About Ann Watson and Jay Allison
I am Ann. My husband, Jay, and I live in Houston. We initially bought our mid-century modern home in the quiet, historical neighborhood of Travis Heights because we liked its unique qualities and location, close to SOCO, St. Edward's U. and downtown. Hopefully it will be our retirement home some day. Today it is perfectly refurbished and furnished with a pleasing mix of modern and vintage pieces along with our collection of bright modern prints and photographs.
Ann Watson and Jay Allison purchased this House in 2008
Why Ann Watson and Jay Allison chose Greater South River City
Travis Heights is a trendy, eclectic neighborhood, with an interesting mix of old historic and new modern houses. It has hills and wonderful views, with dining, shopping, hiking, and music, all just a short walk or drive away!
What makes this House unique
Our historic neighborhood is perfect, with easy access to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Downtown, Lady Bird Lake, Zilker Park, South Congress (SOCO), the Blunn Creek Greenbelt, UT, the Austin Convention Center, and the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

This home is in a beautiful neighborhood and is ideally located to the city and all that Austin has to offer. The home was clean, and well stocked and had plenty of room for our whole family. We loved the retro feel and proximity to South Congress. The owners were always available and easy to work with. We highly recommend this home!!
Great Location, but a few issues
The location was perfect but we struggled with a few items
1. 6 page instruction manual to turn on the TV. It took 3 engineers 45 minutes to get it turned on.
2. The couch in the living room was way to low. My elderly parents and even me and my husband struggled to get up from this extremely low sofa
3.The back porch area was very dirty. We wanted to take some family pictures in the backyard and the porch door to the back yard does not open all the way and touching it trying to get out made your clothes dirty
Wow! Never heard these complaints before!
1. The instructions for the house comprise 4 pages, not 6, and only one 10 line paragraph explains how to use the TV/AV system. The system has a high fidelity sound component that does make it minimally more complicated that just pushing the Power Button, but it has terrific sound.
2. The house is furnished in designer, and mid-century modern furniture. We have heard nothing but compliments about our decorating in the past!
3. Okay, our screened back porch is scheduled to be rebuilt. The screen door to the yard certainly opens enough to easily get in and out but it will be replaced when the porch screening is repaired, within the next few weeks. In the meantime, we will do our best to work on some outside Spring Cleaning!
We are sorry these guests felt these issues marred their stay. After the porch is rebuilt, and now that they know how to work the TV, hopefully they will come back. The Minotti sofa, however, will still be there.

Charming Travis Heights House
Recently stayed four nights in Austin, and this house was a perfect & comfortable home base for our stay. The house was clean & spacious, and everything as described in the description, and the owners were easy to contact [not that there were any issues]. Recommended.
Charming house in Austin
We had a great stay at this charming house. It was the perfect spot for our time in Austin, close to great restaurants and bars and a short Uber ride to SXSW. The house is stocked with everything you need and the hosts were easy to work with and provided lots of helpful info. We would happily stay here again.
Very charming house close to lots of great places.
We loved our stay at this house. We came for sxsw and the location was an easy uber away from the conference, but far enough away from the crazy crowds. It’s close to south congress and lots of great restaurants. The house is clean and stocked with everything you need. Thanks for a great stay!
Great house for Thanksgiving
This is in a wonderful location, close to everything Austin. It served our 2 families perfectly. We only did light cooking in the home, what we needed was there. Home was clean and comfortable.
The house is located about half a mile from South Congress, with all its restaurants, shops, bars, and zany sights and characters. About a fifteen minutes walk!
