tape was there to mark the hazard, but it may need to be more noticeable than a piece of tape on the floor. Other than that, our stay was lovely, memorable, and way too short. I would stay here again in a minute.

A Little Bit of Heaven in a Heavenly surround

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent 7 fabulous weeks in Casa Tres Hombres and already signed up for the same dates (plus 2 more weeks) next year. The location could not be better. It is on Canyon Rd, but just a short block past the end of where all the galleries are. So touring the fabulous Canyon Rd galleries is only a few minutes away, yet we did not feel we were in a "touristy" area. The plaza and town center is only a 10-15 minute walk away. But in the other direction, Casa Tres Hombres is only minutes away by car from amazing hiking. Every day we took an hour plus hike on the Atalaya Mt trail, the Dale Ball Trail network, amongst others. We went to Santa Fe for my wife, a novelist, to be working on her second book, and for me, an academic, to be starting a textbook. Casa Tres Hombres was perfect. The casita was a private writing studio for my wife, and I had a lovely office nook in the master bedroom. The casa is tastefully furnished and appointed, and everything was in good working order. Importantly, the managing really company were ever responsive. Nothing at all went wrong, but over the 7 weeks we did have occasional questions about the place, and my calls were always answered or returned promptly. We cannot recommend this highly enough.

Super Retreat Spot with Multiple Options

  • 5 of 5

There were three of us: two old artist friends and graphic designer daughter who holed up in the casita for working time. The casa is convenient for daily living, gorgeous garden space complete with fountain and enlivened with pleasures from flora and fauna. Plus the outdoor setup with table, chairs, umbrella make breakfast outside more than inviting if one did not choose to go to the great coffee place, Downtown Subscription on Garcia, a few minutes ride or morning walk. The interior accoutrements are tasteful and comfortable. Canyon Road beckons, entices and is foot steps away. Driving to experience the pleasures of the Plaza and museums, plus Museum Hill is accessible. The whole month was one joy added to another. A repeat would be in order.

"A Charming, Authentic Location to Enjoy Santa Fe's Many Splendors"

  • 5 of 5

We booked 'Tres Hombres' for the entire '13 summer (mid-May thru Aug) to savor Santa Fe's unique beauty at our leisure from this convenient and appealing base location just back from Canyon Road ...and an easy walk to great galleries and top-notch restaurants . VRBO's listing and photos are accurate, but don't fully capture the 'homey' feeling of being part of this authentic, established adobe neighborhood, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The lovely, grassy park nearby (within 100 meters) is perfect for relaxed dog-walking and for meeting friendly residents (and their pets). Our main 'casa' and its backyard 'casita' were just right for us and the series of select couple visitors and family we hosted... immaculate, colorful and cheery...with indoor and outdoor 'nooks' for individual privacy. The burbling patio fountain lulls one to sleep, and the no-care, drip-irrigated garden adds to the peaceful, lovely ambiance. The property manager is always helpful and responsive to our questions and requests, as are the maintenance man and gardener. NOTE: light sleepers should be forewarned that near-neighbor dogs do sometimes bark (at cats?) in early AM and late evening. That said, I would recommend Tres Hombres to friends and relatives; in fact, we're already considering re-booking for our next trip to Santa Fe.
