Our Mid-Century Modern Guest House is the perfect spot to enjoy the charming, safe neighborhood of Travis Heights. Quiet and relaxing, yet only 1/2 mile from SOCO and a short distance from all central Austin attractions, it is an ideal base for visiting Austin. Smartly furnished with modern, designer pieces and contemporary art. Large terrace, screened porch with outdoor grill and comfortable seating overlook the native-plant landscaped backyard. Three (3) spacious bedrooms and two (2) baths accommodate 6 guests. The large kitchen is fully equipped for cooking (and/or relaxing), and opens onto the dining area and den. The comfortable living room is perfect for visiting, reading, or watching movies or cable on the Sony flat-screen TV. Big Stacy Pool is a short walk away, as is the 1.2 mile hike/bike trail in the gorgeous, wooded Blunn Creek Greenbelt. Both I-35 and State Highway 71 are easily accessed, just minutes away. Our guest house is family owned and operated and is a fully licensed short-term vacation rental by the City of Austin.
I am Ann. My husband, Jay, and I live in Houston. We initially bought our mid-century modern home in the quiet, historical neighborhood of Travis Heights because we liked its unique qualities and location, close to SOCO, St. Edward's U. and downtown. Hopefully it will be our retirement home some day. Today it is perfectly refurbished and furnished with a pleasing mix of modern and vintage pieces along with our collection of bright modern prints and photographs.

Travis Heights is a trendy, eclectic neighborhood, with an interesting mix of old historic and new modern houses. It has hills and wonderful views, with dining, shopping, hiking, and music, all just a short walk or drive away!
Our historic neighborhood is perfect, with easy access to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Downtown, Lady Bird Lake, Zilker Park, South Congress (SOCO), the Blunn Creek Greenbelt, UT, the Austin Convention Center, and the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
A group of six of us stayed here last month and we were delighted with the rental. Not only did the home surpass our expectations, but the owners were a pleasure to work with. I would strongly recommend this rental.
Here are some of the highlights:
• There were plenty of the things you need like towels, hair dryer, kitchen items, etc. (Some VRBOs skimp on that stuff.)
• The location is fantastic. It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to South Congress if you’re ambitious. We could get anywhere with an inexpensive ride share or taxi.
• There is a bonus sitting area near the kitchen and dining areas. It makes for a huge gathering space, which was great because everyone always hangs out in the kitchen!
• The back deck/patio is awesome.
• They had games!
• Very helpful and accommodating owners.
I would definitely stay here again and would gladly recommend it to others!
The house was an ideal location while we were in town for the University of Texas game. We could walk to the stadium. House was also in nice neighborhood and a quick drive to many spots in Austin. Our group of 8 all had plenty of space in the house.
We stayed here for about six days. The location was great. The house was beautiful, unique, and spacious. The kitchen was amazing but I didn't have the opportunity to cook or eat there. I was in town on business and the worst part of the trip was how little time I spent enjoying the house. I didn't use the TV or hand out in the yard. Great location and amenities. You will not be disappointed.
We had a wonderful time in Austin and having the Travis Heights house as home base made everything so easy. No way we could have stayed in a hotel with 5 people for the same price! And everyone had their own space.
It has everything we needed and was so close to Congress Street, Downtown, and great shops & restaurants. James was so easy to work with, I will definitely stay here again!
This Travis Heights house was excellent for us. We felt right at home. The house is well equipped ( I brought an iron but there was one there), very comfortable beds, so spacious too, so that when someone went to bed earlier than the rest they weren't disturbed at all. Lovely yard and neighborhood. We will definitely be going back to this house!
Travis Heights SoCo Ranch was perfect for us! Pleasant to be on a quiet residential street with our son, yet walkable to plenty of excellent restaurants, bakeries, and trails. The house is spacious with a large kitchen and plenty of space to spread out and play games while others enjoy tv. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in Austin, it felt like home away from home!!
The house is located about half a mile from South Congress, with all its restaurants, shops, bars, and zany sights and characters. About a fifteen minutes walk!
