About Erin Larson
I grew up in Minnesota, spending summers and holidays at the family cabin in the Brainerd Lakes Area. I split time between the Cities and this lake home, and after lending it out to friends and family I realized we have something special here. I'm happy to share this beautiful, private lake home with the right visitors. I hope you enjoy!
Erin Larson purchased this House in 2014
Why Erin Larson chose Baxter
I was looking for a true getaway in the Brainerd Lakes Area. I wanted someplace where me and my dogs could spend weeks on end in complete peace and privacy, but also wanted the security and convenience offered by a medium-sized city. We almost didn't even look at this property because I couldn't believe the seclusion I needed would come from a lake home in Baxter. When we turned onto the gravel road, my whole mindset changed. All it takes is driving down our private drive, catching a glimpse of one of our animal neighbors (fawns in the spring!), enjoying the sun setting over Red Sand Lake, and you forget that the outside world exists. We are the sole human occupants of a 4 acre peninsula on a small, very private lake. I couldn't have asked for a nicer spot.
What makes this House unique
The privacy offered is unparalleled, in my experience owning and enjoying lake homes. The lake is smaller than some, but with that comes complete privacy as well as safety. We drop our water mat in the middle of the lake with people lounging on it and are never worried about boat traffic. You can enjoy all the perks of Northwoods lake living and still be able to pop out for groceries in less than a half hour. Rainy weather just means you don't feel guilty hunkering down in the theater with your choice of hundreds of DVDs or Netflix.

Like having your own private island home
Our 12 family members met here for our annual week long vacation. The long winding driveway leads you to your own private peninsula, yet you’re very close to all the amenities of Baxter/Brainerd. The house was very accommodating with all of the bedrooms and sitting spaces. It was nice to be able to use the pontoon for a loop around the lake too. We loved the big yard that led to the nice fire pit that overlooked the great sandy beach. The water was shallow enough for the young ones to play in, but deep enough at the end of the dock for the older kids to jump into, all while we relaxed in the chairs by the fire pit. Erin was informative, and eager to help. Communication was great. We’ve already booked for next year!
2nd year- booked for another
It's our 2nd year staying at Red Sand Lake for a 5 night vacation with our family. This house fits our needs perfectly and we drove away with next year booked as well. The location is simply perfect. It's quiet and secluded yet we can pop into town to get coffee, shop for supplies and/or antique shop- or the guys hit a few lakes in the area for some bigger fish. The house itself accommodates for all ages. For the 60+, there are minimal steps on the main level, deck & to the beach, including slow cruises in the pontoon. For my generation 30s-40's- comfortable sleeping on large beds (not twins or full sized) and plenty of fridge space to store food for the teens and early morning kayaking to see the loons. For the teens to 20's- free wifi, theatre room, billiards, plenty of yard space to hammock/play outdoor games, paddle boarding & a lower level for them to sleep in. For the littles, toys, beach toys, a shallow beach area and plenty of wild life to search for. This year was the season of crawdads. The kids found them everywhere- in the kayaks, beach, yard. It was fun for them to put them in buckets and release them back into the water- even if they were "angry". We were able to catch glimpses of huge owls, eagles & the loon famlies on the lake. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook for a crew. Makes it easier to come back when you don't have to pack the additional supplies for your long trek to paradise.
What a great place! 4 acres to yourself with a sandy beach and tons of sleeping space in a pretty neat house, all in close proximity to Baxter for quick runs into town if needed. No complaints!
Amazing Lake Home
Our experience exceeded our expectations. The house is very The house is comfortable and well maintained with everything one would need easily accessible: pontoon, kayaks, wood for fires, grills, games, theater room and the list goes on. The seclusion of being the only house on the peninsula is quite special, we saw no people during our stay. We LOVED it.
You would never to expect to find such a private paradise so close to all of the amenities of the Brainerd Lakes Area. Over 4 acres of complete seclusion features our 3500 square foot, four-season home and over 3000 feet of private lakeshore. Grocery stores, bars and restaurants, and more within 4 miles of the property, but most people find they never want to leave this private, beautiful retreat.
