Tremendous family laughs, memories and friends in our cozy development, lots of young families. Our kids are always asking 'when are we going back to Mara Lake?' We have the best photos and video from our time out there that we will cherish always.
Darren & Myrna Curran purchased this condo in 2007
Closest awesome lake to Calgary, love all things water. Prefer the family time and ease of driving vs flying. New, easy and comfortable, enjoy the convenience of being able to walk into town but the privacy and peace of being on the edge of town. Looked out over the lake and loved it. Love being on the edge of town and the convenience of being able to walk to all needed amenities but retaining that small town friendliness without the traffic and hustle bustle of Kelowna or other Okanagan cities.
Smallness and community friendliness of a 40 unit development but amenities like the swimming pool, hot tub, marina and beach. Really fell in love with the lake after we bought a boat and began to explore the shoreline, bays and different arms of the Shuswaps. Enjoy the flat calmness of Mara Lake especially in the mornings for a slalom ski
This condo is immaculately clean & beautifully decorated. Great view of the pool & lake, close proximity to Sicamous if you need to run out and get anything. Nice pool area/courtyard also. Our kids loved watching movies on Netflix in the evenings after long days spent at the beach/swimming etc. Overall a great vacation!
The condo is set up very well with high quality furnishings, and everything we needed for our vacation.
It's right on the lake, with a dock, which is ideal if you rent a boat from a local place in Sicamous (or bring your own).
Additionally the other condo owners were very friendly, and there wasn't any loud noise at night which made for restful sleeping.
Great Condo, Amazing people to rent from... fantastic cleaner... we dropped off our gear and the cleaner put everything away for us in the fridge.. she had a full day of cleaning and we needed to get to the golf course... very accommodating.. the place was as expected upscale and the pingpong table down the hallway was a blast!... swimming pool, hot tub are topnotch... condo was exactly what our group of 5 needed!. thank you again!
great golf at Hyde mountain... & Salmon Arm! (Hyde is 15 minutes away if you drive very very slow)
We really enjoyed our stay. The pictures on website was exactly what you received when you arrived. Our young kids enjoyed having the space of the condo instead of being cramped in a hotel room. The owners were wonderful to talk to and very helpful. Will definitely stay again.
Mara Lake is the first lake in the Shuswap lakes, as the water turns over as it flows onward out the Fraser watershed. The lake is sheltered by surrounding hills and offers many mornings of pristine water skiing and is connected via the Narrows for boat acess to the entire Shuswap Lake system. Summer weather is usually stunning, sunny most days, and generally at least 10 DegC higher than Calgary and warm through the evenings.
There is plenty to do in the Shuswap Valley 12 months a year: besides boasting some of the best boating and fishing waters in BC, the region features first class golf, mountain biking, water-skiing, snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling. There are nearby hiking trails for all skill levels including Sicamous Creek Trails, Simms Creek Loop Trail, Eagle River Nature Park, Enderby Cliffs, Malakwa Suspension Bridge, and Gorge Creek Trail. Hyde Mountain golf course is spectacular and you can boat 5 minutes across the lake and they will pick you up on the dock!
Bask in the sunshine on the beach and enjoy numerous water activities. Bring your own boat or rent one and explore the Shuswap Lake system, which has over 1000 km of shoreline and is a top boating destination in Western Canada. Enjoy activities at the Narrows, or hideout at secluded picnic or hiking areas accessible only by boat, bring some firewood & have a hot dog lunch & smores. Support the local businesses our favorited include Black Dog surf wear, Blondies Coffee, Shuswap Ski & Board. Bring your downriggers for lake trout fishing, photograph it and then let it get away.
Get out for an early morning wakeboard or ski on the still waters of Mara Lake or tube and bounce it up a bit. Then for something different, buzz to the Shuswap Lakes on your boat, check out the floating seastores, have dinner over at Hyde Mountain or up at Narrows Village, anchor & hike to Margaret or Alba Falls, or picnic at one of the many water access only campgrounds on the lake system.
