Exactly what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted an affordable option close to the French Quarter but away from the noise at night. This property was perfect for us, as it gave us plenty of space, our own bathroom, kitchen and private entrance. The property was very clean, modern, and the kuerig machine with coffee/tea cups provided was a great touch. We decided against renting a car even though there was parking at the property, and that worked out great. Uber from the airport was about $27 each way, and $10-15 each way to the French Quarter. Traffic and parking downtown would've been crazy. We opted for the Bus and Streetcar combo on a few days to downtown and saved some money with the 24hr Jazzy Pass, though it did take a bit longer than Uber. The bus stop is a short 5 min walk from the property though you'll probably want to take the bus south to the St Charles streetcar for a more scenic route. Make sure you have exact change for the bus/streetcar, and use the GoogleMaps app to help plan your route with precise arrival/departure times as a few buses only come every 30 minutes. And cruise the shops and restaurants along Magazine Street and walk into Audubon Park for a nice change of pace near Loyola and Tulane Universities if you have the time especially on a sunny day. Already missing the great food and music that New Orleans has to offer. Would definitely recommend this property to family and friends especially over staying at a crowded downtown hotel within earshot of the drunks on Bourbon street.

What a great little place in NOLA!

We found Rebecca's apartment last minute for VooDoo Fest and really lucked out! She was super accommodating and the house is a quick Uber ride to anywhere in the city! Highly recommended.

Quiet nice neighborhood apartment

  • 5 of 5

Rebecca and family were super friendly and provided any information or help needed about the area. They were available upon request but also kept their space to let you live as independently as you wanted. I would recommend for anyone needing a place to stay in NOLA in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Second time!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Kitchen's listing a second time in 2017, and it has all the virtues it did the first time we stayed there in 2016. We recommend most highly the apartment that is comfortable, convenient, well-supplied, and enjoys an advantageous location--with the added attraction of helpful owners!

Lovely Oasis

  • 5 of 5

I was here for business. Coming back to this property after a long day was like coming back to an oasis. The apartment was surprisingly spacious for a one bedroom with 10 to 12 ft ceilings with crown moulding throughout. The hosts were gracious and engaging if you want them to be and but allowed your privacy. The apartment is attached to their main house but has a separate entrance and driveway. There is a full size kitchen with gas stove for those who love to cook. The decor was authentic to Southern Louisiana complete with hurricane style lamps. The foliage around the house kept the outside reasonably cool so that you enjoy a cup of coffee out on the deck in the morning. The neighbors are nice and friendly and the viewing the beautiful architecture in the area was an added bonus to my morning walks. I would highly recommend this property.

The property is centrally located. Just minutes(by car) from Tulane and Loyola Universities, Audubon Park and Zoo, Magazine Street shopping and dining, St. Charles Avenue and the Historic Street Car Line. A short taxi/car ride or The St. Charles Ave. Street Car brings you right into the French Quarter.
